Drestig Avalon
@Oliver you might wanna add a trigger warning (Self harm & suicidal thoughts) at the top of the thread, just to be safe c:

The snow came without warning, barely had the black man taken his eyes off the clear sky before the flakes started falling. He didn't pay much attention to it though, all his focus on Oliver, even the grey stranger momentarily forgotten as he waited for response; insides writhing in agony. And then the words came, quick and blunt, snapping against him like a whip, making him flinch slightly; Kill me..! For a second he considered what would happen if the scrawny boy jumped him - he had told himself that he would take whatever punishment Ollie decided to give, let him do what he saw fit without protest or any attempt at resistance - would he be able to just stand there though? To let the boy take his life as penance for the one he had taken? Or would he do as he had done then, fight for his life, and kill yet again to keep himself alive?!

But the cream patched lad drew him in with his tale, made the Avalon forget himself, for once, and simply listen, face serious, eyes sad as he took in the feelings Oliver was divulging. He spoke of sorrow and hurt, things Drestig was familiar with himself, but from so long ago, he only remembered it vaguely. His mouth fell open a bit in painful surprise when Oliver mentioned his depression, the thought the young wolf so alone and so in pain that he would consider those horrible things making him shiver; I never thought... In all this time, he never really considered how what he had done would affect the others; first he had been too wrapped up in his own guilt, even briefly considering hurling himself off the mountainside, but the same instincts of self-preservation that had made him a murderer had kept him from it. Then he had suppressed the whole episode, needing to forget his felony in order to move on. Even when he had scented Oliver, that day on his return, his thoughts had been about himself, what he had done.

As the slender boy spoke, the snowfall grew denser, the surroundings soon blurred in gray fog and flurries of white. Drestig was too caught up in Olivers words to really notice though, leaning forwards as the lad seemed to near his conclusion. And what it was shocked the older male even more than anything before it; You won't..? At all?! It seemed to good to be true, and yet, Oliver gave good reasons, once again thinking, like Drestig hadn't, about others; Triell and the rest of Oak Tree Bend would need every capable member throughout the winter, and they were already grieving. Oliver... He wanted to thank him, to apologize again, to say that he would do anything to try and make up, even a little bit, for the horrible thing he had done; But the wind had picked up, and by the time the offender had processed his judgment, it was clear that they needed to find shelter, fast!

The grey woman and Oliver had both realized as much, and, calling through the storm as it was now hard to even see each other, they made a plan, huddling together to keep contact through the blizzard. Drestig's brain was still slightly stunned, making it work slowly to come up with a suitable hide, but Oliver was quick, and the dark man nodded in understanding, calling back towards his dark silhouette; "Lead the way!" He settled right behind the smaller wolf, walking with his head lowered, nose pressed into the black fluff of Oliver's tail to keep track of him, eyes closed against the howling winds.
