Hati “Taras” Roukan
@Silver
(So a bit lame and repetitive, sorry. Second post in a row. :3)

He ran, adrenaline pumping through his veins, strides growing longer and more powerful. His black head was close to the ground, eye squinting to protect itself against hanging branches or those protruding from fallen trees. So many obstacles only made the race more exhilarating and Hati nearly forgot the dark female following behind him. At least, he hoped she was following. He had not hung around to wait and see what her reaction would be to the sudden change in direction that, if nothing else, was to avert any continued discussion on what he should be called by.

The forest thinned, and still he sprinted with all his strength and zero brains. He felt as if he was running from something, that he had to get away from it at all costs or his very existence would crumble. He knew what it was. Silver. She was breaking the barriers that had been slowly built around him over years of life as a loner in exile and there was nothing he could do to stop it. Not that he wanted to anyway. But it is a hard thing for one to face when all he has ever known abruptly changes, for the better or the worse.

Then the brook appeared out of nowhere; somehow he had not heard the sound of its gently flowing waters, and he was unable to see so far left with his right eye. He felt paws strike air and his sleek body tumbled into the muddy waters head first. Fortunately it was not deep in this place and, after struggling to gain footing on the slimy bottom, he managed to propel himself back up to the surface. There, for a moment, he was only a scrawny mess of a water logged fur-ball frantically treading water. If Silver had seen him...he would never, ever live this down.

Hati's muddled brain tried to regain its bearings but somehow couldn't; he kept turning in circles and, unsure of which bank he had fallen from, stayed that way. Eventually he picked the levelest and crawled out of the brook with a mighty shake that sprayed water in all directions. Silver? His single eye glanced around in search of her black figure.

Silver had been following her new friend before they came to the brook. Giving a tilt of the head at her friends' damp fur she started to wonder if he fell into the brook. "Im sorry about calling you Scar, maybe we can try and decide on a name later?" Giving him a nudge on the shoulder she smiled softly at him. The sky had started to have a purplish color mixed with oranges. It gave the brook a rather fairy tale setting. Sitting down she stared into the water at all the fish swimming by. The fish appeared small and not big enough for a meal. Though she wanted to get something for her friend to eat as he seemed to be looking a bit hungry.

Sniffing around she thought she smelt a rabbit nearby. Maybe it had been the one she tried to catch earlier but failed. Scanning the area for any sight of the rabbit she saw it on the other side of the brook. Crouching down she tried to jump over the water but ended up slipping on the moss into the water. Silver now sat in the water embarrassed and cold. Though not giving up she instantly sprang up and chased after the rabbit.

Being close enough to at least grab a leg she took the bite and succeed. Taking the rabbit back to the dark male she now was able to jump over the brook with ease. Setting the rabbit down in front of him she wagged her tail softly "You looked a bit hungry." Silver nudged the rabbit towards his paws and sat down. It was important for him to eat if he wasn't part of a pack. As she had been a lone wolf most of her life (before joining The Trail) she knew it was important for loners to have someone to fall back on. A support system incase anything happened to them.

Hati “Taras” Roukan

Apology accepted.

He wasn't one to hold a grudge and Silver definitely didn't deserve it. The offense had not been willed, but was merely due to ignorance. A pang of regret shot through Hati as his eye followed her movements about the bank. He would never get to tell her his name, or where he came from, or why he was in such a state. Though he was glad of her companionship, each moment spent only reminded him more and more of this fact. He felt as though he was cheating her. She already trusted him, and yet he was so untrustworthy, but nothing could be done to let her know.

Silver had wandered off, so Hati contented himself alone by laying with his paws hanging into the Clandestine, watching his reflection distort as schools of tiny fish darted to the surface after a spider or mosquito and sent ripples in all directions. A sudden splash a ways down the brook startled him into a full standing position. Silver had fallen into the brook and was now standing in the water looking very much ashamed. Hati's mouth opened half way and his eye sparkled, and had it not been for the scar on his throat he would have laughed. But more at himself, for he had done the same thing only minutes ago.

Silver got over it quickly, though, and disappeared into the trees on the other side of the stream. Hati flopped onto his back and rolled around in the fallen leaves, a feeling of warmth threatening to force its way into his heart. But he never could let it in, for it had been denied to him for so long it did not belong there.

Suddenly Silver was standing there, a rabbit in her jaws and a happy wag in her tail. Hati grinned and flipped himself over, nodding his thanks before tearing into the tender rabbit. Once it had been completely devoured, aside from the largest of the bones, he leaped up and, without warning which was his curse, bounced towards Silver playfully. It was time for a game.

Silver watched him as he ate the rabbit. She felt happy that he had seemed to accept her apology and move on. As he finished his meal he seemed to bounce towards her. Letting a playful bark come out. Now she had been in a playful position with her tail high wagging. Bouncing forward she missed her friend by inches. Rolling over onto her side a big smile with white pearly teeth showed on her dark face. It was funny because she never had this type of interaction before. Never was it playful, it had always been love or anger. So this was something new for her. It made her heart a bit warm the more she interacted with him.

Springing back up to her paws Silver circled her companion as if he was a meal. Making sure he knew it was in a playful way she kept the wag to her tail from earlier. Her fur seemed to be puffed a bit from her excitement. Though one thing kept tugging at her. What would @Ace think about the smell of another male on her fur? Certainly he would understand, right? She had always been so forgiving to him. Especially after hearing that he watched someone drown. She had been almost fine with that, so certainly this small thing would be fine. It wasn't like she was cheating on him, for Silver swore her heart to him. And she had only just met the male in front of her. Yes, everything would be fine.

Keeping her thoughts hidden with the smile and wag Silver kept taunting the male to make a move at her. Dashing to the front of the loner she watched the way his body moved trying to find out what he would do next. Would he try to get her or would she have to be the one to make the first move? But whoever would move first, Silver already thought this was a fun game. Or whatever one may call it.

Hati “Taras” Roukan

Even while Silver was new to the sensation of careless play, the moment Hati moved towards Silver he felt awkward and young. It had been over four years since he had romped with another wolf in such a fashion and, though he didn't actually forget how, it was as if he never had. Pure delight made his movements loose and purposeless, simply for the joy of moving. But that was way playing was all about; to forget the worries and burdens of tough life. Hati followed Silver with his eye as she circled him only a couple yards away.

He could tell she was taunting him. Her steps were impish and her pretty golden eyes were burning with mischief as she invited him to make the first dash...which he did gladly with all abandon. A single bound carried him the short distance and he landed lightly with his front paws on her shoulders, pushing her away with his hind legs and a toss of his head. But before his full force could have its impact he danced away again. Now his red tongue hung low from his mouth and his tail wagged furiously as he rushed in for a second play attack more serious than the last. This time he body slammed her in a way that hopefully wouldn't deliver pain and put his mouth around her neck softly, teeth barely pressing against her dark fur. He stood over her like this, a grin painting his face, ready for her response.

I PPed @Hati, want something changed let me know

Silver stumbled a bit when the male body slammed her. But when she felt his jaw around her neck she decided she had enough. Slipping out from his grasp she pushed him over pinning him. Her teeth where right in his face and her tail was raised. Had she been thinking maybe she wouldn't have acted this way but Silver hated it when something layed their teeth on her. A deep and low growl came out from her. Nothing was said as she stood over him, her hot breath in his face. Now it was certain she was the dominate one even if she wasn't trying to prove that.

Once Silver thought she had been holding the male down long enough she stepped away from him allowing him to stand up. Finding a safe way down to the water Silver lightly walked into it trying to avoid slipping on the mossy rocks. Dipping her head down she took a few laps before turning her head to see if the male had followed "I still have to figure out what to call you." she said hoping that he had followed and that she wasn't talking to herself. The cold refreshing water soothed her throat and her paws. The fish that had been there earlier were now gone after her falling in. A small smile fought its way onto her dark features before fading away. She knew that Ace was waiting for her at home. He was probably worried about where she was. So she knew she would have to leave soon.

Hati “Taras” Roukan

Play fighting apparently wasn't Silver's thing. Good to know for future reference.

Silver's sudden switch had been entirely unexpected, leaving Hati stunned as he was knocked against the ground. Had the company been more spirited than she had shown he would have been on his guard, ready to prove himself dominant like he usually was, but this he was entirely unprepared for. Everything that had been assumed about the beautiful she-wolf was shattered in the instant she sprang; she was a wolf with more than one side, as he himself was.

Annoyance tinged his thoughts and expression as he watched the victor pick her way down to the brook as if nothing mattered, following up her act with nothing. It was left wide open for him to undo what she had done, which undoubtedly he would take advantage of. As a loner he was not accustomed to giving way without a fight. Over many years spent as such he had acquired enough skill in battle that he little doubted that a match between the two would be quickly victorious. Not that a fight was what he wanted. Likely it would only require subtle body language. Hati rose from the awkward position he had been knocked to and followed her with cautious steps, all the while wondering in the back of his ebony head if she had thought to abandon him then with that rush as a parting farewell. He was of no mind to leave her yet unless she so wished. It seemed not, for her next words spoke of a future with paths still together.

He joined her at the water's edge with a high head and tail and a blank face. The message he hoped to convey was simply that what had just happened meant nothing in the long run and he would act as if it had not happened...if she would. If not, then whatever was between them would change swiftly; Hati wasn't about to let her keep the position she had elevated herself to.

Still perturbed he glided into the Clandestine without bothering to await her response. If Silver agreed with his terms she was welcome to join him.

Crappy post :(

Instantly she understood his reaction. He wanted to be the dominate one. Yet Silver replied softly trying not to get worked up "Okay, I understand you want to be the dominate one. Though how about we make a deal? We both pretend that never happened and call it good?" That actually sounded like a pretty good idea to her. Hopefully her partner would agree. Maybe he wouldn't and he would just walk off clamming he was the more dominate one. If that was to happen, so be it. Silver wouldn't stop him. She had no reason to stop him.

She waited for something from him before she would leave. Silver wanted them to leave on good terms, not on bad terms. Nodding her head to her friend she couldn't help but frown and nudge him one last time. "I hate to cut this short, but I must be getting back to my Mate. He is probably concerned about me. But hopefully we can meet again another day." Silver placed her nose softly on his. She smiled at him in a soft kind of way before turning to depart. She felt bad leaving him alone but maybe someone out there would take him in for what he was on the inside not what he was on the outside. Because what you are on the outside is just a mask that you use to hide what's on the inside. Quiet a shame how some people used their mask.

Hati “Taras” Roukan

The dark female had agreed with him entirely, which gave Hati a feeling of relief. He only felt annoyance towards the fact he hadn’t been able to just let it go, he couldn’t handle being less dominant than this near-stranger. But nothing had come of his persistence so all in all it wasn’t a big deal. Perhaps Silver would like to swim with him? He turned back and his heart dropped as he looked into her golden eyes filled with sadness and another emotion he couldn’t quite place.

He dog-paddled quickly back to the bank and climbed onto dry ground not even bothering to shake the cold, muddy water from his soaked black pelt. His eyes drilled into hers, but he couldn’t speak to ask her what was wrong. She seemed to understand though, for she reached forward and nuzzled his cheek with her nose, a touch which sent sharp tingles all throughout his body. But still they meant little, for he knew she had a mate and because of which he would never be able to do anything about the instant affection he had felt for the beautiful she-wolf he had met less than an hour ago.

When she spoke his heart sank even lower; Silver would leave, and once again he would be on his own. He thought about stopping her, forcing her to remain with him. But it was only in the back of his mind where reality never reached. Instead he nuzzled her back and, even as she turned to return to her home and her family, he left also, following the Clandestine Brook north.
