Myrrhis "Myrrh" Flint
"I give my absolute word that it will not come back to haunt me nor will it come to harm your children and pack mates." Myrrhis steadfastly gave the oath to Phineas, the silver pelted she-wolf's orange eyes lifting up briefly to show her genuine honestly and determination. "I would never do anything to intentionally harm anyone, let alone a child. It is something I would prefer to die for before laying a single claw on them." What she spoke was true. It was part of the reason the had become a healer in the first place, because she preferred helping others over harming.

Myrrhis understood that sometimes, violence was the answer to some things but that did not mean she had to like it one bit. Fighting for family or over rank, that she could understand but mindless violence simply for the sake of it? No, that was something she could neither understand nor get behind. She preferred trying for the peaceful route instead of violence, preferring kinds words and actions to speak for her instead.

However she had no idea just what she was getting into by joining this pack, with its current tension between all the females vying for the top rank of leadership, right beside Phineas. She merely assumed the mother of his children was somewhere else, too busy to come inspect the newest potential to the pack. How wrong she would find herself within the next few days, even as the lowest ranking wolf due to being the most recent addition to the pack.

Seraphina Faye

Seraphina's ears twitched as she listened to Phineas' response. He seemed wary of Myrrhis' secret past, but willing to allow her to keep her privacy as long as she could promise it would not bring harm to his children. Phina's black lips twitched down in a quick frown before readjusting back to their normal neutral position. She could tell by the way his orange eyes continued to study the grey woman that his deepest concern was for the safety of his pack and family. Oberon, Seraphina's father, kept his pack isolated from the outside world for the same reason. Still, Seraphina had often wondered if his paranoia had not outweighed his love for his family, for his daughters, for her. That did not seem true for Phineas. The ivory King seemed willing to do anything, to brave any danger, to keep his children safe. Again, Seraphina remembered how he had been swayed by his daughter's opinion and couldn't help but wonder at how that had played out. Was it out of love and not respect that he listened to his daughter? Or both?

Myrhhis' answer interrupted Seraphina's musings. Seraphina smiled and nodded encouragingly, satisfied with Myrrhis' answer and confident that Phineas would be too. It was hard to doubt the woman's sincerity when her voice sounded so confident and filled with steely resolve. Seraphina briefly wondered if Myrrhis' determination would be enough to protect her from the violent ambitions of some of the other women in the pack. The old woman was kind, but she did not seem weak to Seraphina and Seraphina felt inclined to believe that she could stand her own against the other new members. Remaining silent, Seraphina let her brown eyes jump from Myrhhis' grey and silver form to Phineas' ivory one. How would her King react?

Phineas Argyris

He exhaled gently to himself, his tongue smoothing against the backside of his teeth as he contemplated her answer. Something felt off – but perhaps he could shuck it down to his absolute protectiveness of his youngest litter after their mother had simply left them. With a final nod, the regal bent down, sniffing the gift once more she had provided. “Then you may remain in our ranks,” he offered quietly, his tail giving an idle sweep through the air. “And thank you for the gift – I will take this to my children. Perhaps we will see you at the carcass later.” It was a suggestion that they both seek it out and fill their own bellies – perhaps, even, to call the pack together and notify them of the feast. Surely, they would all become accustom to one another in time.. and one day, Silent Moon Plateau would reach it’s potential as a functioning pack of close members.

With a nod to both, his jaws made to grip the meat, cupping it gently in his teeth before the ivory leader was off to find his trio. It was likely they weren’t together – idle paws made for exploration it seemed, with his three, but it did not hurt to check the den first. After all, a meal to fill their bellies was always appreciated.. and while it would not fill the void in their hearts, the Argyris man would leave them to want for nothing if he could make it so.

Myrrhis "Myrrh" Flint
Waiting for his response nervously, Myrrhis felt relief for when he said she could stay within the ranks. To have a place to now call home...that was a great relief, especially with winter essentially on the doorstep. Not that she would leave once winter ended but it would be better to spend the time within a pack, protected and well feed, then out on ones' own. Myrrhis bowed her head gratefully, a smile on her face as she spoke.

"Thank you for accepting me. I promise I will do everything within my power to keep the pack strong." She told him as he left, taking her gift with him to give to his children. That was why she had brought it, for her new leader to use it as he deemed fit and if he wished to give it to his children then she held on qualms about it. Stretching her legs as she stood back up, Myrrhis looked over to Seraphina and notice she had yet to give the antlers to Phineas.

"The antlers," She gestured towards the object at the other wolf's feet. She dismembered Seraphina had wanted to give them to her leader and wondered why she hadn't yet. Perhaps she did not want to interrupt Myrrhis and Phineas while they talked? "Were you not going to give them to Phineas or have you changed your mind about them?" Myrrhis would wait for Seraphina to give her answer before she left before glancing behind her, remembering her hunger and turning around to the carcass. Myrrhis would grab enough off it to fill herself and then return to the pack lands.

Speech

Seraphina watched as her ivory King walked away, her brown eyes watching him curiously. He was a different man than the kind she was used to, that was for sure. In some ways, he reminded her of her brother Riddick, one of the few siblings she had taken a liking to. Then again, Riddick wasn't always as....dignified...as Phineas was. That thought had Phina's black lips curling up into a subconscious smile. She missed her charming younger brother.

The Faye's musings were interrupted as her new friend, her pack mate, Myrrhis mentioned the antlers. Seraphim's eyes widened as she realized she had been so preoccupied with Myrhhis' acceptance that she had forgotten about her own gift."Oh! I almost forgot. Thank you for reminding me Myrrhis!" Seraphina trotted over to the antlers, but right before she took up the antlers she turned her dark head and gave Myrrhis a look of gratitude and appreciation.

"Thank you for more than just the reminder. I am glad I can call you pack mate and I hope I can get to know you better. You've done more for me than I think you know." Seraphina smiled and then turned to pick up the antlers. With one last look at Myrrhis, Phina turned and trotted after Phineas. She had no idea how he would accept her gift or if he would even care but it was important to her that she at least try. As she was chasing after him, Phina wondered if she should give him the gift tonight. He seemed in a hurry to get back to his kids. Maybe it was best if she just brought them to her den and waited for a better opportunity. With a sigh she also wondered if maybe that was her just making an excuse. Maybe she was being a coward. But what, by the Moon, was she so afraid of?
