Elettra Archer
For @Jaysyek.

Old. Elettra never liked the idea of becoming such. She should have easily expected it, however. After all, it was without a doubt (and yes, much pride on her part) that she was a very strong woman, both in body and mind. She had rose to withhold many allies, had created a powerful (although at some times chaotic) family and any enemies she had ether ended or moved off far enough to where they were not longer any threat to her. Even Grizzly Hollow, whom had arose again, had gone out of their way time and time again bringing gift and trinket to remain in her and the pack's favor. Although dying in some epic battle might have been more memorable, it was unlikely. She was far too untouchable. Though now as the cold of winter found its way chilling up her spine, she felt less and less as such.
She was tired - mentally, if not physically, for only her signs of aging had just begun to show. Her nose had not been the same since she had bashed in on the mountain side and her leg was fully healed yet stiff and sore from the snows. She was well kept, if anything, though her mind plagued her with worry. Her venture off from Willow Ridge with Angier had not accomplished anything. Isolde was still missing. Ravenna had returned from searching as well and now Skoll was out looking for her. In fact, to think that Skoll had left in search for a younger sibling he seemed to care little for at all came as much a shock. Now, Elettra found herself on the outskirts of life and hating it. She spent much of her time at the side of @Angier, making sure he damn well saw enough of her face to have it memorized by the time he lost all of his vision. If not this, she was doing what she could to tidy up what little herbs were left over winter and to, of course, secretly spy on Morganna's way of ruling. Morganna was doing wonderfully. The feeling of no longer being needed was driving her mad.
There was a certain aggression in her step as she made her way through the forest of their willowed home and north-west, arching around the meadows along the forest line until she was north of them. She had not seen Narmie is a very long time and Nina even longer. It was the price she had to pay when most of her closest allies and friends were ether gone or dead. @Enoki remained and besides Elettra's actual blood Enoki was the only one within the pack that she could call a true, loyal and lovely friend. Elettra sighs, reminiscing now as she merged from the Drooping Willows to Cedarwood Forest a friend she had not seen far longer then any other - @Jaysyek. There was none other that Elettra was a delicate with, as obedient. At the edges of the Limestone Bluff, she pauses, looking up at the from the bottom. Though Elettra has fully healed, she takes no risks now. Not out here by herself, not when she could easily die out here in the cold or taken over by a not so friendly wolf of Cedarwood Forest. Though her evaluation of the rocky structure, she takes note of an opening of what was a small cave and curiosity brings her a bit closer. ""

She might as well been a ghost for all the good she did. Whether it was true or not she felt her company was not exactly welcome. She surely was not any brightness nor warmth. Why she wasn't so worn and ragged in appearance any more she was still a bit thin, and a times the life in her eyes could appear faded. Dull. She had started eating again, patrolling here and there when she felt like it. There was no doubt the will to keep going was being diminished. Her existence seemed of little importance any more.

She padded along, trying not to succumb to her dreary thoughts. She had made a silent vow she would not just wander off and hope for the worst. Leaving someone to figure out what happened ot her. She couldn't do that to Rook. With what might she had Jayse tried to think about seeing spring again. At least one more time. But, it was such a little thing to hold to.

The white lady paced herself. She had a small breakfast, and with no one near the den she had took to walking a broken trail. Hoping maybe to converse with someone. Even if she didn't do much talking, to not feel so alone helped. The further she trekked it was evident she was far behind, and unless she wanted to push her lungs she would not be catching up. A frown, she took a deep breath, and attempted to shove her sorrow aside. It was still pleasant in the sun, and walking helped keep her head clear. As the Limestone Bluff came into view,  she paused admiring it for a minute, thoughts tumbling again. Mismatched eyes caught sight of the openings below she had never noticed. But, it was the dark silhouette of a wolf that had her attention. Brows brushed over eyes as she tried to decide who she might be seeing. There was something familiar. At a slow jog she dare approach, seeing that this wolf had lots of grays in her coat. Could it be? "Elettra?" She called, uncertain.

She gives a shiver in the chill of winter, her black, golden and silvery coat fluffing up in the breeze. She is still here, wondering if she might dare push further within these reaches of the Cedarwood Forest, though knowing fully aware she would not be able to get close enough for everything to be a memory of the life she once had within the borders. When the whisper of her name echoed over the winter air, Elettra was almost certain it was not real. Just a vivid memory after spending the past few hours trekking along the outskirts of the home she once lived so long ago. Soon though, a scent followed the call, once she was certain was toying with her brain. A sound stirred, the shifting of the other wolf as she padded into her direction.
Elettra whipped around to face the other woman and a sudden shock then came upon her. "Jaysyek....?" She was breathless, still for a moment longer as she was certain that this could not be true. But how could it not? Rook had come to her lands, nearly demanding that she help heal his father. He had mentioned Jaysyek, but in her rage towards the youngster she had not bothered to truly believe much of what he had said to her and her pack that day. Once she was fully certain that the white, thinly woman before her was indeed her old friend, the smallest of whines escaped her. Tongue jutting in and out slightly, she waves her tail rapidly as she closed the distance between them, licking along the other woman's nape in greeting. They both might have been becoming ghosts in their pack as they aged, but to Elettra this woman was someone she would never, could never, forget. ""

There was a moment she thought her cry would go unheard. Maybe it was not El after all, and she really was so desperate for the past. Just like when she had mistaken Rowan for Kade. A silly heart aching for old things long gone.

Hesitation caught into her step, but suddenly the woman faced her an despite the subtle  hints of white Jayse knew that face! She knew those fierce, silver eyes! A smile stretched across her cheeks, tail sweeping behind her. Swiftly, she nodded, rushing forward to greet her friend, forgetting about taking it easy.

When the gap closed, a light laughter fell from her lips of relief, and joy. All that was in this world, this was her greatest friend, and she was still alive. Here of all things! The white lady was touched she should be greeted in such a way after all this time. In turn she planted her nose in the edge of the dark silver fur, taking in her scent, so different and yet still of memory. She had not expected to see her again. She didn't think fate should smile down upon her so. Yet here they were. With renewed spirits she drew a step back, meeting her familiar gaze."El, it is so good to see you. How are you? How is the Ridge?"

There was yet still a high pitch, whining from parted jaws as she greeted her friend, tail waving madly and a smirk moves over her grey rimmed lips at Jaysyek's laugh. She had almost forgotten what it felt like to be in the other woman's presence; to be so loved by her, respected by her and under her care. It had been such a long time since she was second under Jaysyek's rule, ever protective of her and her children. Since then, Elettra had led her own pack, cared for her own children and now one of those very children was taking her place.
"I would have never imagined I'd be lucky enough to set eyes on you again." She spoke, pulling back to meet her chilled, silver gaze on Jaysyek's mismatched one. "I'm fine, I'm fine..." She quickly assures her, although Jaysyek did not look as though she had been doing as well herself. She should have looked perfect and already a tightening in her throat brought back emotions of protectiveness. Was Grizzly Hollow not tending to their mother's every need as she aged? She could not ever imagine @Morganna, @Greer, @Niles or Ravenna treating her poorly. "I admit the Ridge is a bit... unsettled. I fell from the mountains a bit back and Morganna took my place for me. Some of the pack members are still not adjusting well." The transition had been harder then Elettra had expected it to be. Both her younger siblings, nor Enoki seemed to take well to Elettra not being their leader any longer. It seemed her youngest children, Niles and Ravenna, had not been ready nor expecting in ether, surely a lot of that falling on their youth. "Are you...ok?"""

Her dirty paws and furry coat

If Jayse could have used anything it was this. She had often reminisced about the old days, missing her 'family'. The original of the Hollow. Elettra put what Jayse could not in words. "Me either," she admitted. Especially, so recently when she wondered if she even wanted to hang on.

On the other hand El did look rather well for her own age, and this pleased the former white queen. Some things may have went to hell, but surely not El. For that she was grateful, and simply happy. It gave her some piece of mind to know after all this time things had gone well for her friend, and guardian. Her happiness lingered in her smile, in her mismatched eyes. "Aw, after a change in leadership it seems it takes awhile for the dust to settle, even if they are your own. Kinda funny to me, I mean ya think for the most part it would be smooth. But, I guess being their pupsitter then their subordinate is quite a change." Lightly, she shrugged her shoulders. For her in their world it just made the most sense for the pups to move up, or someone else to step in if they had a problem with it. Jayse couldn't imagine Morganna was so different from her own mother. "Trisden is leading Renegade's Reach. It's where we claimed after the sickness took over here. But I know it was certainly an adjustment for everyone. Even me, kinda hard not to patrol, answer calls, fuss over everyone." It still was, but she couldn't keep up.

Now Jayse, yeah she probably was the one who looked like hell. It must have shown. But, life had had a lot of those moments in between the bits of heaven. She really had hung on a long time when Borden began to forget, but when he had finally been put to rest it had hit her hard. Everything she had been holding couldn't be contained, then what had happened to Cinder.... Sometimes she wasn't sure how far she was from slipping back into that dark abyss. Sweeping in a long breath, her face became neutral. "Honestly? We both know I've been better. The last months haven't been no breeze. But, I'm trying to get my act together. Take it easy, eat, and remember how to live."

Woot! Getting close to 1000!

Elettra nods to Jaysyek's words delicately, taking in one of the many reasons why things might be hard for the pack to settle now that Morganna was in leadership. Of course, mother was still there to back up her daughter should anything go out of place, although it was hard stepping back and trying to allow Morganna to do the hard work on her own. Elettra always wanted to help her, though it seemed her being there was making things a bit more difficult at times when Morganna needed to be herself. Elettra could only be left to wonder just how long it would be before this 'dust settled'. Then her former leader spoke of her having the same problem stepping back to let her daughter take the reigns. Old habits died hard, it seemed, although the news of Trisden was pleasant to Elettra's ears. It was her, out of all Jaysyek's children, that Elettra had been close to the most when she was growing up. She had been the biggest pain in Elettra's ass, but her boldness, strength and smarts had let Elettra know that the girl was going to make it in this world and hearing so brought a smile to her features. Now, Elettra wouldn't be able to notice her if she saw her, though chances of that were slim to none anyhow.
Once Jays began to speak about how she was holding up - living day by day, remembering to breath - Elettra was reminded of when Rook had came to the lands. It had been a terrible memory, to be honest. He had come quite demanding for help in treating his father who was loosing his mind. Skoll had made manners far more unbearable and the pack ended up being one the Ridge wolves would have to keep a close eye on. Elettra had lost all three of the Attaya siblings that day due to that Rook and Skoll squabble and it left a bitter taste in her mouth. Hopefully that whole situation had been kept from Jaysyek's ears, and Elettra swallowed it down herself with a gulp. Was Borden gone? Had no one bothered to tell Angier? "Is there something going on with the pack? Is there anything I can do?" She hesitates a moment after questioning, her eyes worried. Getting information about what was going down in Grizzly Hollow had not been Elettra's intention, though wanting to know if there was any way she could help her friend was indeed her intentions. If Borden had died, there was little Elettra could do to make her friend feel better. She could not even think about if, when, she would loose Angier. ""

Awesome she hit it!!! Sorry about not getting to this sooner. <333
Her dirty paws and furry coat

It was evident she was pleased to hear about Trisden. Which was only right. They had been the closest. Why, there was doubt they would see each other again, she was sure her daughter would like to hear how her former guardian was. How Jayse missed those days. Knowing well Trisden would have a litter of her own helped to ease the changes life no doubt would keep throwing there way. "She will be glad to hear of you." Gently murmured.

Jayse had no idea what had passed between Rook and the pack of Willow Ridge. Only since having gained two members it had brought on tensions perhaps. Why it should have been something for her to pursue she did not. For one, things were not as they had been. Two, she felt it would be her son who had to fix things. Thirdly, she was going to take up Trisden's offer of returning to the Reach. The Hollow wasn't home any more, and she didn't feel she could stay there much longer in her current state.

She glimpsed the worry in her friend's eyes. It furthered Jayse's love for the great woman, that even now she was concerned, wanting to help. She hated to crush that, bring her down. But, she could not pretend. She could not lie to @Elettra. Gently, she shakes her head."That is kind of you, but I think it is matters which my son needs to settle for himself. With his father gone, it's going to take him some time... " Mismatched eyes fell to the ground, trying to keep it all at bay. How long he had worked to make Borden better, and bring him back to the Hollow. His entire energy and being focused on the two. Now, Borden was gone. She was not sure what Rook wanted nor how to help other than the comfort of her presence. Her words seemed to do little. She only hoped he would pursue his own life.
