Sphinx Avalon
Any fear Sphinx may have had about what this rabbit could possibly do to her was quickly washed away in the flood of praise that Askan once more doused her with, growing ever fonder of that little nickname he was using to call her. Something special that would belong only to her and something neither Griffin nor Chimera could take away like they did with anything relatively cool she found while exploring. The congratulatory nudge from his snout sending a pleasant sensation along her spine while she could feel her chest puff out just a little more than usual. Something one could liken to pride.

In response to his question, her head gave a subtle tilt to the side, oversized ears flopping with it while her gaze focused on the oblivious smudge of brown that hopped along and nibbled on the blades of grass without a care in the world. Contemplating her choice of action in this situation. In typical puppy fashion, there was only one proper answer to his question.

"CHASE!" She shouted while suddenly lunging forward all too eager to begin chasing the brown creature that had now earned a target on its back. Oversized paws kicked up traces of mud in her wake as she quickly realized just how fast this rabbit could move, metaphorically eating its dust in no time fast. But it was an overlooked stick lodged in the mud that truly brought the chase to a swift end, one oversized paw catching on the darn thing and sending the speckled child tumbling forward until she landed on her tummy in a sprawled out position like a bear skin rug and an oof left her lips.

It took her a few moments to come to her senses on what had happened, a saddened expression settling over her facial features as her transitioning gaze watched the furry thing slip into its burrow.

Askan watched with obvious amusement as the pup kicked off into a spring after the furry little critter. He didn't think she'd catch it, they were damn fast after all, but it'd be good practice anyway. And from the looks of it, she was having a lot of fun. Or at least until crashed down onto the floor, tummy first.

Just like her big sister, then? It had taken her a while to be steady on her feet and it seemed as though the same applied to little Sphinx.

Trotting along, Askan hurried over to make sure she was okay. Once again he offered her a soothing nudge and pulled at her scruff to encourage her to get back onto her feet. It was okay, everyone fell over sometimes. The most important part was to get back up as soon as they could.

"It's okay, Lil Bug. There are plenty more rabbits to chase around here. When you're a little bigger I'll show you how the pro's do it." To emphasis his point, he bent down and wiggled his butt. Forever the show off. For now though, they had an adventure to start. "Come on, lets go to the Lookout, I'll race you!"

He'd let her win. Probably. That was the nice thing to do, right? She was his friend and she deserved to be happy, winning a race against a big grump like himself would surely put a smile on her face. Or so he hoped.

Sphinx Avalon
The heaviest, most dramatic sigh that Sphinx could muster; she did learn from the best A.K.A Askan after all, passed over her lips and made the looser bits of mud near her mouth quiver for a second under the gust of her exhale. Ears splaying back to further express her dismay at having failed to catch the blazing fast rabbit that had escaped with its life. Luckily, though, whatever dejection crossed her face was quickly discarded and everything made right again when Askan approached to offer a quick nudge before giving her scruff a small tug to cue it was time to get back up again. A strong Rye wolf like she hoped to be one day didn't lay about and mope when things got tough.

"Sphinx get good. Get big. Sphinx be pro?" She questioned while turning about to face Askan and mirror the bow he positioned himself in, that butt wiggle an awfully contagious thing that had her own rump wiggling and tail wagging a million miles an hour. Her mind already starting to forget all about the rabbit and her face plant into the mud even though the evidence of such remained present upon her chin, paws and underbelly. Once ebony fur now caked in a chocolate brown.

Now, a new adventure was about to begin and there was no holding back the flood of excitement. An equally excited bark escaping the young Avalon's mouth before bolting for this Lookout they had originally planned on going to until the tracks in the mud had distracted the goldfish of a pup. The sky above gradually darkening further to allow the first speckles of stars to dot the navy blanket. If there was one thing Sphinx was good at doing, it was winning races. Even if she was oblivious to the fact the adults let her win.

FADE.
