Mabel Donata
Mabel is at the borders, far from where she allowed to be! Somebody had better fetch her and bring her home. AW but tags for @Corsair" and @Ayla. July 11

In a few days the pups would be moved from their private birthing den to the communal den and would be awarded with more freedom than what they currently held. Mabel did not know this, and even if she did it probably would not have changed her current feelings and actions. She was bored of their designated play area and bored of the walks that the adults would take them on and she was bored of always doing what the grownups told them to. Bored.

So when Mom had gone off to do whatever it was that she did during the day and Dad had left after checking on them Mabel had done her best to accost her siblings before promptly walking past their invisible line. Out and away from the small opening and into the now more familiar territory. This was all still boring though, the adults took them for walks through these areas so frequently that Mabel didn't even care that she was now seeing them alone, she wanted something new.

Which was exactly how she now found herself standing on the edge of the well marked borders, Mom's scent freshly marked. The alpha would not be back to check on this area for some time and the pup knew that this was the perfect time. Lifting a single paw she prepared to take a step over into the unknown.

Ayla Donata
Momma and Papa had given them a lot more free reign around the territory, something that made the girl both very excited and highly terrified. It was becoming very clear that Ayla Donata was no explorer, but rather a bit of a home body. She’d yet to venture anywhere close to the borders, afraid of upsetting her parents and of the bad wolves they had described lurking beyond them. Yet, within the borders she was keen on learning every nook and cranny she could. The little tan puff ball loved her home and everyone in it, even her rambunctious siblings who were often up to no good.

And, speaking of no good, the youngest Donata traveled across the scent of her littermate sister. This close to the border she knew it had to be no good and she paused for a moment, brows pulling together in decision. Should she go get momma or papa or maybe one of the other big ones? Or should she try to stop her herself? In the end the girl decided it would take much too long for her to happen across someone, her sense of tracking very weak and her legs much too short. No, she’d have to stop her sister herself! She took a deep breath then went to follow after her sibling. Why couldn’t Mabel just do what she was supposed to?

It was a good thing that Ayla got there when she did, because upon her arrival she was met with the sight of the pale Donata fully prepared to breach the most important rule of all. “Maby, no! Bad!” she cried, puppy blue gaze wide in alarm as she ran forward in an attempt to stop the other.

Mabel Donata
shitty phone post sorry!

Mabel's heart was flying, she was so close to getting exactly what she wanted. Ready to flounce past the invisible smelly line the child's paw was coming down quickly but halted only a couple of centimetres over the ground. Turning to glance apprehensively over her shoulder the pup spotted her sister who was talking so loudly she was sure to attract the attention of the adults. Narrowing her eyes Mabel held back a dramatic sigh, she had told Ayla and Corsair she was going for a walk and asked them to come and Ayla has said no!

But, this haughty indignation lasted only for a couple of seconds before turning into a triumphant smile. Raising her tail into a wag she sneered, "Ayla bad! No grown up." Both girls knew that they weren't allowed out of their play area except to go on walks with the adults and yet here Ayla was out and about without a grownup babysitting her. Letting her words sink in for only a second Mabel's smile grew larger and she placed her creamy paw firmly onto the ground. She was past the boundary, she was braking the rules and Ayla would have to chose whether he was going to make a scene or just be along for the ride.

Her eyes never left her sister as a second paw followed the first, and then a third and then she was all the way out of the territory. Doing her best to imitate their Mom Mabel tried and failed to raise a single brow. What would Ayla do?

Ayla Donata
The sigh that came from Mabel’s jaws proved her annoyance at Ayla’s antics but the youngest Donata could care less. Momma and Papa had told them the rules, and there she went just breaking them! When the pale girl had asked her siblings if they’d wanted to tag along for a walk the redhead had figured she’d just meant around the territory. Boy, she should have known! Anything they were told always seemed to go in one ear and out the other with her rambunctious no good doing sister.

"Ayla bad! No grown up." Mabel spat back and the youngest Donata’s brows pulled together in confusion. What did she mean, bad? Ayla wasn’t the one deliberately going again Momma and Papa! Ayla was...was...she looked at the ground then around them and instantly her tail curled against her stomach with a whine. But, she was being bad. She wasn’t where she was supposed to be. She was a rule breaker. Oh the shame! Puppy blue gaze narrowed on her pale sibling accusingly as if to say ‘you made me do this!’. If Mabel just did what she was supposed to they wouldn’t be in this mess! Her stomach dropped when the girl went above and beyond and effectively left the territory entirely. She looked around in a panic, hoping for an adult to come out of the shadows and to her rescue. Yet, she knew in her heart that that wouldn’t be the case. She contemplated for a moment going to try and find an adult, but her legs were much too short and her sister was much too stubborn. By the time she found someone and showed them where Mabel had been the other would either be long gone or would find a way to pin it on her. There was only one thing to do.

Hesitantly she moved forward, staring at the invisible boundary and taking a big breath before shakily putting a paw over, then another, and another until finally she was completely past. She looked at Mabel, convinced she might be sick.

Mabel Donata
Ayla could be such a baby about following the rules sometimes. @Corsair never suggested that they didn't do as they were told but he never protested Mabel's schemes either. But the redhead, she fought against them tooth and nail for a few minutes before usually giving in and letting her siblings have the adventures they wanted. Two against one wasn't really a fair way to play their cards but the pup didn't care as long as she was getting her own way. Mabel has the most of Aponi in her of all of her mother's children.Still, she expected more of a fight than the curling of her sister's tail and then the silent way she walked over the borders. She looked a little queasy, like if they ate too quickly but Mabel hardly cared. As long as she didn't et any sick on her white coat Ayla could throw up if she wanted to. Her already triumphant smile twisted even larger, so big that her cheeks began to hurt. Oh Corsair was going to be so jealous when they got home and told him they had gone out of the borders! They weren't allowed to do that at all, let alone when they were alone.Mabel wasn't completely uncompassionate though. Walking back to her unsteady looking sister she pressed her creamy muzzle against her sister's ribs in a sign of comfort, "No one find out." She said as reassuringly as she could in the broken English she was just getting the hang of. As lobby as neither of them told there was no way anyone would find out she reckoned. This of course was wrong and when their mother found their scent on the borders they would both get nips on their bottoms from the silver queen and a stern lecture from their father. Mabel didn't know that yet though. Her plan, as far as she was concerned, was foolproof. Go for a short walk and come back before anybody notices.

Zev
The brute was new to the pack, and he had to behave for the time being or loose his place within it; but that didn’t stop him from smiled wickedly as he watched the pups cross the border. Oh if only he was not part of this pack he’d grab one or both and offer up their hearts to the gods, of course the bold females heart would need to be removed from her body first. Zev found himself licking his lips before he could stop himself, oh a glorious sacrifice that would be, luckily for the pups though he had recently made a sacrifice and the gods had not only accepted it, they gifted him in return so he was content for the time being, as were the gods.

Now… should he scare the pups back across the boarder, or just pick one up and carry them back, even as old as they were the hefty male would have no problem carrying the bold female, and the other was a sheep she’d follow. Or.. should he join them on this jaunt,

If only his Bascha were here he’d have her tend to these whelps but since she was not yet of this pack he’d hurt her chances of getting her accepted into the fold if she came to near them. The thought of the mother wolf tearing into his shoulder just for talking to her lonesome whelp was enough to make him want abandon these young fools to the wilds.

Instead he leapt off his fallen log and plunked to the ground less then gracefully and circled the pair he had no idea what to say to them he knew the bold brat would likely be more then he could handle, alive… He was no father nor was he a baby sitter but if he injured her on the way back he could at least tend to the injuries he’d cause, Luckily for the pups he had not rolled in anything particularly smelly lately so his scent though musty was not intolerable and he had clean most of his breakfast off his blackened muzzle but his paws still held a little blood, he was not keen to groom himself, that was in his mind, a waste of time.

He sat down infant of the girls and his crystalline blue, near white eyes stared into the bold ones eyes, He still had not yet spoken, he waited to see if she’d try to move past him, give him an excuse to stop her by force, Otherwise she’d have to convince him to travel with her, either way he was a mite bit bored and either course of action to him might hold possibilities of entertainment.

Ayla Donata
Have a little faith in me
Ayla Donata

No one find out. Yeah right, famous last words Maby. As though summoned by the promise of the impossible heavy steps echoed through the trees around them. Ayla shrunk further in on herself just waiting for their mother's sharp voice to cut through the air like a lion tamers whip, driving the children back home where they belonged. The misty woods did little to aid the pups vision, nor ease her heart as the shadows spat forth a rather smelly spectre. "Now dunnit," the child whispered as she inched closer to her pale sisters flank. The yeth hound was gonna get them.

There were no pretty turns of phrase or attempts to lure them further into the mist shrouded forest but that didn't stop her heart from threatening to hammer clean out of her ribcage. The tawny child could have been swallowed right up by the earth and been perfectly happy in that moment. As it was, she probably blended a lot better than Mabel did, maybe, if she stayed really still, the yeth hound wouldn't know she was there... but then what would she do if it tried to steal away her sister?!

A whine was building in the back of the small child's throat. If he came even one step closer, she was going to scream and pray her parents were near.

@Ayla one more post from you and I'll archive with my next one

Ayla was not the only one to notice the thud that was created when Zev hit the earth. Mabel too wanted to shrink back and hide in case it was mother, but she took her duty of older sister seriously. Besides, she usually took the blame for the adventures they went on. Mabel could do a lot of things but lie to their parents was not one of them and as a result when they inevitably got caught she took the brunt of the fault. The cream pup didn’t mind really, Corsair was the only boy so he was supposed to set a good example for his sisters and Ayla was so afraid of being in trouble so that left her.

Standing up tall she grit her teeth, ready to take whatever punishment was about to be doled out upon them, even insist that it wasn’t Ayla’s fault. Thankfully, it wasn’t their mother but instead that weird smelly guy that had joined the pack. At least, Mabel thought he had joined the pack. He hardly talked to anyone and she rarely saw him more than briefly. Staring back at him in deviance the Donata let the silence drag on as her sister trembled by her side. It made the child mad, who did he think he was making her sister so scared?

Mabel had half a mind to raise her chin even farther and walk right past the stupid smelly wolf just to show she wasn’t scared of him. But, she didn’t know him well enough yet to know if he would let her go or call for their parents to come retrieve them. The thought of Aponi or Serach pulling them back by their ears was enough to make the pup huff in displeasure. Giving Zev the best stink eye she could muster Mabel turned away, ”Let go Ayla.” It might have been more intimidating if her grammar had been correct, but that was besides the point.

saw you in the village playin' mandolin
Ayla Donata

Not one to put up much of a fight in a situation like this the soot and ember child clung to her lighter sisters side like a burr in her fur. Eyes stayed trained on the big smelly one, wondering just who he was and what the big idea was? She dropped her voice to a whisper so only Mabel would hear, "We go bath so we don't get stinky like him." Not that she had ever been particularly fond of washing but if it spared her assaulting others with such a stank then she would do it every day! "Maybee gonna go fast?" She honestly thought they might be able to get away from him if they just picked up the pace.
