Sex: MaleKajika knew he was being followed and he knew what exactly what was following him. It wasn't the first time he had been followed by the scavengers, as a loner he'd been followed on numerous occasions. What bothered him most was that it wasn't even during times when prey was scarce. Even more so was the fact he had yet to come across anything worth expending the energy to chase yet that day. The crunch of snow behind him caused him to look back to find the coyote behind him. The creature wasn't close enough he could do anything without it figuring out what was happening but he wasn't so far back Kajika didn't catch glimpses of him.
The dark male had a pack to feed and wasn't really looking forward to fighting the coyote off when he finally did catch something. He carried on through the forest hoping the scavenger would soon give up and go somewhere else. Unfortunately he spotted a squirrel which if the hunting was better he might have let go until the coyote had gone but without knowing if he would catch something later he couldn't.With some luck the small bushy tailed creature had ventured far enough away from the tree that he was able to creep close enough to catch it before it reached the tree. Quickly and unceremoniously he ended it's life. That's when the coyote decided it was time to move in. Dropping the squirrel from his jaws he stepped over it before snapping and barking at the coyote in an attempt to drive it off. The squirrel was too precious to let it fall into the jaws of something that wouldn't do the work for it.
