Ace Caravello

Ace grinned back at the earthy hued female, feeling a bubbling of happiness and content flow through his body as they talked. It was so easy to converse with her, like it was destined for them to become friends. She seemed very nice, and liked the same things he did, which was always a good start on the road of friendship. Having things in common was what made friends so close, as they would agree on almost everything, but that wasn't all friendship was. It was also being there for the one that needed you most, providing comfort in times of need, and just being around for company and good times. He himself didn't have many close friends, and he hoped someday to remedy that. Maybe this would be that start of that.

"Yes, just being up here is so peaceful, like all of your worries disappear for a while and nothing bad can happen. My mother once told me when I was younger that the closer you are to the stars at night, the closer you are to your family, and family is important, is it not?" He smiled at her, not necessarily wanting an answer in return as it was a mostly rhetorical question. When she asked what he liked to do in his spare time he sucked in a breath and glanced away, brows knitted in thought. There were a few things he liked doing when he was alone and had time all to himself, but there was one thing he did most often. Ace looked back at Aesire when he spoke. "During the night I like to look up at the moon. It reminds me of my sister who was always there for me, no matter what. I just find standing there to be peaceful, and it makes a good break from all the bad things in my past. But apart from that, I enjoy swimming in the creek nearby and, I must admit I've never told this to anyone, making a large pile of snow before completely destroying it." He grinned sheepishly after he spoke, knowing that it made him sound childish, but he was, at times. "And what do you like to do when no one else is watching?" Ace said, a playful glint in his silver eyes.

He spoke of his mother affectionately as he told her of the lesson he had learned from the woman who had carried him to the outside world. Her lesson was a good one and it reminded her often of things her own mother had said to her. "Your mother must have been a very wise woman. My mother taught me many things that have helped me, though none of them about family. My own family had been filled with segregation and drama." She normally wouldn't have admitted such a fact to someone she had just met but she felt oddly comfortable around him and so she supposed that she could trust him with a small piece of her background. She remembered the words her mother would say to her whenever Aes fought against her father and his decrees. She had been a rebellious wolf at one point - her father ad broken that.

She then spoke a lesson she had learned. "My mother always used to tell me to be the change I wanted to see in the world." She supposed she should offer that important lesson with a small smile. It did help explain her nearly constant crave of dominance around the other girls in the pack. She wanted to be able to cause change and she couldn't do that from a lower rank like she held currently. When Ace spoke of things he liked to do in his free time, she listened carefully. For the most part they seemed mature and level-headed and then he surprised her. She giggled a bit at the fact he would destroy snow piles. "I don't believe you." She teased lightly with a grin before she was asked the same question. She thought about it carefully. "Oh, I'm quite boring actually. I like to practice stuff. I'll gather herbs or work on hunting techniques or even sparring techniques. Perhaps sometime you'll have to introduce me to some fun and help me build a snow pile." Everything she said was quite serious. Snow jumping sounded like a lot of fun!

"She was," Ace said quietly, his expression becoming sad and pain-filled as he began remembering all she had done for him and his siblings before her untimely end. That had crushed him the most, knowing that he hadn't been able to say goodbye to the parent that he loved the most, and it had taken him a long time to get over that. Even now, he still wished he could go back and fix it, fix everything bad that had happened to him in his past. He was broken inside, still, from all of that, but he did a good job of hiding it from others so they didn't notice everything was wrong. Maybe when he met the one, everything would change for the better. He could start again, and forget about the horrors he had seen. "Mothers, they always know best, don't they?" He said softly, smiling at Aesire.

The Silver Male chuckled when the earthy hued female said she didn't believe that he created snow piles just to destroy them. Oh how wrong she was, he'd have to show her just how much of a pup he could be when he didn't think anyone was watching. "Definitely. Pick a time and I'll be there," he said, grinning widely, imagining what it would be like to share that experience with his new... friend? "And in return you can show me some sparring techniques." Ace was good at fighting, but it was mostly brute force that he used to frighten his opponents so they would run away rather than fight. He did have skill in the art of fighting, but the option to further hone his skills was always an open to him.

Aesire gave a sad smile when he obviously saddened at remembering his mother. She wondered what had happened but she did not dare speak on it, knowing it was probably something personal. Most things were in fact personal, especially with herself. Mothers know best. "Yes, they sure do." She added sadness into her own tone as she remembered her silence mother. Her father had nearly killed her mother and had muted her so she could no longer speak. She desperately missed the sound of her mother's voice but it would be impossible for the young adult femme to hear that voice again. It had been silenced by the evil sins of her cruel and tyrannical father. She took a deep breathe as he told her to name a time and a place. She grinned slyly at him as she offered her own conditions.

"Okay, right now - well, after I finish my border patrol. Perhaps if you joined me, we could just go from there? I'd love to share some techniques with you in return but I'd bet your good with fighting as it is being a second and all. You've gotta defend your rank somehow?" Curiosity burned through as as she led the way for their walk to finish the border marking so they could have some fun. Yes, Ace was indeed a friend and yes it was safe to call him that. He seemed level-headed and mission oriented while remaining carefree and fun at the same time. She needed some fun in her life.
