Looking up towards the sky, Amaryllis watched the snow float down from the clouds above. It was a peaceful day today, and though it was cold, she could handle it.

With her stomach rumbling, Amaryllis decided to visit her personal cache near her private den and brushed aside the snow that gathered on top of her personal cache and dig out something to chew on. But as her paws begun digging in the dirt, she realised the dirt was too hard to dig in without hurting her paws in some way. Dang.

With another rumble tore into her stomach, Amaryllis sighed when she realised her cache had been frozen over. It had been yesterday morning since she had last eaten, having decided to try to preserve the communal caches for the pups or other pack members. But it seemed like today she might have to either find something to catch or dig in the other caches.

Covering her cache over with the snow again, she turned away from the cache and thought she’d see if she could find something to hunt, though she wasn’t sure if how easy it would be since there had been a rapid decline in prey since winter had officially gripped the land in its icy claw.

With a rather rough shake of her pelt Yvly bounded forth through the falling snow, eager to leave the border after her finished patrol and find someplace warm to rest in until the snow eased up. There had been flakes earlier in the day but as it wore on they fell heavier and heavier until no matter how often she shook out her pelt there was always a layer of snow upon her. It was melting into her upper coat and making her feel a little sticky, but her under coat kept her from becoming cold. Clouds puffing in front of her muzzle as she exhaled, the Tawny Leader hastily weaved her way through the trees and over piles of snow until she came to a sudden stop at the sight of Lily.

"Hey!" She breathlessly called out, tail waving amicably behind her as she darted closer to her friend with a grin on her face. Gently nibbling at Lily's muzzle in greeting she padded on the spot, already feeling numbness creep into her toes from practically running through the snow drifts. "Snowy, isn't it?" It was quite an understatement but her mind was only really focused on finding someplace to hide from it. However when she noticed her friends expression her grin faltered slightly. "What's wrong?" Yvly breathed out, brows furrowing as she gazed at her friend. After a swift scan she could not see anything physically wrong with Lily, but that did not stop her from worrying.

Caught by surprise, Amaryllis jumped slightly as Yvly came to a sudden nearby and called out a greeting to her, not having been focusing. But after a few seconds of calming her beating heart down from the small scare, her breath fogging up in front of her, the woman eventually returned the other's greeting with a gentle nip to her ear.

"You scared me you dolt!" Amaryllis huffed lightly, though moving to press against Yvly's side for a few moments once she noticed just how cold Yvly felt. Not that the greyscale woman was much warmer but Yvly felt near frozen, like she had been running through the snow for quite some time. Amaryllis rolled her eyes when Yvly frowned at her, asking if she was alright, with her stomach flipping not just because of her hunger though. The would be healer had noticed why she had taken to mostly keeping in Yvly's company, when she did want it. And she was almost afraid to admit it. What if Yvly didn't feel the same?

"Oh stop being such a worry wort, you." Amaryllis laughed lightly, trying to focus on something else. She tilted her nose back to the frozen hole, the dirt barely ruffled from her attempt at digging into it. "I'm just hungry but my personal cache just froze over so I'm gonna go see if I can find something to eat else where." As if to prove her point, her stomach rumbled loudly. Sheepishly, she glanced at Yvly, leaning against her still as they stood almost shoulder to shoulder. Both were slowly warming up from the close contact and Amaryllis was afraid of losing it when they would inevitably move to fix her rumbling stomach.

No, she wasn't going to delve deeper into those thoughts. Shaking her head, Amaryllis nipped at Yvly's chin and danced away with her tail wagging, trying not to miss the warmth once the scent of a deer crossed her nose, with the faint smell of lynx. Guess the predator got lucky and the deer, not so much. "Smells like we're lucky though, there's a deer nearby."
