@Beren - title inspiration is my something my brother said... "So basically, his roommate was being a god-level wingman?"

Once she had a slight hold for what the territory of Silent Moon Plateau was and where it was located, she had decided to wander into the rise below in order to collect herbs. She had listed as one of her skills a basic knowledge of healing and she intended to prove it. Basic was the key word and somehow she would need to find a mentor if she was to widen her knowledge. Hunting and fighting were going to be her main focuses with healing off on the side for when she had time in between patrols. She knew that because of this, she would likely only hold her basic knowledge unless Phineas requested that she find a mentor to train her in the arts that she knew to be complicated.

Regardless of what she had just been thinking about, she was in the rise with wilted flowers for a purpose. It was time to find some basic herbs that she could only hope she would actually find. She sighed as she pushed her way through the red flowers. She intended to make it a quick trip down and back so she could not afford a distraction. She was new to the pack, and the fact that the pack itself was new was no exception, and so she had to earn her stripes and prove herself. It was the same as in every other pack. She vaguely remembered testing new members in their arts until she could report to her father that they were good enough to be a wolf of Heartbreaker Col. Those memories had long since repressed. She preferred to forget them. Burn my lungs and curse my eyes.

@Aesire

Curse himself, and curse him until he had to dig his own grave. He didn't know why but he couldn't have stayed in the last pack. They made him feel a bit uncomfortable. So tight, all like royalty, then there was him. Wanting to have fun, dancing through the woods, playing with the birds. All so unusal it seemed like. It made him feel awkward that he was the one who seemed crazed and delusion while everyone (even the pups) were so well mannered. Maybe he just didn't belong.

He needed a new home. Somewhere where he knew he would fit in. Some place where rules existed but he wouldn't be seen as odd for having some goofy fun. So lost in thought the dark Dunn yearling didn't notice the female in the field. In all her beauty with wilted flowers in the field. Only when he noticed it he realized how close he was to her. He stood a good five feet before stopping. He didn't know if she was safe or not. Barking out to her softly he announced his presence. "Good day miss. Beautiful day for a stroll." He offered an ivory teethed smile to her and a respectful nod.

Taking a few steps back he looked down to the ground trying not to feel so odd. He had just interrupted her, and whatever she was doing, with his sudden appearance. Hopefully she was a kind female and wouldn't mind his face as company. Of course he wouldn't be bothered if she ran him off too.

The girl had not even noticed the raven colored man until his voice interrupted her deep concentration on what she had been doing. She looked up from her search with a soft smile grazing her face. He seemed so nice and proper in his diction and stature but he also had that free element to him. He didn't smell like a pack wolf so she didn't know what to think. She was cautious, placing up her emotional and mental walls while keeping that friendly smile on her face. She was going to be pleasant and nice, as her nature demanded, until he gave her another reason to be spiteful and cruel. She could destroy the entire world but she was a good girl and so she wouldn't do it.

Her pleasantries would carry to her tone but her cautious attitude was to be expected given that his man was a stranger in her midst. "Hello sir. I suppose it is a nice day for a stroll by I'm here on a mission." She stated it with a subtle hint of respect that she wasn't even aware she was putting out. Aesire set down one of the wilting flowers in her mouth and tilted her head towards the stranger. "I'm Aesire but you can call me Aes. What is it that you call yourself?" She asked him as she looked around for other wolves that might be in the area. Her emerald eyes being thorough in the search until she was confident that it was just the two of them. She took a deep breathe as she turned her attention back to the loner in front of her.

"I'm here on a mission."

So she was one of those wolves. Another stuck up tight beast ready to whip wolves like him into shape. Well that's what he thought, until she seemed to loosen up a bit and introduced herself as Aesire. And she offered a nickname too. Aes. It was short but still held all the beauty of her full name.

"My name is Bérengère Dunn. But most call me Beren, and few call me Bear."

He wagged his tail softly with his dashing handsome smile still plastered on his dark face. Taking a seat softly he took in a deep breath through his nose to gather up any and all scents. Flowers, fresh air, some old animal scents, and a pack. He knew that the pack wasn't coming off of him, as he was a loner, so it must have been coming off of her. Interest and curiosity now drew onto his face.

"Where are you from? You don't smell like your from around here.." His voice was soft and held all the curiosity in the world. "I mean..you don't have to tell me if you don't want to. Or can't. I'm just a tad bit curious is all." His skin heated up beneath his fur and he lowered his muzzle to point at the ground and so did his eyes. He was a bit nervous that he might mess this meeting up. She could be his saving grace, he needed to get this right.

This tail had wagged softly and she did the same in return, her tail matching the pace of the swarthy young male. Aesire listened as he called himself by quite a few names. She smiled a bit more as she considered sharing her other nicknames. Most of the names were boring so she decided to leave them out of the pile. He commented on her smell and at first she was taken aback. Not like you smell better yourself. The bitter thought did not dare reach her vocal chords as he explained himself. Her walls to block out unwanted feelings and emotions were still intact as she kept emotions from passing her emerald gaze. She thought carefully about how to answer his question without getting it wrong.

Was she supposed to give information away about her pack? As a very new member who had yet to earn her stripes and make a name for herself, she figured it would be best to keep it vague until she knew more about him. The testosterone in the pack was low based on the number of men she had scented around. Two or three compared to the seven or eight females that she had smelled around. Each wolf have a very distinct scent (as far as she could tell) and she noticed his was bland like that of a loner's. Yes, he was a loner and there was no mistake that her previous guess at the fact had been quite correct indeed.

She would find the words to answer the question, being very clear and decisive while avoiding answering the question fully. "I'm from a pack up near the mountain range. I'm new there, hence the "mission" to collect herbs. I have a basic knowledge in healing and want to make sure that if this knowledge is needed, I have the supplies." She explained as her head turned away from him. There was the scent of rabbits. No doubt it was a colony or warren of rabbits. She turned back to him with a wicked grin. "Wanna go and hunt?" She asked it in a whisper as she looked back towards the scent of the tracks.

Beren soaked in all her words and information. A pack? He needed that right now. He needed a place to go. Beren was no fool and knew that if he didn't find a home soon he likely wouldn't survive in these lands much longer.

Once again the pretty woman spoke her words again, this time a more inviting sort of way. "Wanna go and hunt?" Her voice was barely a whisper that reached her ears. "I'll hunt with you on one condition." He paused in between to allow her to take his words and listen carefully. "If I successfully get a catch with you, then you take me back to your pack. If not, then I'll gladly leave and never see you again. Deal?" The young Dunn's face had a smirk now placed across ebony lips.

Before they would began hunting the dark yearling wanted the green eyed girl's word on his little deal he made. In his mind he thought it would be an okay sort of deal. He needed something and she could help him out. So why shouldn't she? Hopefully the other girl would see it the way that Beren saw it. Or maybe she wouldn't and fully reject him. Sending him away to go search else where for help and home. Who knew? All he did know was that this was certainly an interesting meeting.

He spoke, offering his peace and she looked at him with a confused look. She could catch the rabbits by herself, and him catching rabbits for himself offered her nothing so why exactly was he trying to make a deal to only benefit himself? Unless he thought she was some high and mighty high ranked wolf... but she had also said she was new. She frowned, speaking in a calm and elevated regal tone. "As I've said, I'm new and I don't think my alpha would appreciate me bringing some random loner who I just met to the borders. Another thing, how does you catching rabbits benefit me? I mean, I'll be catching them too. I can direct you towards the borders if you would be interested in a conference with him. His name is Phineas." She was planting a suggestion because she knew she should not uphold his conditions. They were close, and perhaps if he did succeed, she could suggest words he might be able to say in order to sway the alpha's favor. He was a slippery minx it would seem.

She started off towards the trails, hoping he would follow and not take her response as a 'no can do' because that had not been what she had implied even if it might have come out like that. She narrowed her emerald green eyes, her mind focused on the task at hand. The rabbits were soon in site, eating foliage in the distance. She held a joker-like grin as she slipped around and rushed the rabbits from behind. They scattered as she had expected and so she raced after two that were running back towards where she had been talking to Beren earlier. She snapped her jaws, managing to overtake one. It was in her mouth, trying to escape when she bit down, killing the animal. Now she could eat lunch! Yum.

Not responding to her words he just made a slight grunt to let her know that he at least somewhat agreed with her response. Following closely behind her he watched her snatch one with such grace and preciseness it was almost godly. She looked so perfect even if she had just killed something. Her looks were certainly much more exciting and tasteful then her words had been.

When he assumed it was his turn to take a hare he went after a stray one. It would lead him onward. Twisting and turning. Until...poof. It had slipped down a rabbit hole into what seemed like another world. Sticking his nose in the hole he gladly scented it but couldn't quite grasp it in his mouth. Agitated and upset he barked and snarled into the hole. Perhaps if he could just rush it out. Offering a few more snarls he came to the conclusion that the small creature was happy to stay pent up in its hole till he was gone for good.

Turning his body he strolled back to the emerald eyed lady. Looking down a bit disappointed he rolled his shoulders slightly. "I guess we can't all be as good at hunting these little creatures as you are Miss Aesire, eh?" He offered a stiff chuckle hoping to lighten the mood. Of course the dark yearling was sure there was other things the two could do together before parting and leaving each other.

@Beren - Bad Aes has rude thoughts

She would watch carefully as the man made an attempt at hunting the rabbits with her but she fought back a chuckle when the rabbit disappeared into a hole it probably called home which had left Beren with a lack of rabbit to prove that he had some skills. He returned as he tried to lighten the mood and she set down the rabbit at her paws so she could speak. "The only reason you didn't catch it is because you didn't follow me and try to catch one while I was catching one." She defended what was left of his dignity with a simple response. The mottled lady examined Beren and asked a question she thought Phineas would ask if he were to happen to come across the pack borders.

She knew exactly how to word it - just like how Phineas had worded it in her join thread. "What do you have to offer the pack I call family?" She asked him that question for her own assessment as to whether or not to give him wrong directions or not. She felt kind of back about the idea of leading him on a false trail but if his other skills were like his hunting than Phineas would have her hide for suggesting that the man find solace in Silent Moon Plateau. She very much liked her hide where it was, on her back safe and sound. She took a deep breathe as she started to dig into her successful catch.
