Enia Athesila
For @Bero

The youngest daughter of the Athesila’s did not venture outside of Secret Woodlands very often. When she remained with the borders of her home, the wanderlust she felt seemed simply lost and a sense of peace washed over her. Ever since her mother left – and still had not returned – Enia had been uneasy and finally made the decision to leave the pack grounds to go for a run. Something akin to guilt stirred within her but the yearling did her best to push the feeling away. She should have been guarding the borders or looking after her ever active brothers. It was always hard to keep track of them and ever since her brother disappeared off into who knew where, Enia made sure to only double her efforts.

Enia was not exactly angry at her brother for leaving but she was certainly confused – and worried. What if something happened to him? Why hadn’t they even sent out someone to search for him? Cinaed was a part of their family but it sure didn’t feel like they were treating him like such. If she went away would they send anyone out to search for her? The thought passed through her mind but the dark girl immediately dispelled it. Such thoughts were selfish and Secret Woodlands couldn’t afford another loss, especially with her mother gone for the time being.

When she finally tuned back into her surroundings – which probably wasn’t smart in retrospect – Enia flinched away, her nose scrunching against the repugnant smell in the air. What is that? It reminded her of what Grandma Nina had smelled like when the pack had gathered around her dead body and what Rayne had stunk of when her parents had found him – she had helped her father carry him back. Had someone died here? Light brown eyes swept the area, a crease in her eyebrows. Bones littered the area and it took everything in the young girl’s will to keep her from retreating.

Bero Aethsila

The youngest female Athesila might not wander outside of their parents’ borders very often, but the youngest son? Oh, he had other ideas entirely. Sure, he could smell the borders their parents and siblings and packmates left behind, but it just never made quite the same impression it seemed to make on the others. There were no ‘what ifs’ to plague the baby boy – only adventures out beyond the rules and regulations that he was missing out on. He followed his nose, and sometimes his paws, and who cared where it left him?

Except today his nose wasn’t helping much at all. It kind of…it kind of stunk here, and Bero was beginning to think he didn’t like it very much.

Apparently not every adventure could be a good one (though the pup wasn’t entirely ready to write the possibility out completely), and he was starting to entertain the notion of turning around and heading home. It would be a little easier if he actually knew which direction the Secret Woodlands lay in-- Oh hey! Bero blinked, barking as he stormed over to his sister (with absolutely no grace at all). “Cin!” he rumbled, tail waving behind him easily. “Y’know the way home, right? Right? Right?”

Enia Athesila

Despite her younger brother’s arrival being audible to the yearling, she still gave a jolt when her older brother’s coined nickname flowed from his mouth. The dark Athesila spun around, light brown eyes anxiously glancing around the area before settling on one of her younger brothers. Even though happiness came with the arrival of her brother – even if he was outside of the territory – Enia couldn’t help the feeling of sinking disappointment that filled her when Cinaed was nowhere in sight. She almost laughed aloud at Bero’s question. Did she know the way home? Enia wouldn’t have left the territory had she not known the way home. In retrospect, the Athesila yearling realized that she probably should have remained, especially with her mother still gone. Who was taking care of the children and making sure that they didn’t sneak off just like Bero had?

Even with her petite build, Enia leaned down, her light brown eyes sparkling at her brother. Jaws parted to speak, "I do! D’you?" Eyes narrowed on the child in front of her, nose twitching. Gosh, it smelt so bad there. The girl returned to her former position, a huff escaping her maw. "And I’m Enia, not Cin, B." Her tail gave a wave behind her. She didn’t want another scare like that again.

Bero Aethsila

If he had known he’d disappointed his sister, he might have felt a bit bad – it was a slip of the tongue (Cinead and Enia looked far more alike than the third member of the trio) – and he hadn’t meant to make her upset. Bero knew who she was, and was more than happy to see her; the reminder had his face falling a little bit, not entirely aware his mouth had commit mutiny until that very moment. Ears leveled out to the side and he crooned, pink tongue flashing out to lick the bottom of the yearling’s chin apologetically. He was trouble, sure, but Bero never meant to be mean.

“Sorry, Enia,” he peeped, gazing up with big, burnt orange eyes. That puppy gaze worked so well on their parents -- and he hadn’t meant it! Honest!

But she’d asked him something. If he knew the way back to Secret Woodlands. Was this a test? Why was she asking him after he’d asked her the same question? Brows furrowed, and Bero shook his head. “Nope. Went a little far,” he admitted plainly, as if nothing were wrong with that. “An’ it smells real bad here. Now I dunno! Will you take us back, maybe?”

Enia Athesila

Light brown eyes softened as her little brother apologized. The youngest daughter of the Athesilas was never one to hold a grudge and certainly not towards someone of her own blood. The yearling's dark tail wagged behind her as Bero continued on. The honest confusion that came across only worried Enia further. What would have happened if she hadn't come out here? Would he have been able to make it home? The young girl did her best to push that thought away. It would not due for her to think about things that were not actually happening. Nodding her head in response to her younger sibling's question, she spoke softly, "Yes, now let's go. If we hurry, we can make it home before dark." Enia mentioned with her head, the direction towards home and started on her way, making sure to keep a pace that Bero could keep up with.
