Lachesis "XIX" Stark
@Inna

A frown creased his pale features as he the raven Baranski answered, her tone much harsher than he had expected. Of course she wasn’t alright—this was all so new to her. And Lachesis was not the best candidate to explain what was going on with her. He was not ready for that conversation, with her or even his own daughter. The ghost cringed, mentally, at the thought and quickly dismissed it, his apple-green eyes focused on the younger wolf as she began speaking once more. News? His ears twitched at this. The dragon had fallen? His chest shoulders sagged in relief despite his lips still curled into a soft frown. “Good,” he commented about the dragon’s fate, his head tipping to the side. Lachesis’ mind wandered to Karina and her daughter, but the thoughts did not linger. Instead they were immediately replaced by thoughts of his son, his gut twisting. “I’m not surprised,” he added in a hushed town, his brows narrowed. “Did he return with you?”

Inna Baranski

It was embarrassing to say the least to be caught doing what she had been and Lachesis was sure to pick up on it.  He was their healer after all so Inna was sure he had to know what was going on with her. Asking about it was another story for another time.  She had information she needed to share with the leader because it involved his son.  However she started with news of the dragons demise, he would not be a threat to Hearthwood any longer. The healers reaction wasn't a surprise to the ebony Baranski as she was sure everyone in Hearthwood had the same sentiment.  She continued with the news that Kyrios had followed her and Aleksei into the mountains. Inna shook her head when asked if the boy had returned with her, “I'm afraid not, he decided to strike out on his own to find Karina and Bennet.  Aleksei is not with me either choosing to continue the search for our sister," she answered sadly.  The young Baranski was worried about her brother but when she had made the decision to return home she knew he would not follow. He wouldn't return until he had found her, there was something in that which bothered her but she pushed it down.

His heart sank at her response but he was not surprised. Kyrios had always been determined to find his milk-mother and sister since they had followed the dragon out of Hearthwood. The Aegina had blamed him for this absence. Had accused him of pushing them away. Lachesis had tried to explain himself—to explain his reason behind exiling the one-eyed dragon—but his son wouldn’t listen. He hoped that this journey of his would shed some light on the situation. XIX just feared that his impressionable son would get roped into the nonsense that Kjors had poisoned Karina with. “I hope they both find what they’re looking for,” he mumbled in response, brows narrowing softly. “Anything else to report?” He asked after a brief pause, his head tilting to the side as he studied the troubled Baranski. The ghost was still amused by her peculiar behaviour, but he did not want to poke. It was an… uncomfortable subject. One that Lachesis barely understood.

The news that she had brought to the ghost was the kind that she hated bringing most but he had to know about his son and the dragon.  They never has to live in fear Kjors would come back for his revenge again.  Kyrios, Inna did worry about the boy and she hoped that one day she would see that Lachesis was always the father he'd needed.  She hoped that one day the healer could have a good relationship with his son as she'd had with her father. Inna nodded, “I do too,” she said as she moved forward to brush his cheek in comfort. He did not deserve to sit and wait for his children to return, never knowing if they were okay, “I hope they return to you soon.” She stepped away from him to meet his gaze as he asked about anything else to report, she shook her head, “Unless you mean whatever is going on with me,” her tone has a frustrated note to it.  She wasn't sure she wanted to have this conversation with the healer but it was clear he'd noticed something was off with her.

He wanted to pursue both his son and Maksim’s eldest son, but Lachesis knew he couldn’t. Not now—not yet. They would come back when they were ready. As much as he wanted to, XIX could not force them into coming back to Hearthwood before they found whatever it was they were looking for. The alpha smiled in response to Inna’s comment, his brows narrowing softly. “As do I.” He knew that Aleksei wanted answers. His sister had abandoned the river wolves, for what? A dragon and a handful of skewed promises? Lachesis almost snorted at the thought. And Kyrios, what was he seeking? How to defy his father and chase after the same twisted dream that Kjors had promised Karina? His thoughts were abandoned as the raven Baranski spoke once more, causing the ghost’s cheeks to grow warm. “Nope,” he answered quickly as he shook his head, an amused expression collapsing onto his alabaster features. “Unless you want to talk about it, I’m not the best person to be talking to about your, uh, condition. He shrugged softly in an attempt to dismiss the girl’s comment.

On the mountain so much had happened between her, Aleksei, and Kyrios that she felt it best to spare the healer all of the details.  She wouldn't be forgetting any of it any time soon but Lachesis didn't need to know what his son had said about him.  She didn't want that on his mind if something did happen to the boy while he was off stubbornly looking for Karina and Bennet on his own. The ghost shared her sentiment a sad smile falling across her features, she hoped her brother would return to them soon.  In the back of her mind she did worry that he wouldn't return and that he would break his promise to her.  Having delivered her message attention bwas turned to her current predicament and what had brought her home.  When Lachesis said he didn't want to talk about it she couldn't say she was disappointed.  It would be weird talking to him even if he was the pack Healer so when he asked if she wanted to she shook her head, “Just tell me I'm not dying?” She asked of him hoping that she want since the burning band itching often made her feel as though she just might be.

The ghost hoped his son found whatever it was he was looking for and made a swift return. He felt as though he was the reason why Kyrios had fled, chasing a dream that never belonged to him. Lachesis knew he should have approached the twins prior to the meeting where they announced Kjors’ removal. The guilt consumed him more than he would care to admit, but he had to remain composed. Even with Atropos announcing that she was going to go look for her brother and bring him home to Hearthwood. He could not let the river wolves down in their absence.

As the raven Baranski spoke XIX cracked a crooked grin, the corners of his eyes crinkling in amusement. “No Inna,” he started gently, his tail giving a short wag behind him, “you’re definitely not dying.” Unfortunately, there was nothing he could say or do that would make Inna feel better. She was just going to have to wait out the season.

Inna didn't like being the bearer of bad news very much and she didn't like the look that Lachesis had when she'd told him about his son.  She missed the young Kyrios and hated the fact that like her sister Kjors had gotten to him too and caused him to hate his own father.  What happened on the mountain she would keep to herself forever to spare the man more pain.  Lachesis had been such a huge part of her life and helped her so much that she felt she had to spare him the pain of what had happened would cause him.

She'd asked him if she was dying and while she didn't think she was she felt better when he did confirm that she wasn't.  “Well that's good news then. I suppose that whatever this is I will get through it.” She offered him a small smile, “I should probably be off,” she stated before turning back into the forest to figure out some what to relieve what she was feeling.

@Lachesis

When she woke up Inna first realized that she no longer felt the burning and itching that had been bothering her for the past weeks.  That was a relief, she couldn't be happier that was over with but there was something else that she had noticed. Something didn't quite feel right, she wasn't sure how to explain it but she was a little worried.  It also worried her that she could still smell her sister and mother's heat scents so she didn't quite understand why hers was gone, replaced with another scent.

She had questions and generally she wouldn't bother Lachesis with such things but she felt that he might have something that could help her.  At the very least maybe he had some idea as to why she felt so off.  It only made sense to go to him since he was the pack healer.  Not wanting to worry over it any longer Inna went to look for him at the infirmary den first.  She usually found him there and she hoped this time would be no different. “Lachesis, are you in there? I really need to speak with you,” she called when she reached the den the worry she was feeling was clear in her voice.

With Lilya’s condition the ghost had been prepping his den, ensuring that he had the necessary herbs. He had managed to collect some sweet grass when he had been out with Lorcán but he wasn’t sure he had enough. Perhaps he would have to make another visit to the creek the tawny medic had led him to…

The pale healer was getting used to social calls from the raven Baranski but he did not mind. Her presence was always welcomed at his den, no matter the time or the situation. As her voice called down to him a strange scent accompanied it—one that he did not normally associate with the obsidian wolf. A frown creased his pale features as he emerged from his den to greet her, brows narrowed darkly. He stood tall before the Baranski, his toes curling into the soft ground as he studied his sidekick. “Inna?” He questioned, his features darkening as he realized what the scent was that enveloped the younger wolf. Oh no...
