Thanatos thought a pack lived close by, and he became uneasy. He didn't want to run into a pack. Thanatos was strong and a good fighter, but he couldn't take on a whole pack. He shook his head, relaxing a little as the memories of his past flooded through his mind. All the fights, the deaths, and then there was that one incident that completely changed him. He came to Relic Lore to try to let go of his past and change for the better. Maybe he could, or maybe he wouldn't be able to.

It was a pretty night and once again Rebecca was wandering far from her home. She didn't care, her alite mind only told her to go and have an adventure. Those four cougar scratches on her neck were almost completely scarred and the black wolf carried them with pride. Head was held high, dangling from side to side as her bouncy steps brought her light body through the woods. Tail was held high like a flag, swiping her black back from time to time. Life was good, life was horrible, but the black insane was going to live like she wanted.
Suddenly a scent took her attention. Wolf, male. Halting, grinning in the shadows, eyes and white teeth shining in the few light that reached her. Here was her adventure, a new face she could meet. Sharp turn and Reba was off towards the wolf. Trotting wiht good pace, head still kept high, impish grin on her face, but tail was now lower, slashing the air behind on the level of her back. This was going to be great!
There he was. Spurting through the forest, running, running towards the black shade that clearly was her adventure, the stranger she wanted to meet. Then the last jump and Rebecca slided in a halt few feet in front of him. Wild grin on her face, tail wagging as she snorted white cluds to the cold winter air.
It was pointless though, and as the scent of blood and wolf tingled his nose he let out a sigh. Another loner it seemed wanted to pass through his home. In truth, he couldn’t be bothered to do another meet and greet, but he had to. He wouldn’t, he couldn’t rest until everything as perfect and the only way it would ever come to fruition was to do these pointless meetings with new wolves, sight potential members and find out any useful gossip that he could. It was monotonous and not what he wanted to be doing, but he had faith that his hard work would all pay off in the end.
Without much more thought to it, the large black beast left the tree he had been marking and followed his nose to locate the male. The scent of blood made him a little curious; it smelt of wolf and not prey so perhaps it was injured. He wouldn’t know until he got closer, all he knew was that the blood was present but not fresh.
Silently, his leather pads tracked across the hard earth and patches of snow until at last the owner of the scent fell into his ghostly grey gaze. He kept himself within the shadows of thickets and trees as he simply observed at first. He had been about to make his presence better known when an all too familiar female flung herself from the darkness of the wood to land in front of the stranger. Rebecca he thought. Instantly his eyes narrowed but he stayed silent and downwind so they wouldn’t detect his presence.

She was smiling at him and wagging her tail. Was she crazy? Running up to a wolf you have never met before was just asking for trouble. He didn't want to speak, she would probably just find his inability to speak clearly amusing but he pushed that thought aside so he could be polite. "Ca I relp roo m-iss?"
Giggling to the male's words, just like she would be needing any help! Silly man. Head lowered as Reba took a good look of him, and know what? She really did like what she saw. Scars were always something to be proud of, and this male was scarred! Handsome as what! Throwing her head higher again, tail wagging with increasing speed. Rebecca was way too excited of meeting this male to even pay attention to the scent that lurked in the air, just waiting to enter in her nose. If she would've payed attention, well, it would be a toal msytery to see how she would react. At least she had a little advantage now: the black girl wasn't loner anymore. |
He ground his teeth at the thought, but he knew it was the most logical way to go. He should probably “apologise”, it couldn’t hurt to have her on side... though he wasn’t sure just how well she was going to take seeing him again. After all, he had stolen her “beloved den”, marked it and then tossed it away. With a roll of his eyes at how difficult this was going to be, he cleared his throat to let them know of his prescence before he stepped from the thickets.
”Evening.” he said aloud to the male, but then glanced to the black female. ”And to you Rebecca.” he said as politely as he could. His expression was neutral, his pose relaxed despite how rigid he felt inside. He was cool on the outside, but hot on the inside.

Another wolf was clearing his throat. Thanatos turned to face him as the stranger greeted him. He knew Rebecca. He was a large black male like him but without the scars. It didn't seem like he was a threat or looking for a fight so Thanatos fought his urge to fight. He backed up, keeping some distance between the two of them. "Herrow." Another failed attempt at speaking.
No. No Becca. "Reba" Rebecca spoke with serious face. That was her nickname, no expections. Yet. Suddenly a familiar voice crossed the air, and a scent she couldn't be wrong with. Rhysis. Sharp turn and the black girl was staring at him with largened eyes. That all ended in a chuckle. She ahd been so silly last time when she ahd saw Rhysis. He ahd offered danger and she had fled! Silly her! |
He hadn’t really noticed the colour of their fur until she pointed it out, but now she had he had to admit it was an unusual sight to have them all gathered in one place. He supposed he should entertain her to try to keep on her good side. ”Yes, we’re quite a little group.” though he couldn’t bring himself to smile just yet.

"Roo h-av a dren ner-by Rh-y-sis?" He took time saying his name, making sure he got it right. He still had trouble speaking but he was getting better. Thanatos looked Reba over, admiring her beautiful eyes. she had a few scars on his neck, unsure where they came from but they seemed somewhat new. She thought it was best not to ask and looked back at Rhysis, having to turn his head so he can get a good look at him through his good eye.
