It had been about a year. A year since he had defended his home and received the awful marks that were permanent on his wretched face. How he hated it...how he hated himself in general. Not even two years into his life and he had already murdered someone that he cared about. While he now deeply regretted his choice, he knew that the incident would never be taken back. While he had sworn his loyalty to his birth pack, just as Ash had ensured, Yuka was always reminded of the crime he had committed. They had, after all, been right outside the pack borders. Thankfully, a body had never been found by his pack mates and his secret was safe. That being said, sometimes, when he was left within the confines of Whisper Caverns for too long, his mind would muddle and paranoia would creep into his mind. Was Ash watching his every move now? Was his mother hovering over him again? It was times such as these that forced Yuka to take some time to himself. That was, time to himself where he wasn't in pack lands, surrounded by his family.

It was why, when he started feeling anxious again, the man did not hesitate to leave his home, his large figure moving easily through the territory. Deciding that he wanted to take his life to a place that was not as dreary as the lagoon, the youngster found that his paws were taking him towards Fireweed Rise, one of his favorite places. During the spring, and approaching summer, the Thorben enjoyed the wildflowers and the sun, which he never truly enjoyed. Generally, when he went to the Rise, there was no one else there, and the tan, russet boy had no qualms with showing his face to the world. There was usually no one to judge him when he was there and it there seemed to be any interruption of his peace, he would immediately flee. Thus far, it was not the case and Yuka enjoyed the sun rays in his face while it lasted.

Holding on a rope

The tawny wolf did not care for Fireweed rise. They were a small reminder of the Glen, and she preferred to hate things that did that. Really, of all the damn places for flowers to grow right at the bottom of her new home. Tucking in a sigh, and keeping back a scowl, she descended from Silent Moon, knowing they would soon greet her. The Argyris had no want to test the nasty looking forest and  since they were the clearest way and closet from off the mountain, so be it she chose them.

As lax as she was in her gait, and posture that was simply the part she was playing. She  was quite far from "relaxed", but the world didn't need to know that. If she kept up the act long enough, it could become a reality. Her pale brown tail swayed in rhythm with her hips, and slowly her orange eyes fell upon the grassy knoll, glad to see though it hinted of flowers they were not in bloom. Maybe, she would hang out here after all.  The mountain wolf knew for a fact prey was about, and at first glance it appeared empty. Some relief she began scouring for a scent, but soon gave up on the idea. The sun was warm, and the breeze just right, she found a quiet spot and nestled down. Though she would not admit it, maybe she liked the fact this was a bit like home.

The young man had been enjoying his time out in the sun, at peace and alone. However, his peace was soon interrupted when he gained the presence of a visitor. Almost immediately, his body tensed and crouched, teal-flecked amber eyes pinned on the woman that had entered the area. His body moved silently over the area, in order to get a better look at the intruder. Instead, as soon as the Thorben got into appropriate seeing distance, his breath caught in his throat. Jaw slack, he stared at the girl, no…lady before his eyes. Never had Yuka truly been attracted to a woman but now that his eyes meet this loveliness, he found that he could simply not look away. Not only was she attractive, but simply beatific. It was why his mind immediately told him that he did not deserve her presence. The beauty should never have to meet the monster. So for the time being, Yuka remained where he was, his eyes staring longingly at her form.

An idea formulated in the young man’s mind quickly, allowing him to speak with her, without her, perhaps, having to have visage of his distortion. Pleased with this plan, the russet faced boy tilted his head awkwardly at the calculated angle had head become use to, ready to step from his place and in front of the woman. As he did so, the Guardian-in-training cleared his throat politely, allowing his presence to be clear to the lady. He was silent for several moment, not knowing how to speak to this woman. In the end, he reverted back to his formal ways, most comfortable in an area that he was well acquainted with, "Hello there, Miss…I hope…I am not intruding on any affairs that you may have here." His stance was neutral as he waited for her to acknowledge his presence. It was odd considering that he spent all of his time avoiding everything. Nonetheless, something in him wanted to speak with her. It was selfish of him but he was a growing man with the need for social interaction.
