Piety Santoro
She stuck near the bottom of the monadnock on top of one of the many slates of rocks that surrounded it. The dove hadn't been very keen on letting anyone but Morganna near her. She was fine with the dark archer wrestling and nipping at her skin. If it meant they both could relieve tension for a bit then she would do anything.

With a soft growl, she rolled onto her back and stretched out her legs before moving to her side. Muddy eyes watched the vast tundra in front of her. She was half expected to see @Wraith or even Lorcan in the distance. She hadn't seemed Lorcan around much but she assumed that he was minding himself. Smart choice.

The pale Santoro began to feel fidgety and that itch was creeping again. She let out a loud huff and jumped down from her resting spot. Looking for a decent place to wallow seemed difficult. Piety assumed as long as it would make her feel better for a bit anywhere would work. Her body dropped down to the snowy ground with a thud. She dug herself into the snow as much as possible. Nothing would ever be enough for her.

Greer Archer-Lyall

Leaving Kyna was always difficult. He despised leaving her behind, and if it were up to him, she would at the monadnock with him. The shadow knew, however, that he could not force the strawberry blond to join him. If she wanted to live in the tundra, with him, it had to be her choice. Not his. No matter how badly he wanted to be able to see her whenever he pleased. Their friendship had been built on short, sporadic visits—and Greer was okay with that. (He had to be.)

While he had been out stretching his legs the Archer was also still looking for a secondary place for the monadnock wolves. There were a couple places of interest nearby, but he would have to wait until after spring to show her. For now, he was tying to keep his distance from the Whitestone females. Unfortunately for Greer, it seemed his paws had other plans.

As he climbed his way back up the monadnock a familiar scent rushed his nostrils. Piety. Another one of his brother’s former flames. This one had found her way to the lowlands and appeared to be on good terms with Morganna, so Greer did not mind her presence. The other flame, however, was not welcome. Even if she came with her tail tucked between her legs, grovelling at the feet of his sister and the silver spider.

As he neared the pale female his brows knitted together, mercury eyes studying the girl’s frantic digging. Not wanting to bother her, and interrupt whatever it was she was doing, the shadow woofed a short greeting and continued his way up the rock, in hopes that she was not interested in conversing with him.

Piety Santoro
Had she been any submerged into the snow she likely would have dismissed the sound that came forth from someone. Instead, she raised her head to see the dark shadow of Greer. She knew little of the male other than he was an Archer too. An elusive one at that. While the instinct in her was that he could be a solution to the problem she didn't like that idea very much. She composed herself and offered a soft bark back at him. She stayed on her ground position and watched him for a moment before deciding to say something.

"How was your trip?" She asked with a soft smile as she settled into the snow she had built up. The pale Santoro was aware that he didn't talk very much but perhaps he could give her nice short answers. Anything to help take her mind off the feeling under her skin. She seemed to be in a fairly well mood today which gave her a better reason to try and socialize. "See anything cool?" The dove was not exactly sure how to talk to him because they had never talked much. If anything it was usually a polite bark in passing. That was certainly not conversation.

She carefully pushed herself in the snow more to soothe the raging fire that hid just below the surface. Piety would mask her discomfort with a kind smile. Hopefully he would distract her soon.

The shadow gave a small wag of his tail at her response in hopes that their interaction would be nothing more, but unfortunately for Greer the pale wolf had other plans. His paws stopped abruptly, mercury gaze studying the snow-covered wolf as she asked him about his scouting trip. At first, he shrugged. His favourite method of responding. “Was ok,” he answered after letting the silence settle, his tail swaying gently behind him. Piety did not push for conversation, which he appreciated. She offered short questions, which begged for short answers. Something he excelled at.

His brows narrowed at her second question, the corners of his mouth falling. The trip had been more of a wandering mission, where he wasn’t really looking for anything in particular. Merely seeking out a way to pass the time—to keep his mind off the strawberry blond and her desire to move him back south. While he had made up his mind, the shadow still wasn’t sure if was the right choice to make. “Snow wolf,” he answered once he cleared his thoughts, pointing at her with his dark snout, an impish grin rolling onto his lips. He was telling her the truth—her covered in snow was perhaps the most interesting thing he had seen while out patrolling the lowlands.

His answers weren't long but she didn't expect them to be. Besides, if he was home safe and said "Was okay" then that was good enough for her. It was much better than him not returning or him coming home like Odin and saying something like "was bad". So she simply smiled and nodded her head. A sign that she was glad it was okay.

The tattered dove raised her brows. "Snow wolf? I don't think - oh." She paused as a grin took over her face and she laughed with joy. She was the snow wolf. "I guess I am a bit of a snow wolf." Her tail swayed, moving around some of the snow. Mentioning she couldn't see herself she didn't even think about how she would look covered in the powdery snow. She wondered if anyone else might see her and appoint her the same silly title. Piety didn't really mind the title or how humorous it was. This was her first time really interacting with Greer and if it kept going this way she might consider a small talk with him more often. If he was up to it, of course.

"It's nice to know you didn't run into anything crazier than a Snow Wolf out in the tundra." She spoke kindly and dipped her head. "Have you seen that ring of antlers south of here?" Her head tilted to the side. She wasn't expecting much more than a yes or no from him no matter how much she chattered.

His head fell to the side in amusement as he studied her reaction, the corners of his eyes crinkling. The dove before him certainly wasn’t the same wolf his mother had chased from Willow Ridge two summers ago. Greer hardly remembered her—she had been nothing but a flash of white among the willows; an phantom presence. Like Hecate (also known as the floozy), she had made the poor decision of choosing his older brother as a lover, who had been quick to abandon her. Truthfully, he was pleased to see Piety find her way to the monadnock. She had proved to be an asset to the pack and it seemed his sister was fond of the dove, for Morganna had not chased her out (yet).

It did not seem to bother her that Greer was only providing her with short answers. One-sided conversations were his specialty and she appeared to be content with it. His ears twitched at her question. The shadow had seen the ring from afar but had never gotten too close. He shrugged softly before answering, brows narrowed softly: “Seen. Not close.” His nose tilted upward, slightly. “Pi like?” She had mentioned the place, surely she had visited it once or twice.

She listened to his short answers. They didn't bother her because just the fact that the shadow was talking to her was enough to make her content. "I'm not sure, honestly." Her head tilted softly as she thought about them. "They're so strange and I'm not sure who would set them up like that." A soft smile tugged at her lips as she finished her sentence. "I suppose some things are supposed to be just a mere wonder." The snowy female lazily rolled over in the snow before rolling back over. She truly was earning her title of Snow Wolf.

"There's also this pool a bit out that Wraith and I found while scouting. It has all these stones that kind of make it easy to walk into the pool. It was frozen, being this time of year and all, but I think a trip once things thaw would be nice." She slightly rambled but in no way was she expecting him to reply. If anything she was simply exchanging information with him. "It's pretty private out there too, you might like it." Her tail swished behind her snowy form. It may have been a bold assumption but she assumed that a silent shadow like Greer would like a more silent place.

He gave a slow nod as she answered, his brows narrowly softly. It was a rather peculiar phenomenon; all the antlers placed strategically together, woven with extraterrestrial precision. No wolf could have made such a structure… or could they? The wolves of Lore would never know. Instead they would gawk and investigate, forever searching for an answer that would never come. Wolves would create fables to explain the oddity of the arrangement because the fear of the unknown was too much for them. The mystery of the antler ring only intrigued the shadow more but he had not gotten the chance to investigate it up close just yet. “Some mystery good,” he responded after a brief pause, his shoulders rolling with his words.

As the snow wolf spoke once more the shadow’s ears twitched, silver eyes widening as curiosity bubbled up inside his chest. Greer was always intrigued by more secluded terrain—places that did not see heavy wolf traffic. Piety was quick to pick up on his desires to be alone. The corners of his mouth curled into a small smile. For now the Archer decided he liked the one-eared wolf. She did not pry or pester him for answers and was content with one-sided conversation. “Greer look. Thank.” His smile widened slightly to show the pale wolf that he appreciated the information she had shared with him.

“What snow wolf do?” He asked in a feeble attempt to get her to talk more, for it appeared that she needed the distraction just as much as he did.

Her tail wagged about and moved some of the snow. Some mystery was indeed good. It was needed in order to keep life fresh and exciting. What would the creatures of the earth do if they already knew all the answers to everything?

Piety was pleased with herself as Greer's body language showed interest in her discussion of Edge Stone Pool. It made her feel a bit more accomplished that she was able to offer information that he both didn't know and seemed to have a genuine interest in. "You're very welcome." She replied with a kind smile before briefly digging herself into a bit more snow. It was a cooling sensation, while it didn't fix everything, it certainly would do for now.

The scarred dove's attention was caught when the dark Archer asked her a question. "Well Piety is a hard-working Whitestone subordinate by day but..." Her rump wiggled softly before she jumped up from the snow, some of it flying every which way. "Snow-wolf by night!" She giggled before dropping back into her snow pile. "I suppose snow-wolf does whatever a snow-wolf can. Of course, with a few exceptions to laws and stuff." She explained as she tried to coat herself in snow again.
