The days in Silent Moon Plateau were quiet -- a welcome change from the heartache and drama that had filled his pack's lives at Magnolia Glen. His children seemed to settle in nicely, and had reached a size where they could be considered adults -- though they had a few months to go. Winter was still upon them -- the snow blanketed upon the ground with a gentle crunch if walked upon, and the frigid temperatures did not relent. Yet the sun would settle against the horizon later in the day now, and with that, Phineas knew that spring would come for them soon.. and with it, breeding season. He had no original intent to pass along his genes this year -- two litters with a lost love was certainly enough for him. But something about a certain she-wolf within his ranks intrigued him, and he found himself contemplating from straying from his original thoughts.
His thoughts were interrupted when a thick and revolting scent pulled him from his senses. His mouth went dry when his eyes befell the prints in the snow, and with sharp alarm, he realized a cat had crossed in to their territory -- one that could string along quite a bit of harm in its path.
His muzzle tilted only momentarily to usher a sharp barking howl, beckoning his pack mates to the defense as he warned them of the predators presence. With his song echoing across the Plateau skies, the ivory wolf swiftly roved forward, his paws tracing the others until his sharp orange eyes fell upon the golden cat. It was of medium build -- it's own amber eyes casting a beguiling glare to him before a rumble escaped it. Phineas' own teeth slipped past his lips, a snarl moving forward from him as he stiffened, waiting for it to either fight or flee.
