Skana hoped Narime' had figured out something as far as drainage, though the shouts that drifted in from outside were not reassuring. Thankfully, those who had shown their faces soon cleared out, and would presumably assist in the excavation. The small accented voice that emerged forth was soon directed away by Elettra, though Skana didn't take the time to check just who it was. The old wolf was growing worried at what could have happened to Nina, as with that leg of hers she couldn't have gone far, but then no one with their wits about them could lay silent for long in a flooding bed.

A splash, followed by a struggled cough and a shout for Koda caused Skana to immediately turn and seek out the sound. Koda was not there to answer, but Elettra was quickly at her side. The leader had called Skana over, but she was already making a water-hindered gallop towards the howling face of the girl just barely above the water. Her struggles to stay afloat were obvious, though Skana was sure her thrashing would not be helpful to her healing. While Skana's mahogany shoulders were brushing the roof of the cave and she had to stoop awkwardly to gain access to the infirmary, she was glad that her long limbs kept her face clear out of the water.

Elettra had grabbed onto Nina's mousy scruff, and Skana carefully slipped past the two. Her head twisted side to side for a moment, looking for just where to pick up the wounded lady. She didn't want to further injure anything by grabbing onto or jostling the wrong spot, not really knowing the extent of her injuries. Gingerly, Skana grabbed onto the hackles just a bit lower from where Elettra held her. Gently she helped lift and pull the girl towards the central chamber.

Sorry for the lateness

As the water splashed around her paws she tried to help in some kind of chaotic way. Who was already awake? Was Nina already outside or was she somewhere in a dark corner. Where was Koda or Elettra? When the name came into her head her ears heard the loud voice of her leader. Immediately she stood still, searched into the dark for the light glowing pair of eyes. Her order gave directly result. Waiting for some kind of task she watched the pair of eyes. The white woman was bothered by the fact she saw not everyone of the pack. No Gabrielle or Shade, Koda was nowhere to be found and where was Remy? It could be that they were already busy but why didn't they wake them up? Kyrie did not know but she couldn't ask. As the black she wolf send her out with her gray friend. Her body already turned 180 degrees as Skana mentioned to dig a drain. For a second she looked at the brown hued woman, than smiled and nodded. She didn't know if Skana could see her smile in the dark but it didn't matter since she already was seeing her way out. Digging a drain, it was a good plan. The could make the entrance of the Den higher compared with the ground so water could not find his way up to their sleeping place. Waking up again in a waterparadise wasn't really on her list. Now they had now cubs but what if they would after spring. Kyrie moved, bothered by the water, to the mouth of the Den some steps away from Narimé.

Narimé was already begun with her digging as she managed to get out. The black water was like a mirror to the sky. Hardly seeing the black liquid she tried to look where she could start. As her paws pushed their nails into the soft mud, moving it away with the water above it. This would be a long job. She grunted her teeth as she fierce began her digging job that could go on endlessly. Moving the mud away making it so that their Den was like on the top of a hill. Water had to go downwards but before that would happen tons of mud she had to move out of the way, what was not a easy job. A loud bark out of the Den distracted her from digging. Her ears pointed towards the Den mouth. With a sigh of relieve she began again with her work. Nina was okay, the voices of the others were now just a blur of sounds. Hopefully they would get some reinforcement so they could clear the job in time. Luckily the water had already came on it's highest point, at least so if rain would not gave them a visit.

The pain that she was going through with her legs was tolerable, but the pain of knowing that she couldn’t do anything to save her own life, was not. Her legs did not stop their useless attempts at keeping her head above water, but when all of a sudden she could breath again, her good eye blinked away the water and her ears twitched as the commanding voice of Elettra broke through her thoughts. She was safe. . . Her legs stopped flailing around uselessly, and soon another pair of jaws and support was given around her hackles. She flinched, not because it hurt, but because of the fact that she didn’t know another that would have helped her.

She felt her body being moved, but otherwise, her mind was wondering other places. Was Koda alright. . .? Had Copper Rock Creek once again flooded? The area were not close together, what so ever, but at the moment, all the puzzle pieces she was looking for wouldn’t appear out of plain sight for her. Her nose twitched and a heaving sneeze escaped her mouth. She hadn’t meant to let it loose quite yet but she wasn’t exactly happy about everything that was going on. Her mind could not catch up with anything, and everything that was happening right now, along with all the yelling, was not processing in her mind correctly. She wanted sleep, but even now knew it was not the time for such a thing.

Reed Acoy
His claws raked the muck as he continued to work. The wolf panted heavily, blinking as water sprayed into his eyes. With a shake of his head and a slight growl, the wolf kept at it, upper chest and neck becoming caked with mud within minutes. He and the silver girl kept on digging as if their lives depended on it- did it? "Narimé, I'm going to dig more back-" His sentence was cut off as a large branch hit into his side. With a surprised snarl, the man was knocked off balance, his body slamming down into the water. The world was quiet for a brief moment as the underwater realm claimed him. Within a second, he was back up, continuing to speak as if nothing had happened.

"-more. Just re-dig into the trail I have as I lead it away, ok?" He prayed she could hear him over the roar of the water that streamed through their densite. Why did this have to happen now? It was so damn inconvenient, especially because they were a new pack. Now the food cache would have to be restocked. That wasn't too much of an issue for him, no, but food would be needed immediately. Muscles burning, the rusty man continued to dig, hoping Narimé would follow his instructions.

Rosealia glanced from the old brown wolf to Elettra as they both spoke. She highly disliked the muddy sod on the ground as she padded outside under her alpha's orders. But the water wasn't as still out here, and she lost her footing, scrambling underwater and then shortly after appearing, spluttering and gasping for a breath of air. She was the shortest in the pack, even a little tinier than Narime. It was harder for her to move around, especially when the water was getting really high, extremely high in her case. The water rushed around her loudly, but her keen ears picked up what was going on.

She made her way to where a red figure was digging, and then looked over to the familiar silver yearling who was following the male's orders. She decided to do what he said and started to dig a trail from Narime's to his, trying to meet him halfway. Rose hadn't had much experience with high water where she used to live, in the highly elevated hole her mother dug shortly before birthing her.

Koda Reinier

His new pack was thriving and growing and he couldn't be more proud to lead them by Lady Elettra's side. What had his mind whirling was having his mate just a few feet away and not being able to show his love and loyalty for her the way that his heart begged him to. That would not be fair to Elettra or his family. He had to show his loyalty to them above all when all he wanted to do was curl up by her side and comfort her in her pain.

He would never betray his pack, but he would never stop loving Nina either. She was his heart...his very life. This feeling of divided loyalties was what led him to be running late night border patrol. The sense of duty relieved some of his pent up tension and he was just beginning to feel more himself when the torrential rains came, seemingly out of nowhere. Within moments, his pale coat was plastered to his body, darkening as it was thoroughly saturated with freezing water sent from the heavens. With a heart that was heavy once more he slowly made his way back towards the den and everyone that mattered to him, his thick soggy fur weighing him down.

For reasons that he couldn't name, his footsteps quickened. Then his head lifted and his golden honey eyes darkened. The same feeling that had washed over him when Nina had been attacked and nearly killed by her very own brother blanketed him. Without a conscious thought, he found his paws flying over the muddy terrain, a mere blur for the last few hundred yards. A chill of forboding traveled across his spine and his heart turned to ice as he heard the pain and panic-filled howl call to him. Unerringly, he made his way in the inky darkness to his love.

He saw several of his pack digging vigorously outside of the den and it hit home what was happening. The den was flooding from the sudden onslaught of rain. And Nina was in the infirmary, which was situated even lower. She wouldn't be able to swim with her reinjured leg. She could drown. With a brief nod at the the diggers, he acknowledged them as he leaped throught the opening of the den and splashed into the water-filled den. His eyes couldn't pick out any forms in the main chamber, but he heard the commanding voice of his partner demanding that Nina stop flailing. Than she had her. Relief washed over him as he watched the shadowy forms of Elettra and Skana lift Nina higher in the water. Pride in the ladies of his pack, working together to help a wolf that was not of there own pack, filled him.

Emotion kept his voice from working, but it was hard to miss his large form filling the doorway to the infirmary. He stayed out of the way, since the ladies had the rescue under control. He didn't want to get in the way, but he hoped that Nina knew that he was here. She had to have been terrified, trapped in the infirmary and his heart twisted that he'd not been her for her once more, but she was safe now and he could finally let out the breath he hadn't even realized that he'd been holding.

Elettra Archer
"...Damned disaster."The words growled from parted lips as she finally released Nina, offering Skana a thank you with the dipping of her muzzle. Her attention then scanned the whole of the den area once more, the rocky formation of the structure as solid as ever through the power of the rains. Surely, small openings and cracks through the back of the den would help to drain out from the other side of the den, but the main entrance and only accessible one was through the front where the water was flowing in. They would have to build the entrance of their den to a downwards slope away from it, to help this from ever happening again. Bu it would take much work, not all fitting for this night.
Taking notice to Koda's arrival, her body moved to touch as Nina's nap, pushing her towards the entrance to go, secretly to her loved one. Everyone was accounted for, savor Shade and Remy, her two guardians, likely to be on patrol as Koda (leader, but harboring guardianship as well) had been. Shifting her gaze to Skana once more, the dark woman moved out to the opening of he den. The lands outside were just as dreary, flooded and sunken, so deep in places the shortest of the group could easily slip and fall under the tides. "We'll do a little more that we can tonight, digging to redirect the water as Skana explained to help the flow. It looks like we're going to have to take cover under the willow trees more east towards the mountains at higher ground this night. In the morning, we'll pick up the pieces." She calls this out to everyone before she to takes position outside of the den, vigorously working in place as everyone else to help redirect the flowing waters.

Narimé said nothing. All her focus was on digging the mud out of her way.
Digging continually at the wet earth, making her space connect with her pack
mates dug out spaces so that the water could flow in a different direction. At last
her hole connected with Reeds. Then she began to dig further to her left trying to
widen and deepen the whole "drain" as Skana had called it. The yearling could see water
already pushing through their little "drain" and widening the edges itself as it was diverted
around the mouth of the den.

Her face was plastered with mud, and she looked more like a gray wolf on top of
her body plus a brown wolf on the lower half of her body. Narimé was shivering violently
because of both her wet fur and the globbed mud attached to her lower half which seemed to
suck out any warmth her digging should have been generating. The young wolf couldn't feel
her frozen legs anymore, but somehow she was able to still move them in order to dig.
<b style="color:#FFFFFF">"Are we..d..d..done yet?" her teeth chattered as she
asked Elettra the question. Then for a second she lost her footing and fell face
forward into the muddy drain. Picking herself up Narimé sneezed and began cleaning
off the mud from her nose and mouth. After she could breath clearly the young wolf looked
pleadingly over to her alpha shivering as she stood ankle deep in the drains water.

Her rock through it all. . .she had not seen him once, nor had she heard of him. No knowledge of his presence was granted to her and it upset her highly. She had not seen him, heard from, or of him. Was he alright? Elettra’s strong grip slightly loosened and she felt herself being nudged forward, towards another. Hm. . .she wondered who it could be. Her three useable legs moved shakily in the water as she moved forward, her fur covered in mud and her good eye blinking furiously to clear her vision. When she felt the presence of another her nose sniffed the pelt curiously. So familiar. . .but who? She hardly knew anyone in Willow Ridge, with the exception of a few. Her muzzle stretched in front of her, barely grazing the fur. . .but she knew. In an instant she knew the pelt, the build, the softness. It was Koda. Her body flung itself near his, her own body shaking furiously.

It was as if she were living her nightmare all over again. What if the creek flooded again, what if they didn’t have enough wolves to help save one of the pups? What if someone got hurt? Her heartbeat was racing furiously, and she was suddenly so sure this was the most terrified she had been in awhile. Her broken(still trying to mend) leg lay limp behind her. Water was up to her chest and her emerald eye blinked furiously until, finally, her vision seemed to be cleared. Her face then lifted up so she could see his eyes and her heart melted once again and a small pained whisper escaped her, "I missed you. . ."

Exiting from the den with Nina in her grasp, Skana did not notice Koda's entrance during the chaos. Once Nina was safely over solid, dryer ground, Skana released her scruff from her jaws. Looking up, her eyes found the male. Inwardly, she was surprised he had bothered to show at all. Her calculating stare lingered on him, and for a moment longer she stared at the strange reunion between the alpha and the patient. It was a moment obviously personal, though entirely confounding, and Skana's brow furrowed in thought before she averted her gaze, turning instead to the project of excavation. She sighed with relief when she saw that the work that had already been done was satisfactory. The pack had managed to figure things out themselves, despite her vague instruction. There was still much work to be done to make the den waterproof, but the slope that had been done thus far was managing well enough to at least stop the flow of water inwards.

She nodded at Elettra's words before joining those already digging. She scraped at the muck with one massive paw, favoring it over the crippled one. She hoped that no one might notice, or if they did, she hoped they would not think she was being lazy. She moved dug as quickly as she could manage, occasionally lifting her head to check their progress. On one such check, she spotted the grey yearling shaking with cold and exhaustion. The girl had been tireless in her efforts to bail out the cave, and Skana thought surely she, along with the rest, deserved a break. Skana looked to Elettra, to whom the question had been directed. It was her leader's place to say whether the pack could be done for the night, but Skana thought that that all of the others... with maybe the exception of Koda, had done more than enough already. She hesitated before speaking, making an effort to lower her head in submission, so that her thoughts would not be taken as commands. "It might be time to call it a night. I think what's been dug out so far will be enough to dry things off enough to deal with in tomorrow's light."
