Just north beyond the open meadows into a patch of forest rested the main entrance to the cavern opening, decorated with a pool of water and trickling fall. Little hesitation did she offer when it came to slipping inside, though within there was nothing but darkness, her silhouette casting a shadow over the stone floor. It seemed entrapping. She could see no dirt or bushes in there, no trees or herbs to search out. Above, there was no open sky to greet her, offering ether rain or sunshine, nor wind to catch a scent. Pushing a bit further within, she could see little holes in the ceiling, offering some hope of lighting. Ravenna could only be left to wonder what all was within there though fear kept her at bay. She had no intention of getting lost within these caverns, especially alone.

BLITZ The situation was looking worse and worse with each passing day. Blitz was no closer to finding the damned coast than when he had first woken up in this strange land. He had made it a point of avoiding the natives, paranoid of what they and their packs might be like. As much as he liked to admit that he could do this on his own, the truth was, that he would eventually need the knowledge of someone who knew this neighborhood. The only positive turn of events, was his recent reunion with his sister, @Niq'x. They were back together, and most importantly, she was safe. Even if they were completely lost. When the soot colored male set out to scout the lands, or attempt a hunting mission to keep their bellies full, he was faced with yet another predicament. Leaving Niq'x alone. What if she wandered off and got lost again? What if he couldn't find her like he had the first time? Or what if some hostile male wolf started bullying on her? No no no! He shook his head furiously. He was just being paranoid, that was all. Yet he couldn't help his protective, sheltering instincts from kicking in, especially in this environment. Plus with the winter, the weather was not exactly on their side either. But at least Kelp was around to look after her. The adult male wouldn't let anything happen, he was sure of it. Even with that reassurance in mind, it was still not enough to keep Blitz's bitter mood from rearing it's ugly head once he was alone again.Travelling northwest, he was surprised to find that the Fireweed Rise continued on to become the Hush Meadow. An area he hadn't explored before. He doubted he would find water here, but the inviting patch of forest was interesting enough for a closer look. If he couldn't find water, then maybe he could try looking for prey instead. Further exploration presented him another surprise. Within this woodland, was a rocky formation, complete with a small pool of water and gentle falls. He sighed, grumbling quietly to himself, looking into the pool at his reflection. This was not the kind of water he had been hoping to find. But. If this trickling water was here, then it had to have been fed by a greater source. Blitz was just about to rear up on his hind legs to get a better look over the stones, when a flicker of movement from the corner of his eye halted him. A flash of brilliant silver fur sweeping into the depths of the caverns. Curiosity overcoming him, he cautiously approached the entrance and slunk inside. Whoever or whatever had filed in ahead of him, he didn't want to corner, in case they proved hostile. His careful approach said that he was merely inquisitive, and not looking to stir up any trouble. A low chuff blew past his lips, alerting whoever was inside that they were not alone. As his voice reverberated off the cavern walls, he paused, and waited for the reaction he knew would come. |
BLITZ Ah hah. So there was someone in here after all! But who? His bright green eyes swiftly adjusted to the darkness, soon pinning onto the rather visible form of a silver pelted youngster. Judging by the looks of her, and her voice, she was younger than he was. Only a pup, out venturing. The thought brought back memories of the newest litter of pups back at Bella Coola, who were surely delighted with their beachfront home. Blitz could only pray that lives so young, had not been uprooted. Sensing her uncertainty, the normally prickly natured black male eased back, so his bulk was no longer blocking the entrance to the caverns completely. "Oh...hi. I...didn't think anyone else was in here." He offered in a soft voice, rather rare for him these days. His gaze darted rapidly, curiously around the innards of the caverns, before landing back on the girl. "Are you out here all by yourself?" He asked. He could smell the traces of a pack on her fur, and refrained from getting too close or personal. He did not need the wrath of an angry parent or sibling coming down on him. He should know, as he was guilty of playing the typical overprotective big brother role himself. He settled onto his stomach, leaving space for her to exit, if need be. Making his already large frame appear smaller and less intimidating to a girl who had no idea who he was. |
Drawing in a deep breath, he released it slowly. Content lying on the cavern floor, which he found cool to the touch against his fur. Bright green eyes darted around, examining the innards, the layout of the stony labyrinth. He could get used to it here, he decided. If he was still around come summer, this would be the perfect place to escape from the scorching heat. "Oh...I see. Same goes for myself. I was actually trying to see where that bit of water would lead." He shrugged, apparently no longer interested in the trickling stream above the caverns. He seriously doubted it would yield very much in the way of results.
Remaining in place, Blitz didn't so much as twitch a muscle as the young, silver girl inched closer, but kept out of reach. Around youngsters, he was remarkably laid back, infinitely patient, and extremely protective. Quite the far cry from the typical Blitz most wolves knew these days. Even back home in Bella Coola, he was known to happily volunteer for pup sitting duty if the family was short handed. Dark ears flicked, his head cocking to the side as the female spoke again. "Allies you say?" He chewed his lip thoughtfully for a moment, delicately sniffing the air for any traces of a pack. But there was none. Just the smell of the earth, himself and @Ravenna. "So then....was there a pack here at some point. But...what happened to them?" He asked quizzically. There was a chance that she had little to no idea of the disbanding of Whisper Caverns, but young wolves often had a way of surprises.Sighing ever so delicately, she turned her pale silver eyes back to the young, dark wolf before her. "And you, do you have any allies?" Surely he had ether come to Relic Lore because he had friends and/or family here or because he was passing through in order to find something. Everyone had goals, right? At least Ravenna did and so she was wanted to know about this fellow. It was not ever often she spoke to any wolves outside of her pack. For that matter, it was not very often she spoke to anyone outside of her family.
Unlike the silver coated youth before him, Blitz unfortunately, did not have a choice in deciding whether to leave his pack or not. By some mysterious means, the likes of which he would probably never know, fate had decided for him. Intense green eyes glinted as he listened with equal intensity, absorbing the information which she offered to him, like a sponge soaking up water. Whisper Caverns. A hint of a smile crept to the edge of his lip. How very appropriate. "...They sound like they must have been quite formidable at one point. Maybe the mystery of what happened to them will be solved, one day." He said distantly, not too terribly interested in the fate of a pack long since fallen.
Her own pack must have also been quite powerful, to form such a close alliance with the pack that once resided in these very caverns. But when she turned the question to him, Blitz felt his chest tighten. Dark ears flattening, his face grew stony as he dropped his eyes to the floor. Of course she wouldn't know. No one did, at least not yet. That he, along with Kelp and his sister, were foreigners here. "Allies?" He echoed softly, voice hollow now. "No...not here. I have no one...not even my family." Perhaps that was a bit of a stretch, considering Kelp and Niq'x were in the area with him. But the rest of his clan, they were hundreds of miles away. A certain gloom had settled over the dark male now, and he stared distantly into the shadows, lost in the emotions of homesickness once again.
