There was little that could pull the little Avalon away from the warmth and comfort of his mother's tummy. After all, he had everything that he needed right there. Food whenever he was hungry, a comforting embrace of her lush fur whenever he was tired or just wanted to cuddle. And alongside him constantly, his siblings. What more could a pup want?
Well, a lot more actually. Ever since the day his eyes had opened and his hearing began to develop, the young fluff ball was growing more and more curious about his ever expanding world. He was less and less content to just sit obediently in the den and tussle with his brother and sister, or nap. The light that poured in from the entrance compelled him, pulled at his tiny imagination. What was out there in that light? He wanted to see, he wanted to know oh so badly. But each time he got within a few feet of the earthen opening, his mother was there to pull him away. Fussily he protested every time, pretending to sulk while he was really plotting out his next attempt at the great escape. Chimera was not alone in his eager curiosity, for his brother Griff, also made many attempts at breaking free from the den.
He used this to his advantage. When mom wasn't looking, distracted by rounding up his larger brother, the dark furred boy would try to slip under the radar undetected. But oh his mother was a sharp one alright! There was no fooling her, no sir. Her diligence was like a challenge he was all to willing to take up, and to one day, overcome. Outside there were sounds. Voices...new voices and flickers of unfamiliar movement. Something was going on! Normally it was so quiet, so this meant that something had to be up. The voice of his sister confirmed just as much, and in tiny little whirl of dark fur, he peeled away from his mothers teat. Stumbling forward awkwardly on his short little legs, he clambered after his brother, making directly for the source of the light. He was so excited, so hot on the heels of his brother, that he couldn't stop himself in time. Blinding white light hit his eyes, causing his baby blues to wrench shut. Tumbling forward, he barreled right into Griffin's rump with an oomph. No sooner had the collision occurred, was his brother off and gone, leaving the smallest of the trio sprawled comically, face down in the grass. Creaking his eyes open again, the daylight was less intense than before. The blurred shapes of paws much larger than his own filled his vision, and the retreating form of a bushy rust colored tail. But what mattered the most was that he was free at last! Propping himself back up on unsteady legs, with a triumphant little growl, he promptly attacked the first thing he saw. Which just so happened to be the massive black paw of Askan, which was now victim to a set of needle like puppy teeth. His first day outside, and Kasai was stirring up mischief already.
we can be blue as a neon light, singing them sad love songs all night
