He had had his fun. It was over know with his little Haine gone. Perhaps he should have gone to look for her; as she was such his precious little gem. Yet he decided it might have been time to head back to his siblings and nephew. Of course he wasn't willing to do so right away. The aging healer knew there was much to see and he wanted to see it all. Who knew...these could be his own lands one day. While the thought was tasteful Vali was well aware there was one wolf standing in his way. Garmr. That wretched brother that he loved so much. It was like a poision he didn't want to get rid of.
In his hopeless wandering through the timless woods he had found a spot where the sun broke through. A place that made him think that Fenrir himself had blessed the lands. In a place full of filthy mutts it seemed there was a place for the wolves like Vali, if there was any, to relax. A wonderful loch that seemed like a piece of the sky had fallen. It was weird how the sky reflected off the water so perfectly. Perhaps he had been draw to this place because of its purness.
Stepping towards to body of water so it could lightly kiss his toes it was still chilling. Not warm enough for a swim but not cold enough to fully avoid. Somewhere inbetween the two that had Vali allowing it to rise up to his ankles. Washing away the mud that had clung to his legs on the travle. The aging healer could finally take a break. Clean himself and rest his paws. Hopefully he could even clean himself of the filth that clung onto his fur. A good grooming was in need.
Despite her determined dedication to her new pack, Oak Tree Bend, Anneliese still could not help her itching paws. In stark contrast to her dogged loyalty, wanderlust ran strongly through her veins. It had suited her well in her given position of 'absolute,' a special operatives role that carried out missions all over the kingdom of Vindictus and well beyond its domain. Within the Lore things were of course far different. None of the packs here had achieved anything close to Vindictus' size and reach; they also thought much differently and even at times talked funny. But given her newest alliance's trouble with rogues from the Sierra Hills, she was once again able to please both passions. |
Someone else was here. In the corner of his eyes something pale in contrast had made movement. Vali tucked his head and slowly stretched his neck to look at them. It was another foul mutt. This one gave him hope though. She had a pure coat and had found this pure place. Perhaps this was no coincidence. Maybe she was his next prey.
The aging healer had seen her lips move but not heard what it was that had fallen from such inky lips. Offering a low rumble out in his deep tones the healer offered a court nod. "I hope I haven't intruded on lands of your's Miss." Looking at her with respect and carefulness, which he hated doing but did it for a show anyways, while hoping he would hold her interest. "I was just passing through before I saw this stunning place. Any living mu-" Vali had to bite his tongue and stop himself from uttering the word mutt in front of this woman. Who knew how she would take him talking about the wolves of the Lore in such a manner. Of course if she was as pure as he was...she should have no problem with him using the word mutt. "Any living mutt would be more than privileged to live here. Such a beautiful place the way the water reflects the light and sky."
His voice trail off as if trying to perhaps lightly coat his trail. The healers tail slowly wagged behind him as he bent his head down to take a sip of the water. Breaking the seemingly untouched water. The ripples moved lightly across the surface like sound waves as Vali's tongue lapped up the water. Only the purest drink of water for the purest wolf.
but i hate you all the same
Enraptured by such an awe-inspiring waterscape, Anneliese failed to notice the man's presence until he spoke. Her ears immediately swiveled to capture his words, and her head quickly followed, vivid green eyes locking onto his scarred face. His voice drifted smoothly across the water until suddenly halting as his teeth cut into a particular word, hesitation on his part. Her visage cocked slightly to one side as this pause confused her, but then he continued and she understood. He seemed to have caught himself uttering a cuss, but then for whatever reason decided it acceptable to continue saying it anyway. It could have meant several things, and had she been back home she would have been rightly offended. After all, despite her boyish nature she was still very much a lady. However, out here in the world, she had long ago learned that things operated much differently, a swear word wasn't as severe as she'd been raised to think. |
