Aesire Destine-Caravello

A deep breathe in followed by an exhale repeated in a pattern every five minutes or so was what Aesire had been concentrating on. She was taking deep breathes as she rounded the borders, taking up a border patrol for her own liking. She loved doing things and could never sit still for long due to this. She hated the idea of not doing anything. She had not even found the time to converse with any other packmates other than Seraphina but truthfully, after the tense encounter, she had not wanted to encounter any others. She should not have judged them all based off of the odd nature of one wolf but it had happened out of habit. It was easy to shut wolves out but extremely difficult to let wolves in. This was, especially, given her past.

Her pace along the borders was a steady pace as her toned muscles carried her against the snowy ground. The first winds of winter had brought a small flurry of the white flakes which made her more than cautious. I'll tell you my sins and you can sharpen your knife. Oh she remembered those words clearly. Those were the last, and rather strange, words that Rainar had told her before the life had left his body. It was that moment that had constantly plagued her with regret. It was that moment that had caused her to remain at a cold and regal stance. Perhaps that was the reason her and Sera had not gotten along. Perhaps that was the reason she shut everyone out. There was no possible way of actually knowing the cause. The snow had started to fall in light sprinkles, her eyes staying peeled straight ahead as she watched out for scents crossing or near the border. She carefully listened for calls. Take me to church.

The snow was starting to fall in light sprinkles around the Silver Male as he walked peacefully along the border, betraying the presence of winter lurking right around the corner, waiting to jump out at the land of Relic Lore and surround it in its icy grasp. Winter had already started to creep in through the valleys and trees, beginning its yearly plague of death and destruction. With this, it also brought some sort of comfort to him, as he had always loved watching the snow fall from the cloudy skies and running along frozen lakes and rivers. It gave him a sense of peace, but one that was always followed by doubt and worry.

His trek was travelled in silence as he watched the crystalline flakes drift gently to the ground in the cool winter winds, and with it was the taint of another wolf. He picked up his pace, eager to meet another fellow pack mate. It wasn't long before his silver eyes landed on a large female whose pelt was made up of earthy tones and a pair of green eyes set into a thoughtful face. "Hello!" He called out, tail wagging and a wide smile on his face. He always liked to meet new wolves, the question was if he liked them after they had had conversed and got to know one another a bit more. Slowing to a stop, his ears pricked forward as his gaze travelled briefly over her large form. "My name is Ace Caravello, second beneath Phineas. May I ask for your name in return?"

@Ace - Fell asleep last night before I could respond xD

Her thoughts had continued on in the depths of her mind as she rounded yet another corner of her patrol. She had been so focused on the path ahead of her that she had been startled when she heard a voice behind her. She turned quick on his heels in a defensive nature to come face to face with a packmate. She froze and then relaxed, offering a shy yet welcoming smile in return as the man greeted her with a name and a rank. She nodded to acknowledge the words before offering up a name to counter it. "Hello there Sir Ace. I'm Aesire Destine." She left everything else vague on her end as she examined him. He seemed strong and was evidently loyal given his scent constantly being around the borders. She examined the situation further.

The man cloaked in silver hues reminded her of Rainar and that brought bad memories. She could not blame this man for her past and she knew that, but the appearance was so similar it was hard not to. The truth to her past - they key - had been if Rainar had asked her before going to her father and demanding they marry, she would have told him yes and she would not be here, talking to Ace. She would never have ended Rainar's life. How was she supposed to live with knowing that she killed the one man she had loved? It stung but she hid it all away behind a friendly smile and a soft look in her eyes. "Have you been here long?" Her question was one out of curiosity. She wanted to learn about all of her packmates so she knew what they were capable of. She did not seek out the knowledge for evil purposes but solely so she could know them better which in turn led to knowing the pack better.

@Aesire It's okay, I just got up, soooo here ya go xD

The earthy hued female spun on her heels when he spoke, her stance becoming defensive and on edge. However, when she took in his appearance and saw that he was, too, a wolf of Silent Moon Plateau she relax and responded why a shy smile of her own. Ace bowed his head in greeting. "It's a pleasure to meet you, Aesire." It really was. She seemed nice so far, shy, but still friendly, he could, however, see a sort of sadness in her eyes, almost like she was continually reliving a bad memory. He himself often had nightmares of his past, but told no one of them, not even those closest to him. He felt like it was too personal to share with anyone. Then again, the Silver Male always had trouble showing his emotions, and often hid his insecurities from others.

Ace wagged his creamy tail behind him when she asked how long he had been with the pack. "I was one of the few loyalists that came with Phineas from down below where the pack once was Magnolia Glen, after serving underneath him for many months while other members disappeared one by one. Upon coming here many others have joined, and I hope one day that we can all become family to one another." Family meant everything to him, without it, he was lost, like a single feather floating alone on the wind, unable to choose where he went. "And what about you, miss Aesire?" Ace wanted to learn what he could about her, like he did all his previous pack mates.

@Ace - To make things a bit easier, putting this a matter of hours before Phineas' call for the tourney xD

With a deep breathe she held her facade smile. Why was it always the higher ranks such as beta and leaders taht she was shy around? He spoke of travelling a long way from another pack she had truly never heard of alongside Phineas to claim the lands that Aes and Ace now called home. He asked about her and her whereabouts and she talked, keeping her tone at a casual volume. She was nervous even though she had no reason to be. This wolf seemed much - better? - than Seraphina whom she had not had the best first meeting with. "I've only just joined Silent Moon Plateau. King Phineas accepted me about two weeks ago. Before that, for about a year or so, I was only a loner and before that I was a member of Heartbreak Col which was my birth pack." She couldn't hide the detested tone in her voice when she spoke of the pack she was born in.

It had been happenstance that she had been exiled because she had grown and developed so much from it but she still longed to take her place back where she once thought she had belonged. She had repressed many of the memories from her former home just because it had hurt to think about it. She had to be careful when it came to opening those memories - bad things tended to happen. She kept her smile as she shifted her paws a bit. "I'm afraid I'm a bit behind on the pack history - what was Magnolia Glen? Was it close to here?" A curiosity hit her as she wondered why they had moved.

Ace noticed that the earthy hued female seemed nervous, trying to keep herself casual and indifferent, and wondered why. Maybe it was because he was the second rank? Some wolves were often wary when interacting with wolves that had such a high rank, especially when they were lower down on the chain. Hoping that if he made himself look more open and casual she would cease her nervousness, Ace let his tail hang limply by his legs and lowered his head just a few inches, waves of calm and friendliness radiating from his body. He wasn't a mean wolf who flaunted his power above those under him, and he would rather his pack mates see him as an equal.

The Silver Male could hear the hatred and detest in Aesire's voice when she spoke of her birth pack and briefly wondered what had happened to make her act in such a manner towards it, but kept from asking questions. Prying into a subject that a wolf clearly didn't want to speak about was a bad idea, and he too, had secrets that he'd rather not share, so he kept quiet about it, only raising one eyebrow in response. When she asked about the history of his old pack, Magnolia Glen, Ace smiled warmly at her curiosity as he told her the basics of it, not going into too much detail.

"It was located to the east of this mountain, down in a valley by a creek. The valley was filled with lush green grass and beautiful Magnolia flowers, which gave the pack its name. We were once a thriving pack, but when the harsh winter set in wolves started disappearing, one by one, without saying anything. One of the pups died from exposure in late winter, and then after the next litter of pups were born the mother disappeared too. It was then that Phineas decided, before the next winter arrived, that he would move the pack to a place where there was no bad memories, where we could have a new start. He found this place just over a month ago and brought the rest of us here to have a new and brighter future." Ace was silent after he finished his speech, waiting silently while Aesire took in all the new information.

He raised an eyebrow and she had been almost positive he was going to ask about it. Her question about Magnolia Glen seemed to distract him from the topic as he responded to her question completely. It was a fascinating and sad story. Her heart went out to Phineas, Phineas' disappeared mate, and the siblings of the pup who died as she frowned at the matter. Was that why the alpha appeared so formal and stoic? Was it because he had lost his mate whom had been very dear to him? That was the only answer she could find to the troubling question. She took a deep breathe, trying to form words but the frown continued as the dark mottled girl attempted to put them in the correct order.

Eventually, she was able to form the right words and she asked more out of concern than anything. "It's a terrible thing to hear what has happened. How has he been taking it, do you know? It must be rough." Her tone had more of a protective and motherly appearance to it as her eyes softened to that of concern. Perhaps she could help in some way? No, don't be stupid Aes. She scolded herself as she knew she was just some random stranger whom he had accepted into the pack to do a job. She shouldn't concern herself with how he was taking it. It wasn't her place to even try and help because she did not know the man at all. "Do you like it here?" She asked, desperate to change the subject from such a depressing one to a more upbeat one... she hoped.

Aesire was silent for a few moments, taking a breath, and he presumed it was because she was trying to figure out what to say without saying something that could be taken the wrong way. Eventually she did speak, in a motherly and protective manner. Ace thought back to how Phineas had acted since Borlla had vanished, he had been more silent and formal since then, but was still the protective and good man that had accepted him into the pack. "It's been... a difficult time for him, for all of us, but we're doing the best we can. It's better now that we've moved away from Magnolia Glen. It gives all of us a new chance at being happy and free from what happened before."

The Silver Male couldn't even begin to imagine what it would be like to lose a son and a mate within months of each other. He had seen the beginnings of it, however, as the two leaders seemed more distant with each other, until one day, she was gone, without a word to anyone. So many more had left them, one of which had been a friend to him. So much pain and loss the wolves of Magnolia Glen had felt that it was like none of them would ever see the light of day ever again. Now they had a second chance to break free of everything and start a new life for themselves.

"I do, actually. It's a... serene place, especially at night when you can see the moon hanging far above in the sky. I often find myself staring up at it, wishing good on my family and those around me." Ace smiled almost shyly at the earthy hued female as he spoke, hoping she didn't think him weird for what he did in his past times. "What about you?"

The man answered her first question with delicacy and caution as he spoke of the troubles they had all gone through while also making a lighter note of saying that things were getting better. She nodded, her grin growing as he started to answer her second question which involved his views on the new lands. Did he like them? According to him he did because it was a perfect and peaceful setting - she couldn't agree more. She kept a kind smile on her face before speaking up herself when he asked her the same thing in return. It seemed like the start to a great friendship. Ace seemed like quite the nice guy and she wouldn't mind considering him to be a friend unlike other wolves she had met.

"I agree with you completely. I came to the mountains to find a pack because the entire place was a haven of tranquility. I love the mountains and the night sky." She was eager to agree with everything that the wonderful male had pointed out. Yes, he was definitely alright and not quite harsh or strict like most of the males she had met before her time in Silent Moon Plateau. The monochromatic man has asked the last question so she supposed it was her turn. She thought carefully about a question she could ask without her sounding too creepy or something of the sorts. "What do you like to do in your spare time - no matter how limited it might be?" It had suddenly turned into a game of twenty questions or something.
