Ismena Vuesain
Anyone can join! Ismena is now 11 weeks old! She's definitely not as hyper as she was a few weeks ago, however she's definitely still quite curious!
Ismena, a swarm of fireflies seem to escort you this evening.

Ismena knew her parents wouldn't exactly agree on letting her go out for a stroll so late in the evening, however she just wasn't tired yet! The small fae peaked around to make sure nobody was around to spot her devious act before promptly making her way out of the den for what was supposed to be only a few short minutes. With Summer at it's peak, the child found that it was almost too hot to stay outside for lengthy periods of time whilst the sun was still out. It's truly be a shame if she stayed cooped up in the den with everyone else right when it was cool enough to go exploring! Surely her parents would understand. In fact, if the fae happened to be unlucky enough to get caught, she'd make sure they understood. Then maybe they'd even think to join her!

Almost immediately after making her forbidden exit, something rather radiating caught Ismena's attention from the distance. They were like small.. dancing stars, and they were everywhere! With a wide grin placed on her tiny maw, the child skipped over to the small light sources, half tempted to dance along with them. "Pretty!" The agouti pup squeaked, eager to learn just exactly what it was she was observing in this moment.

It was almost as if the tiny stars had somehow became aware of the lake princess's presence, for they suddenly began to do their little dance closer, swarming around her as if to tell her they knew she wasn't a threat. "Hm? Is there somethin' ya want?" the fae questioned, waiting patiently for any signs of further acknowledgement. They then slowly started drifting away from her, did they intend on her following them? "Mmm... Okay! But I can't go too far, or mamma and daddy will get mad!" She chuckled, following behind the small creatures as they danced further and further away from the den.

Your heart's too big for your body.

OOC: <3

It was odd to be separated from his sister for so very long. Neha was still off learning about herbs, and of course Al was long gone (again). The Prince was effectively an only child for the time being; well, had it not been for the two little balls of fluff Ma had brought to the Cove. He would have been lying to say he wasn't feeling a little lonely in @Neha's absence, though he tried to distract himself with learning his own sort of trade. Patrolling and hunting here and there did get boring after a while. The one soul his age he had to hang out with was still a mere acquaintance, though that was probably mostly his fault.

That left the adults and the puppies, and more often than not the eldest present Vuesain boy defaulted to visiting the little girls for a little fun. It was a shame that they couldn't wrestle much, or go very far from home, or hunt, or do much of anything. Still, their antics were pretty entertaining, for a while. Cernan swung by the birthing den pretty often these days. He'd managed to bring @Namid food on a couple of occasions, and been proud of himself for it. The girls were only now able to eat what little he caught, and only in mashed up little bits. He really wished they would get bigger already.

He was due for a rest soon, having brushed past a section of the borders and deemed it secure. The Queen's den was merely a stop on his way to bed. The boy's tawny form bounced steadily through the pines at a dutiful, albeit slightly drowsy trot. His heavier footfalls were less than stealthy, but as it so happened, they were still more inconspicuous than the clumsy young feet he heard then. The chubby youth drew to a tentative halt, brows furrowed. It was dark out already; weren't the tiny tots supposed to be asleep? No adult footfalls accompanied the sound, so the now-yearling drew forward more hastily.

Golden eyes fell upon her diminutive, shadowed form as it pranced gleefully ahead, away from the den and already deeper into the woods. Cernan pulled his trot back into a brisk walk and called out to her with a chuff. Had she been chasing the fireflies? The child's scent became clear as he approached, and he then realized that it was Ismena he was dealing with here; the one that most resembled Al. They both had a wayward streak, didn't they? Perhaps he could curb it early.

"Issie?" He questioned quietly, tipping his beige crown at her; now illuminated in places by the glowing insects. "Where are you going?" Genuine curiosity lined his gradually deepening voice, with a tiny tad of accusation. If she was out here when she wasn't supposed to be, the possibility of Ma getting upset was very real; even more so if she came to the conclusion that Cernan had led her out here, or encouraged the disobedience in any way. No, that wouldn't do at all. He had to get the bumbling toddler back inside as quick as he could. Scary things lurked in the dark; chiefly the hooting night-terrors known as “owls.” They'd eat her given the chance, he knew it, and no number of patrols could keep winged creatures out of their home. (And oh, how he wished they would.)

:D

Ismena knew immediately who the voice belonged to, and she could feel her heart drop as she slowly turned to greet them. "C-Cernann!" She sang apprehensively. "The- uhm.. Well.." Was there really a point in lying? It wasn't like she could come up with a reasonable enough fib on such short notice regardless. No, unfortunately she had to tell the truth in this case, no matter how goofy it made the young fae sound. "The uhm, S-star bugs.. I think they wanna show me somethin'.." now all that's left to do is prey he understood how important this was to her. "Are you gonna make me go home now? Because instead you could uhh.. Come with us if you wanted to and.. Momma would understand I think, if we jus' told her.."

Turning back around, Ismena allowed her gaze to fall back onto the dancing stars. They had appeared to be waiting for her, it'd be a real shame if she couldn't tag along. "I think their feelings are gonna be hurt if I can't go.." The lake princess murmured with a frown. The insects chose her for a reason, no? "Bu' It's not like I'm not gonna listen if you want me to go home instead.."

Your heart's too big for your body.

OOC: Sorry for the wait! I need more Issie in my life! <3

While the little one attempted to explain herself, Cernan's golden gaze swept all around them, nose twitching in an effort to detect even a hint of a threat in the vicinity. Unlikely, sure, unless one was talking about owls. Star bugs? The Prince turned to stare down at her again. It sounded pretty ridiculous to an older ear; bugs hardly seemed like they were smart enough to have much intention at all, besides trying to hurt you or trying to run away. The bugs around them now were no different; floating around with little pattern or reason.

Before he could mull over a reply though, Issie went on to try and get him involved in this late night excursion. Ma would understand alright, but he doubted she would be the slightest bit happy about letting her youngest wander around in the dark past her bedtime with only him for protection; she was just so darn small and helpless. It was irritating sometimes. Oh, and now she was worried about the bug's feelings too. The tawny boy's yellow eyes focused on the nearest one as it blinked on by. He had an urge to inform the girl that the 'star bugs' did not really show emotion, much less suffer from hurt feelings – at least in his experience, but she kept talking, and her next words made his ears fall back gently.

A long sigh deflated the Prince's lungs. Her absolute compliance was actually making this more difficult. That and she definitely could have hurt feelings, and definitely sounded like she would. Cernan took a step to the side, and lowered his gaze onto her fuzzy brown form. His slightly-narrowed eyes flicked between the girl and the bugs, and then the all-consuming darkness. He had checked the border all day long, and they wouldn't really be going that direction anyway. A corner of the boy's mouth drew back in a slight grimace, and he lowered his head closer to the tiny tot.

"Just a few minutes IF you promise to be really quiet and stay close to me," he cautioned in a hushed tone, trying to be real serious like their parents. "If we wake up Ma she won't be happy." Cernan's skull returned to its normal height, though his voice sounded again with a final thought. "And you have to promise you won't tell her."

I did it! :D

Don't tell mom? Well that certainly was a new concept. Ismena didn't like the thought of lying to her parents, however Cernan seemed pretty serious about it, and she really wanted to stay out a bit longer. Perhaps lying didn't have to be the word she used for this situation, perhaps secret would be a bit more appropriate. Yes, 'secret' would do. After all, their parents didn't need to know everything, did they? With a nod, the lake princess agree'd to her brothers terms. "I won't tell, promise." she grinned, returning her gaze to the beloved star bugs.

"Everyone, this is Cernan. He's my brother and he's really nice and.. He wants to come with us! So, uh, take us where y' wanna go!" tail wagging, the pup waited patiently for the little bugs to make their move. When they returned to their previous wandering, Ismena made sure to carefully tiptoe close behind. Certainly they wanted to show the pair something important, why else would they try so hard to keep her attention with those flashy lights? "They move awfully slow.. Is it because they're so small? I don't think I'd like being that small if it meant I couldn't run around!" She giggled, wondering if her kin held any information on the insects.

The tiny tot appeared to turn the idea over in her head for only a moment. His golden eyes took in Ismena's agreement firmly. Good. The child started talking to the bugs again, in a way that was hard not to find amusing. A small smile cracked onto his beige muzzle at the compliment she so innocently uttered, and the prince found himself looking between the creatures as if there would  be some reaction to this formal introduction.

Of course not, but at least his sister was keeping her voice down... enough. The hefty yearling took another pensive glance around the dark and shadowy woods, and back in the direction of the den she was supposed to be asleep in right now. The tiny wolf seemed to cast her attention upon whichever one appeared closest, and of course the things were mostly moving away from the bigger animals. He really doubted they had a plan at all, but it was kind of funny for Ismena to think so. His rounded ears flicked forward to catch her idle words from their positions as danger radars.

He chuffed softly, entertained by the notion. "You know you were really small before, though, not that small," he added, looking pointedly at an adjacent 'star bug.' His low voice was mostly a whisper, just in case. "And you were really slow too." Cernan stared at her sideways, smirking out of the opposite corner of his mouth. He let the little tease settle between them before continuing to answer her real question. "But not everything that's small is slow. Squirrels and mice and stuff are really fast, faster than us a'lotta times." His adolescent timbre rose almost like a shrug. He'd spent plenty of time chasing small things. The Vuesain boy knew he was pretty big, and he certainly wasn't a speed demon. Sprinting wasn't likely going to be the boy's bailiwick. He wondered briefly how big the girls would get, but if Neha was anything to go on, not very.
