The search for prey took Gent out away from Hollowheart Keep's homestead den, and each step brought no sign of anything worth running home about. He'd been lucky to even spot a hare, much less be able to capture it. The mounding snow made pursuit extremely difficult, though he'd tried at every opportunity to catch something worth taking home and adding to the cache; which at this point might have been anything. Hunger starting to gnaw at him once more, he passed through the blackberry fields in compete solitude, as though the snow had buried everything and everyone but him. |

Danica
Though she wanted to be done with the world outside of her pack's boarders, it seemed to desire her. She would try and fight the temptation with her all little might, but she didn't prove to be too good at this. Once again she found herself warily at the edge of her home. A scent had drifted to her little black nose. Who was it? She couldn't place a name, and it wasn't familiar. Curiously she huffed out a nervous breath and set out through the thickets. Like before, when she had found Liam's dead body, she marked her path using her scent glands.
It was a tiresome trek through the snow, but before she knew it she stood at then end of the thickets. It was beginning of a new and possibly scary land. She glanced around for the male wolf and soon found him. His fur was a rich blue-ish black that intrigued her. *I wonder if his face is as handsome as his coat?* She questioned herself idly.
Summoning her courage furthermore she chased after him at full speed. She wasn't fallowing in an aggressive manner, just trying to catch up with Gent. Long growing legs stretched out far before returning underneath her as she propelled forward in the snow. Determination filled her Emerald green orbs as she went.
"Wait up, sir!" She called out behind him while slowing into a steady walk. Panting she looked at him with great interest. Then it struck her, the fear, she had never met some one new alone before. Danica fought with her tail as it tried to sneak beneath her legs. Instead she stiffly wagged it, whispering to herself. "This was a very very bad idea," In a hushed voice. Watching him and waiting for a reaction she stumbled anxiously over her words. "I-I ma um a, I'm I'm, a I'm a Danica." Mentally she smacked herself for sounding so dag on stupid. *Talks about guts.* She taunted herself.

Gent Lieris
What he hadn't counted on was the tail to be a youth, a little girl with wide beryl eyes light as a spring grass and a stutter to her greeting. Gent instantly ceded to her presence, halting his steps and turning to face her. It wasn't the best choice if Hollowheart Keep's secrecy was to be kept, but he assumed that a lie would be easy and harmless to spin and thus this interaction would not have any negative effects. What the situation did give him was the opportunity to impress upon her; she looked at him with both intrigue in fear, a delicious mixture of emotions that often hinted at malleability. |

Her heart pounded so loudly she swore she could feel it in her ears. *Your pack is near by, your a princess. Grow some a...yeah.* She thought lifting a shaky tail. "Y-you are here why, Gent?" She asked nervously. She tried to make her voice seemed curious. However, the thought of telling her mother all about this encounter lingered. Probing the male might due them some good if he wasn't a loner, like she suspected.
He did have a handsome face, like she had secretly desired him to, but oh those eyes. She found herself momentarily mesmerized by the piercing blue shade. She stared till he spoke then shied away some. Flattery filled her as she took his words as a compliment, "Oh, my Mother and Hollow are back in the Thickets." It seemed to fly over her head that giving out her father figure's name might not been a good idea.
She gave Gent a weak yet cute smile. She now assumed he wasn't going to attack her, not with that charming glance he offered. She felt free to eye her paws in the situation. An odd feeling of nervousness filled her instead of the normal one. Building up some courage she asked him, "Are you in a pack too? If not...maybe you could join mine?!" She got excited at the end, raising her head some. A little tail wagged quickly behind her. *I would love to have some one new around, especially some one friendly.* She though before, *He still hasn't proved himself and could be dangerous.* This dimmed her joy somewhat.

Of course she would ask him questions as well. It was very likely that she was the offspring of whatever duo reigned over this quadrant, making it even more crucial that the boy pull off a successful batch of lies. In which he had one hundred percent confidence that he would accomplish. She was a shy little thing, fluttering like a butterfly at his paws, but whatever unnerved her did not keep her from saying what she wanted to. |

Danica
Her head dropped in disappointment at first when he had said that, *To bad *. She thought before forgiving him, " Don't worry, you didn't trespass." Her voice lost it's shyness for the moment being. Danica was quickly becoming disinterred with him.
"W-" *Lie, he has a pack in need of food as well.* She wasn't sure of what harm they could do, if any at all. "The herds left our lands, we haven't been doing so good. In fact, that's why I'm allowed to roam this far away." She didn't like the feeling in her little gut, but cast Emerald green eyes down sadly. To add to it she spoke some truth, "After my eldest brother died things haven't been nearly the same... plus my father returned after his betrayal" Now a tear for more affect was easy at the mention of Tacoma. However, the hatred of her dad at the time being was evident.
The girl awaited Gent's reaction; Shock, sympathy, no care? Only time would tell. For now she stood in the cold waiting. Then an idea came to her head, "Well I should probably go report the emptiness around here to Mum or Hollow." She spoke nervously, slowly and cautiously turning away from him.
As soon as she turned she saw them on the horizon. A deer herd, instantly she turned and fought weakly against her shyness and fearfulness. Her tail rose and lips parted to bare teeth. " That meal belongs to MY pack." Her voice wasn't as mean as intended, but displayed her building fright. *He needs that food as well do we. I don't know what to do. *

Gent Lieris
Gent was not pleased with her response. She claimed that there was no food, making his traveling this far nearly completely worthless, and the mention of her familial sorrows only confused him on the hierarchy of the pack; who was this Hollow then, a leader or the schmuck who got stuck with some broad's bastard children? And to top it all off, he wasn't entirely trusting of the girl's performance. She might have some natural talent for telling lies, but it was hard to fool a practiced spinster such as Gent. Still, he gave her the benefit of the doubt, seeing little reason why she would not be honest with him. |

Iopah Reinier
Her patrol was not meant to be.
Feeling guilty this morning Iopah had stepped to the edge of their land with the intentions giving the others a break. She spent her days in search of food, coming and going, without doing her own share of time guarding the thickets. No one had said anything, but her guilt weighed on her nonetheless. So, as the sun broke over the thickets, Iopah found herself slowly trotting along the borders. Nose to the ground, stopping to reinforce the markers as she saw fit. Pausing at slight noises from beyond. It was only mild surprise when she became aware of Danica's scent.
Iopah held herself back for a moment. How long ago had she left? Danica needed to learn how to find her way back, needed to realize the world was a dangerous place. She could only learn these things on her own. Iopah yawned, waiting for what she felt would give the youngster a good head start. It would blow up in her face if Danica turned around to see Iopah following only a few paces behind. The plan was for her to only think she was by herself.
Idly, she started out after her. Sinking her feet deep into the fresh snow. Shoulders rolling languidly with the slow, easy pace. In the past few weeks she'd spent as much time on the move as when she had been a lone wolf. She was thin, to be sure, but her muscles were unrelenting under her winter coat.
The breeze brought two unexpected scents to her.
A strange male. Her hackles rose, lips pulling back from ivory teeth. And deer.
Iopah burst onto the scene, growling lowly at the male's proximity to Danica. Stiff-legged she stalked forward, burning gaze focused on Gent. It was obvious she did not trust him, but she held her tongue until she came to rest beside Danica. Her eyes dropped to the girl, scanning quickly, before reaching out her muzzle as if to press it against her shoulder in a reassuring gesture. "Who is your friend Danica?" She looked from Gent, to the deer, and then back. Her eyes narrowed in suspicion.

Hollow Nite
Hollow's eyes were almost dark in thought over what he would do to help Secret Woodlands through this winter. Surely the pack looked to him for answers and it was his duty as Alpha to come up with a decision on what he could do to provide for his family in these icy winds. His eyes appeared to dim to a near murky blur with his nose to the ground, the search for food at the front of his mind. It wasn't until he found Iopa and Danica's scent that his ears perked. Iopah was expected, Danica less so, but what intrigued him was the scent of them both leaving the territory, and so with a light growl the shadowy leader of secret woodlands followed the princess and huntress.
Soon he came upon both of them. His first reaction a nod to Iopah, and a hiss to Danica. "Get over here!" Hollow rose to his full height, he had no intention of a fight, but if need be he would battle this pack smelling wolf. He huffed at Iopah coaxing her behind him as well, and following up with a stern glare to assure she understood just what exactly it was Hollow was doing. "Hello sir, I notice you are close enough to my lands to come across my lead huntress and one of our young royalty... what brings you here?" Every word held the tinge of threat, before Hollow would trust this male he had to know that he was okay. Not here to gather intel for another pack.
