Leotie Rhys
@Adeltra Backdated to 1/17. Scouting Dem 1/3

She was still angry over what had happened at the border and if she were honest she didn't see why Ravenna wanted her and Adeltra to go looking for the missing pup. How did the heights wolves expect things to go when everything went the way it had. They shouldn't have sent their subordinates down from the mountain threatening. Leotie decided it had to be the mountain air that made that red bitch think she was better than everyone.

She was sure that she shouldn't have said anything but that she just couldn't stand there and keep her mouth shut. Last time she had, she'd just stood there and let those height wolves talk to her pack however they wanted and it had happened again and she was tired of it. Like everyone could just come and walk all over them.

She looked over to her smaller companion as the moved through the marsh. Since it was early and this was the closest place to the willows the Agouti woman thought it the best place to start their search. “We can look here for a bit before we move on to somewhere else.”

Tension felt high in the pack now that they’d been side-blinded by the abandonment and accusations of the Heights wolves. She was still seething, really, for them to have been put on such a harsh pedestal like that. And to know that the wolf whom she’d thought was her friend, Elias, also believed it? Well that just left a more bitter taste in her mouth. She’d prove them wrong by being the one to find their daughter for them. They could think what they wanted but if the Ridge brought the girl to Aurora Heights’ borders and she explained everything to them, well they would just feel horrible wouldn’t they? Good, they deserved it.

She’d followed Leotie out to the Marsh, a grimace sticking to her maw at the wet surroundings. This place might be okay in the summer but in the winter? Her poor wet feet felt like they were going to fall off! Her amber-yellow gaze turned to the agouti woman, nodding in agreement. Yeah, maybe just for a little bit. Don’t wanna lose any toes. We can always come back and check some more, she said.

Leotie hadn't missed the expression on the young girls face since they'd set out to search for the missing pup. She expected that what had happened the previous day had most of the ridge wolves pretty angry. Though she did have to say anger from the young Archer was a surprise, she hadn't been sure the pup was capable of anger but then she would have said the same thing about herself only a year ago. Now was different, her life was different. She felt the same anger she had felt when she'd been ousted. They apparently didn't know a thing about family, at least that female alpha didn't if she was going to accuse family of taking her daughter. Leotie still didn't see what the ridge would have to gain from such an action.

The child agreed with her suggestion, “No, I rather like having my toes attached to my paws.” she certainly wouldn't for a pack that she was sure wouldn't be grateful they returned their daughter. In fact Leotie was almost certain they would accuse them of having her the entire time. “Would you like to talk about it?” She asked the pup before putting her nose to the ground in search of any scent of the heights.

Adeltra grinned at the woman’s comments. Though she hadn’t spent much time with her she knew that she liked her. She seemed like she had a level head and was kind. She also felt like she had a motherly aura around her, but then again she felt like all the women had a motherly aura around her. It hadn’t gone past the young Archer that all the adults seemed to think that needed the utmost protection and while she was glad to know that she was cared for and glad that she was around to be cared for it sometimes felt...insulting? Just the hovering part. But, they also seemed to take her words to heart which made her happy. They probably wouldn’t even be in the Marsh if she hadn’t suggested they look anyways. Yes she was just a pup but it was good to know that her family trusted her and knew she thought things through.

”Would you like to talk about it?” Leotie asked and the girl gave her a side glance. She didn’t even need to ask what she wanted to talk about, what else would there be to talk about in their current situation? She let the question marinate for a few moments as she ventured a few feet away to sniff around and check for any clues before returning to her partner’s side. It’s just...so stupid. Why would they believe some stranger over their own family? she grumbled, tail giving an irritated flick behind her frame as she pawed as a piece of shrubbery.

Leotie had never spent her childhood in the world like Adeltra or Romanov so she couldn't know what it was like for them. The early parts of her puppyhood were spent with her mother but she didn't remember much of it. Then she was with her humans until the day she had gotten lost. She remembered more of those days. As she walked along next to her young companion she felt there had to be some question, something she didn't understand about what had happened the previous day.

Though she wasn't an Archer and knew she shouldn't have opened her mouth she at least could lend an ear to the girl. Everyone needed someone to talk to, someone they could trust. She had Sven but who did Addy have? Leotie didn't know and she didn't know if the young Archer would want to confide in her but she still offered all the same. She'd been poking around the edge of the marsh hoping she didn't find anything for the sake of the pup. Hopefully someone on the mountain taught her about water in winter. She looked up to where Adeltra was pawing at some shrubbery. “It is stupid,” she agreed, “But I suppose they aren't thinking to clearly right now with Revon missing and I guess they want to make sure even if deep down they know better,” she explained trying to be as unbiased as possible. She wanted Addy be able to make her own decisions about the situation. “They certainly could have gone about it differently and perhaps the outcome would have been different.”

Adeltra looked out across the Marsh, wishing that the girl would just come bounding toward them. Sure it might take a bit of the excitement of exploring out of it, but really she just wanted her to be okay. To get home to her family. It was funny how much she suddenly cared about a girl she’d never met, but then again the dark Archer always had had a penchant for caring for those who were unknown and especially if they were in danger. It could be said that she had a heart of steel, though she wasn’t cold. No, it simply meant her heart was strong and steadfast. She knew what was right and what was wrong and she’d chase after both either way. Even with the bad situation between the Heights and the Ridge, Adeltra still knew that it was right thing to do to look for her.

She moved across the marsh, paws squishing in the cold waters but she did her best to ignore it. There was no sign, no scent of her red-headed cousin. But there was still a whole expanse of marsh to look after, maybe there would be a clue somewhere out there. She pushed forward, nose twitching.

Her auds shifted toward Leotie as she spoke. She nodded in agreement with her words, though she was surprised they lacked the malice that the agouti woman had shown the previous day. Adeltra couldn’t say that she thought the outburst was appropriate, especially not after Ravenna had told them to leave and the backlash it had caused, but as an Archer she could admire her sticking to her guns. Archers were firm in their endeavors and beliefs and they were sure to prove it. The second might not be an Archer but she seemed to have the guts to live with them. Perhaps they were rubbing off on her.

Yeah, they definitely could have gone about it another way. I don’t know how everyone reacted when I was gone, but I’d like to think they were also pretty scared. The Ridge knows what that loss is like and I just feel like it was an extra slap across the face to be accused of stealing a pup, she said as they searched. Her nose poked at a plant, sniffing it for any old wolfy scents. Nothing. We’re not out here searching for them though. We’re searching for Revon. Because even if her pack is stupid she still needs help, the girl continued with a firmness in her voice that showed her resolve on the matter.

The Agouti woman had never had the chance to have pups of her own so she had no idea what it felt like to have one go missing. While she didn't think Kyna was right in her behavior at their borders the previous day she also could only imagine what the mother was going through. Tor a moment she paused in her search to try and imagine how she would feel if one of her own pups was missing or kidnapped. She was sure she would he frightened that she would never see it again, worried of what might he happening to it. So many other emotions she didn't even know if she could name them all.

Hearing Adeltra's paws and her own squishing through the mud and the shiver that ran down her spine from the cold. It only caused her to think about Revon out by herself or with some wolf she didn't know in the cold away from her family. She thought about how scared the pup must be. Blue eyes turned on Adeltra, she too had been missing and had been lucky enough to come across Sven’s mother who returned her to the Ridge.

In her explanation she had tried to be as unbiased as she could be. She didn't want to push her anger of the situation on to the pup. Adeltra was old enough to make her own decisions about things and this was one of those things. Still that didn't mean she wouldn't have questions, Leotie remembered asking Triell questions when she’d been in Oak Tree Bend and even once they had formed the draw. If she could help Addy to understand things a little better then she would be glad to help where she could.

Adeltra brought up a good point as she spoke, something that Leotie hadn't even considered. “I agree, it was like they were saying that we didn't know what it was like to have a missing pup but we do. I wasn't here when you went missing but I saw what it did to everyone who know you. So I think they all felt some sympathy for Greer and Kyna. I don't know if they know that you had gone missing. I've learned that a lot of times others don't think about what could be in someone's past especially when they are so consumed by their own things. So maybe if they knew or thought about the fact that you had gone missing they would have approached the situation in a different way.”

Leotie returned to her search just as Addy had but the girl spoke again. “We are doing it for Revon because no child should be out on their own until they are ready and she needs to be found so nothing can happen to her.” She offered Adeltra a smile, for being so young she was such a strong girl.

Leotie seemed to agree with her words, which pleased the girl. She understood her point about them reacting the way they had perhaps because they didn’t know their situation. Adeltra always tried to see into the minds of others, to understand their reactions. She couldn’t say she was an unbiased party because her own family would always come first but in most aspects she was. Though she was only a girl and had a long ways to go before she had pups of her own, she could see that Greer and Kyna were both very stressed over the loss of Revon. And, really, who could blame them? But she still didn’t the situation was handled right. When Piety had returned the dark girl to the Willows Sven had been hurt by it and Adeltra hadn’t known the situation, that he was Piety’s son. She still didn’t know the full story as it wasn’t her business unless her pale cousin wanted to tell her himself, but she had understood that she didn’t know both sides of the story. She’d hiked up her big girl panties and apologized to the man. If a pup could do that certainly two adults could too?

Addy gave the agouti woman a smile in return, meandering forward as they continued their search. Why do you think the wolves that took her would wanna blame us? she asked, partially thinking out loud and partially being serious. She just didn’t understand.

When she had answered Adeltra's question she had thought about her own past. How no one besides those she'd told knew of her ousting or that she'd been in Oak Tree Bend and left there with Triell to form the draw. None of them knew of how Sven had saved her twice and so others made their judgments. She also supposed there were others who only cared for themselves and didn't want to know or understand what another wolf or another pack had been through. Still that didn't give an excuse for the behavior of the heights wolves. Leotie still felt they could have been more respectful about especially if they weren't certain that Sven had been the one to take Revon. Things however couldn't be changed now and she didn't know how they would fix things with the heights wolves.

Blue eyes turned on the young Archer as she asked another question. It was in Leotie's opinion a very insightful question. “That is a good question Addy, perhaps something happened between us and them? The question would then be what and who were the ones that took her.” The Agouti woman gave this a moment's thought, “Perhaps we are going about this all wrong.”
