@Lauraceae bc cute puppy/Cas times are needed

It was... not a particularly good day for Cas. She had gotten back a few days prior from her excursion to the west and her meeting with Greer. She wasn't in pain, per say. She was simply just sore, tired, and stiff. The last few nights had been spent either with Niles or by herself, with the occasional trip to Draven's den for herbs and Neha's den to check on the pup. Or to see Sahalie, who happened to be taking care of Larkspur's son.

The pup was so sweet, to be the child of Satan himself.

Castel sighed as she headed over in the direction of where she thought Sahalie and Laurel might be, the wing of a sparrow entrapped between her teeth. She assumed the pup would enjoy the feathers to play with, and she herself had enjoyed the meat as a snack. However, on the way there, she had to stop and sit, dropping the wing to the ground with her tongue lolling out of her mouth. She didn't feel sick, not really. More fatigue than anything - and she wasn't used to feeling so weak.

She wanted to play an help, not be unable to make the short walk without going out of breath.

As someone who had been blessed with an abundance of vim in an incapable body, Cas was frustrated more often than not with her own abilities. But she'd changed her viewpoints quite a bit after they'd formed Quaking Vale. Though she still wanted to adventure and see new things and meet new wolves, she also wanted to do it in moderation, so that she was around as long as possible for her pack - for Sahalie and Alastor and Neha and Draven and Windy and Niles. And now, for the new puppies.

Perhaps it would be best to rest for a moment, she decided as she plopped down on her stomach, the forest floor damp beneath her belly fur. Nobody would be harmed if she just took a chunk of time out for a nap. It was uncommon for the silver-brushed girl, but not unheard of.

Unfortunately, she was closer to her destination than she realized.

Laurel was unchanged by the world, and so his version of things were considerably less skewed than his father. He rarely saw the man, and could remember little beyond Larkspur's bright, orange eyes. He had been scared at first, but a little bit of gentle words and sweet kisses was enough to win any child over. He rarely saw the man, which wasn't important to him just yet, if only because @Sahalie gave him every bit of love that he could have ever needed or wanted. She was a lot like his first mom. Days rolled by and he forgot about his quest to find her, instead happily nestling himself into his new mom's dark fur and playing with anyone that even came somewhat close to him.

When he saw Castel approaching, the boy leaped up with the excitement of... well, of a puppy, but stopped short when he suddenly found something he could not have even made up. Not even if he tried. The boy halted, his eyes going wide as he stared down at the wing.

"Oh no!" he loudly declared to the world. Castel was long forgotten as he circled the wing, trying to figure out how something so awful could have happened. It was up to him now, he supposed, to get down to the bottom of this mystery. Puppy blue eyes lifted from the only piece of evidence he had. Right! Castel! She'd help!

The boy talked at her, saying a bunch of nothing. Some words could have been made out, like birdie and gone, but most of it was just meaningless babble. To him it made sense, which was all hat mattered. After he'd explained everything to the woman, and after he was certain that she'd help him on his quest, Lauraceae picked up the wing and marched off in a random direction.

This was The Case of the Missing Bird with the Missing Wing. With Detective Laurel and his trusty sidekick, the beautiful and talented Miss Castel, he was certain they could get to the bottom of this mystery.

I am so sorry for the wait!

Unfortunately, a nap was not in the cards for the tired young girl. The pup approached her with enthusiasm, only to stop dead in his tracks at the sight of the bird wing. He declared a horrified, but adorable, 'Oh, no!', and then ran over to explain the tragedy to Cas. Though most of it was nothing but worried babbles, she could understand that the wing - which she had intended to give him for a present - had been taken the wrong way. Apparently, he was more concerned with the de-winged bird than with the toy, and that was just fine for the silver-dusted wolf. A game to play would be just as good to keep him occupied, and then perhaps Sahalie could have some time to herself.

Cas dropped a gentle lick to the boy's ears when he approached her, and she forced herself to her feet. Her tail wagged with the endless patience that she only had with the pups of the pack, and she was more than willing to forego her nap to play Detective with the child. Luckily, she was not in pain, and the movement might even help with the stiffness in her limbs. She bounced after the pup, putting as much enthusiasm into her actions as possible.

"Where are we heading, Detective?" she teased, angling her ears down at the boy. She placed a mock serious expression on her face, as any good actor would when playing such a part. "Where'd the bird go?" She didn't have the heart to tell him that most of the bird was in her stomach.
