Fira
Fira had come a long way from her last home, and she was once again alone and travel-weary. On the way here, she had reverted to one of her other names. Red was the name she had gone by for the past few months. Now she was Fira again. She was leaving behind her post as Gamma of Cutthroat Creek, her old pack, so she figured a name change was in order. She was glad, at least, that it was warming up, being late May, so maybe she’d have an easier time surviving out here on her own. Not that she planned on being on her own for long. No. She was definitely a pack wolf. Being a loner for too long was frustrating for her, and she’d taken weeks to get here.

Speaking of here… This place wasn’t really the best place to be in. She wasn’t used to open tundra. She much preferred trees over her head. This feeling of openness was kind of… frightening, in an eerie sort of way. She pushed through the creepy feeling in her gut and shook her head, walking on. It wasn’t like her to lose composure, and if she did, it was never for long. She was too straightforward. No. Her best bet was to keep moving, and hopefully stumble upon someone else out here, or make it farther and into a more habitable area… She had to keep going.

But she couldn’t — because she’d reached the edge of a giant… something. A crater, maybe? She stared down into the place where she’d almost dropped, feeling foolish and like she wasn’t being a very observant scout. That was always her job in every pack — scouting. Well… She hadn’t eaten well in the past few weeks. So, she supposed her misstep could be forgiven. Except that she’d almost gotten hurt, which would have sucked since she was totally alone out here as far as she knew. She took a breath and stepped away from the edge, looking up at the far end of it and grimacing about going around. Well, this would take a while…

Nauja Mizuno

She'd been away from the pack for a few days and had found herself back in the lowlands once again. When she'd set out she wasn't sure what had made her paws carry her in the direction if the lowlands. Nauja hadn't wanted to leave with the pups still so you and she hadn't wanted to leave Ishtar but she had job to do. Wanting to do better in White Fir Notch than she had in Grizzly Hollow she hadn't taken much convincing that this was where she needed to be.

Having spent a few weeks in the notch she had recovered from what being on her own for so long had done to her. While she supposed she had fared better than some she had still lost some of her weight which had come back now. She was also in much better condition to travel the distances which she was being asked to travel. As he paws carried her over the terrain she felt like she hadn't traveled very much in the past months which she supposed she hadn't.

Now as she moved through the Tundra she came to a place that she hadn't seen during her last trip. The seagull had no idea what she had stumbled across but she meant to find out. As she approached what seemed to be a giant hole in the tundra she also took notice of the wolf that was already there. Nauja came up to the edge cautious a few feet from the stranger who seemed to be looking around. “I suppose it isn't exactly a hole after all,” she commented loud enough for the female to hear. She wasn't really sure what to make of her discovery.
