Seraphina Faye
For @Aestyn

Speech .

Seraphina had followed Aestyn until they had enough room to conduct a proper sparring match. The woman had joined the pack before she had and Phina had no idea about the woman's back story, history, or skills. For all Seraphina knew, this woman was an experienced fighter. But, it didn't matter. Phina would do her best. After all, it was all she could do. Normally, Seraphina would enjoy a good sparring match as she knew this one would be, but in this situation she only felt stress. This was something she wanted to get done as soon as possible. There was too much at stake: the leadership position of course, but also her own opinion of herself.

This was Phina's first time fighting a stranger. After spending years fighting her brothers, Phina was nervous to find out how she would do against a stranger. Was she really as good as she had believed she was for all these years? It was time to find out, and Phina wanted to know as quickly as possible. This fight was not one to enjoy. This was serious, all business. It would decide her next move, one way or another, but Seraphina would certainly prefer that this match prove she was as good a fighter as she had come to believe. Eyeing up her opponent for only a brief moment, Seraphina took note of the fact that Aesire was definitely larger, but not by much. With that the dappled Faye launched herself at Aestyn, jaws open ready to take in Aestyn's muzzle and prove her dominance.

Here goes @Seraphina

So it was time to begin the sparring war game. It was time to see if all her experience of fending herself against the odds was actually worth something. Aestyn noted as the smaller dappled fae eyed her up no doubt trying to find a observable weakness. Aestyn's uncoothed sneer of a smile stayed planted on her smug facade. She watched intently as she waited to see signs of first movement from @Seraphina. Preparing herself mentally and somewhat physically she did her best to warm her toned muscles despite the nipping atmosphere. An acknowledging nod was given to her opponent as if to say good luck. This woman looked unnerved at the very least, perhaps going up against a slightly larger wolf made her nervous? But, surely she had fought someone more built than her in the past? Maybe it was the pressure to please @Phineas?
Whatever it was Aestyn had found a weakness she could use against her. Before she could think more the petite woman drew her first move bolting towards her. Apparently, @Seraphina was drawn to her muzzle. It was an interesting first move one that Aestyn quickly avoided making contact with the fae's no doubt sharp ivories by, lurching forward in a jumping manner. The counter move brought all her weight to her back limbs as her fronts landed on Seraphina's slender back as her ivories became exposed as she made a critical clenching bite into the dappled lady's shoulder. She couldn't yet tell if she had drawn blood or not. A deep darkening growl rumbled through her vocal capacity vibrating the flesh clenched between her carved ivories. Wondering what Seraphina's next move would entitle Aestyn's dominant baring growl grew louder.
Aestyn's incisors unhinged quickly as she attempted to grab the base of one of the woman's front appendages hoping she could trip her up enough to get her in a vulnerable position before her challenger had time to realize what was happening.

Seraphina's first move had been a mistake, a failure and that was unnerving. As she shot forward to grab Aestyn's muzzle, Aestyn seemed to easily avoid the attack by side stepping and instead landed her own counterattack. It was a critical hit: Aestyn's powerful jaws clamped tight around the skin of Seraphina's shoulder. The bite was tight but did not draw blood. For that, Seraphina already respected Aestyn just the slightest bit more. The woman had not tried to maim her, though she could have. But that could also simply be because Phineas had warned against such behavior.

No time to worry about that until after the fight. Seraphina tensed as the larger she wolf growled and the growled sent ripples through her own skin. Then Aestyn released the grip and aimed another one at the base of Seraphina's front leg and this attack was also a hit. Seraphina felt the woman's jaw close around her front leg and with that Seraphina's was off balance. She had to do something quick. Something big, to change the tide of this battle if there was even a shot at winning. Decisive and determined, Seraphina tried to throw all of her weight onto the leg that Aestyn had in her jaws. Hopefully she could shoulder the woman hard enough to send her back onto her haunches and then Phina would twist and go for the muzzle again. If she could just get hold of the muzzle, she was confident that she could change this fight for the better, especially if her opponent was already on her haunches.

She had been successful at first with grasping Seraphina's front leg but, she was not successful in her planned intentions of bringing the fae down to a more vulnerable state.
She could have kicked herself, if she had, had the time to do so.
Aestyn forgot how easy it was to catch your balance being lower to the ground as Seraphina was. She would not let it happen again, or atleast she prayed that way under her breath.
The rash movements from the slender female had quickly brought her back to balance.
Aestyn let a frustrated groan be voiced. Aestyn suddenly felt herself being ramped back on her haunches and before she knew it @Seraphina had enclosed her own dagger like ivories around her muzzle. Wincing briefly, she let out a gruff muffled bark as more devilish growls rummaged their way out as her ears pinned forward. The jaw lock Seraphina was holding was proving to be tight as Aestyn tried to wiggle her way out only causing more pain to her snout. Knowing she only had seconds to think of her next counter move her free flexed front limbs swung with a burning passion at the woman's own face hoping would have hit her with enough velocity and good enough timing to catch her off guard and maybe knock the wind out of her. Attempting to spring back on her two back legs again so that her height was in her favor though she knew Seraphina's canines would dig deeper into her sore muzzle causing her more pain initially. All she could hope was that her swing at her facade would make contact and a brutal contact at that.

Seraphina mentally cheered as she got ahold of Aestyn's muzzle. But her excitement had come too soon. No sooner had she gotten ahold of her opponents muzzle had she lost it. Aestyn swung her front legs and one of them hit Seraphina in the face, making her lose her grip on Aestyn's muzzle. Not only that, but the hit had been hard enough to rattle Phina's brain. She had to give her head a quick shake to get rid of the stars and regain her vision. Seraphina only had a moment to regain her senses and then Aestyn was rolling back onto her back legs so that she loomed over Seraphina. Realizing that this fight was pretty much over, Phina decided to do something reckless. It was all or nothing at this point and since this was the first match, she had nothing to lose. If she lost this she would be at the bottom and working her way up would be that much harder.

Instead of raising herself to try and match Aestyn's height, which Phina knew would be futile--Aestyn would bat her down before she could get to her back legs--Phina lowered her self so that her weight rested on her back legs but she was crouched low. Then, with all the force she had left she launched herself at the lower end of Aestyn's stomach. Hopefully she could shoulder Aestyn's stomach, knock the wind out of her, and maybe even bowl her over. This would be the only chance Phina had of getting on top and winning the match.

It had worked and now Seraphina's head was no doubt in a fog.

Aestyn's strong over baring swing at Seraphina's face had prevailed a success as she rose back on her hind quarters. She quickly realized she had just opened herself up as an open target. Tensing her whole carcass she tried to dodge the lurching charge from her competitor only to fail. Without, hesitation the woman ramped herself once again into the lower regions of Aestyn's womb. Causing her breath to be lost momentarily as she was shoved a couple feet away. Trying to regain her much need oxygen supply. Aestyn managed somehow to get back on her feet though it might have appeared sloppy. A burst of quick steps at full manageable speed sent her right back to the smaller woman this time going for her sturdily planted padders hoping to take her out from underneath her own feet like a charging pull. Two could play at this game, she thought letting out a light breathy cackle. Obviously, Aestyn was bigger built and knew she would do more damage if she played Seraphina's game. If she made contact and got Seraphina finally on her back she knew it would be over. No doubt about it! This was apparently the only way Aestyn would be able to do this. "Sweeping her off her feet", of course in a way that she wouldn't have enough strength do anything about it. It was all or nothing now, Aestyn's eyes widened as she prayed her bull dozing tactic would pay off in her favor.

Seraphina's idea had worked. She had managed to bull doze into Aestyn and knock the wind out of the slightly larger she wolf. What she hadn't counted on was Aestyn picking up on the same idea. Seraphina knew that two could play at this game and the bigger wolf would normally win. Her fears proved to be warned as Aestyn recovered her breath and mimicked Phina's technique. She charged at the dappled Faye, but aimed low. Seraphina felt her legs give out from under her as Aestyn hit. Phina flew first up and over Aestyn and then down onto the ground. As her body slammed into the hard packed earth she felt her breath rush out of her lungs. At this point it was only her strong will that kept her going. She knew Aestyn would be on her in a second, ready to pin her down and once the she wolf was ontop of her it was all over.

Instead of trying to struggle to her paws, Seraphina rolled onto her belly and pulled her paws underneath her so that she was crouched very low to the ground. She was as prepared as she could be for Aestyn's next attack and hoped her plan would work. As a last ditch effort Phina would wait for Aestyn to attack and as she came into range, Phina would shoot up and try to grab the skin between Aestyn's neck and shoulder. Of course she wouldn't try to draw blood, but she would get as strong a grip as she could and then she would use her own lowered center of gravity to try and drag Aestyn down.

Seraphina's bull dozing tactics had proved useful against herself as Aestyn had mimicked the fae's game play style.

The petite frame that Seraphina possessed went sailing a few feet away from where she previously stood. Aestyn dipped her dome down briefly as if nodding another wish of luck. The signs of exhaustion were noticeable on both parties of the competition and the numbing cold surrounding the plateau wasn't' helping the heavy amounts of icy air being heaved in and out. One final growl shot from her heaving sides as she slowly approached the recovering Seraphina. Her stance was low to the ground now doubt she had a quick thought out plan. Bracing herself as her measured paces sped up again she circled around to the back side of the crouched damsel as she attempted to lurch on top of her as her bared incisors locked aim to the side of her scruffy neck. A surprise caught her attack caught her off guard as she presumed she landed heavily on Seraphina's arched back. Razor sharp daggers broke through her flesh a bite between her neck and shoulder that was trying to pull her down. " Bad move. " she spit with fire bound words. She was only pulling Aestyn down on herself more so. Even though the fae had a hold on her, her own ivories were still free to be used. With one swift motion Aestyn's jaws unclenched and went in for right under her jawline hoping this would be the last move she would have to make to accomplish complete submission. Everything within her screamed for more of a fight but, she knew it was just a game. A power game.

Seraphina hadn't accounted for Aestyn landing on her back and her plan to drag Aestyn down ended up working against her. She was only pulling her opponents weight more on top of her and now she was vulnerable to Aestyn's own powerful jaws. As Aestyn quickly grabbed ahold of the skin under Seraphina's jawline, Phina knew the fight was over. She had lost.

"I submit." Seraphina called. The words tasted horrible, and Phina did not like having to say them. But she was a Faye and Faye's did everything with dignity. Even losing. As she wiggled out form Aestyn's grasp, having submitted to the she wolf, Phina spared a slight smile. She was disappointed in herself, but Aestyn had earned her respect. The woman was a good fighter, not just strong but also smart.

"That was a great fight. I wish you luck in the next round." Seraphina bowed her head and lowered her tail submissively in respect for Aestyn's higher ranking status. Phina was out of breath and her muscles were screaming at her to sit down and rest but before she could there was something else she needed to say to Aestyn."Credit should be given where it is due. You have certainly earned my respect and your rank above me. Im glad to call you my pack mate, but in all due respect I came here for a reason. I want to be a Leader someday and I will never give up on that dream. This is definitely not the last rank challenge we will share. That being said, I see no reason why we can't be friends and rivals. I hope there will not be any animosity between us and if you ever want to spar for fun or for practice I would be honored to be your partner." Seraphina smiled warmly at Aestyn and hoped that Aestyn would understand. The woman was strong and Phina admired that but she was also friendly and honorable and Phina valued that even more.
