Sterling Archer-Lyall
open to the siblings and/or 1-3 others | early morning, he's along the eastern edge of the lagoon
tags for @Odin and @Kip so they're in the know

He was growing tired of traveling. His mother’s scent weighed heavy on the land the further they went west, which meant they were getting closer. She was somewhere close, just out of reach… it was infuriating. Especially since he kept running into undesirable wolves who had to poke their noses where they didn’t belong. He would be sure to pester the willow wolves more after he’d found mother and notified her of what had happened. And now there were two more wolves added to their group. An older brother, Odin, and his loud-mouthed lady friend. As though they had needed more numbers to slow them down… Sterling was growing impatient. They had travelled enough; he was ready to reunite with his parents.

Once more the boy had separated from the group, sneaking ahead of them in hopes of finding mother first. The morning sun had greeted him as he advanced forward, poking through the branches and illuminating the body of water in the distance. His nose lifted to the sky, nostrils flaring as he inhaled deeply. She was here, somewhere. A frown creased his features as he lowered his maw, brows narrowing darkly. He didn’t want to call for her—that wasn’t the point of their journey. They were supposed to find her and she had not made it easy.

He stepped forward, following the edge of the lagoon as he continued to follow his mother’s trail… even if she was not lurking around there had to be someone lurking about who knew where she was… The scent of others was strong here; they mingled with his mother’s. It was the same scents that littered the striped forest on the eastern side of the mountain. Which meant they were all here, somewhere…

Judas ARCHER
by the light of the moon, we run

Judas time here in these lands had an of yet been uneventful. It was hard, being still just a kid and not only traveling on your own, but traveling during the heart of winter - his first winter. He was impressed with himself (without anyone to show off to) that he had gone this far without complications. Unknowing to him, the winter this year had been far less horrible then the last few years past. Lucky enough for the rogue black pup.

Unlike Sterling, he had no group to rush away from, having done that weeks ago. He didn't know what do really do with himself but to wonder and, with a hope, find the father he already felt like it had been too long since he had seen last. Whether he stayed with him or his brothers was another matter up for discussion.

He had thought he might find him in the Willow Ridge, having spoken of it so well and often, bit when arriving in the Rise and making way to the willow trees, no scent of him had lingered there. Judas has moved on and apparently in the right direction. He was here, somewhere. The snows did not make it easy on him to pin-point exactly where. But he did catch someone's scent and, as he moved forward still, could now see the off-white wolf not too far off. Definitely not who he was looking for.

It was quickly becoming a habit to scan the eastern edge of the lagoon for any sign of her children, but also to maintain the warning markers that would allow others to know they were getting close to claimed land. It was by no means hers, and as long as they stayed east they would never stumble too close, but marshy ground meant more work in maintaining scents.

It was a chance glance that fell on the dark wolf, and he could almost pass for one of hers were he not so dark. The second sweep, however, fell on a familiar form better concealed by the snow. There wasn't much cover for the Archer to dive behind and so she held her ground, tail waving in wide sweeps as she barked a greeting. "Took yer long enough."

His nose twitched at the scent of another, his brows snapping together as his head turned round to locate the origin. There was a dark figure in the distance, prowling through the snow, and for a fleeting moment he almost believed it to be his mother. Or one of his sisters. But the scent was all wrong; it was not one he recognized. A frown sprawled across his pale features, his tail flicking in frustration. He did not advance toward the stranger and instead remained where he was, his smoke-coloured eyes making another sweep over his surroundings.

There was another scent that caused his focus to deter, his tail lifting in excitement as he stepped toward the small charcoal woman. Took yer long enough. He rolled his eyes as he took another step forward, his maw canted to the side as his features softened. Got held up, he muttered in response, his frown returning. Pesky Ridge wolves. An annoyance, really. Mother should have dealt with them sooner, as they were awfully close to the lagoon.

But he had found her! He was the first! That was all that mattered now. His travelling had come to an end. He hoped, for now at least.

Judas ARCHER
by the light of the moon, we run

It seemed as the young white wolf traveled, they were on the same terms. They each had someplace they were going, a mission so to speak and didn't have time for idle chit-chat. Good. Though as Judas lifted his nose to the sky, sniffing out for signs of his father once more, it seemed to pull him into the direction of the lone wolf- scratch that, wolf....pair? As Judas looked back down, he noticed another wolf had come along, shorter then both he and the white wolf yet, darker like himself but not quite and older. It seemed obvious they knew one another, which Judas sought as an opportunity.

Slipping forward, Judas Archer made to move towards the pair, arching far enough away to still keep his distance and yet, hear in for any information. 'Pesky Ridge wolves', the youngest would say, which made Judas realize more so he had made the right choice in keeping his space. Judas has no intention of messing with someone who went against the Ridge. And why would he? It was his father's birth pack and his half brother's current home. Being the founding place where Archers flourished in Relic Lore, it was a place well worth keeping on the good end of.

While Sterling may have held his ground, Morganna kept moving to embrace her son. "Family usually are," she responded to his pesky comment, her tail still waving, a brow arching as she considered just what her troublesome brats may have been up to. "What'id yer do ter piss em off?" It wasn't like she hadn't warned them they were coming and that they were trouble to boot but it wasn't a headache she needed to deal with right now either.

It was then she realised the other wolf had moved, close enough to listen without seeming to intrude. Something Jayse was particularly skilled at, so it wasn't like she didn't have practice spotting it. "An' what about you? It's rude ter listen in without contributin'." She questioned pointedly, a cant of her head inviting the other young wolf closer. She wasn't about to run him off for being curious.

Instinctively he reached forward with his nose, pressing the bridge of his maw against her chin as he leaned into her (un)welcomed embrace. The silver-dusted boy snorted at her words and he recoiled, his mercury gaze settling on her dark features. I didn’t piss 'em off, he retorted quickly, a cheeky lop-sided grin tumbling onto his dark lips. Bojay was testing their security, he added, his shoulders rolling into a lazy shrug. S’not our fault they don’t keep an eye on their borders. Truthfully the Duchess did not care about bothering their neighbours; they didn’t matter to him. He was just glad that their meeting with the Ridge wolves hadn’t gone worse and that Odin had jumped in when he had.

Just as he was about to mention his older brother Morganna spoke once more, addressing the dark shadow looming in the distance. He turned toward the stranger, his upper lip curled in a silent growl.

He was caught. It was obvious they knew he was there and yet as the pair embraced one another and continued on with their conversation, the rogue figured he would slip by them without much regard. He was wrong.

After just a moment, when the youth pulled away from the older woman, she turned her pale peachy gaze into his direction. Judas stopped instantly, head turning to the woman as dark gray eyes looked her over as she spoke. The tilt of her head suggested he was welcome to join them, but the snarled expression the youth offered suggested otherwise. In response to Sterling, Judas body stiffened, his tail aligning with his spine and his toes pressing to the dirt. Judas wasn't afraid of no fight.

"Just passing through..." He spoke, in all honesty, his attention placed primarily to the woman. "Caught a scent of someone I'm looking for and figured I'd follow it." Not a lie at all, though he still didn't reveal much information, which was his intention. He didn't know their pair so quite frankly, his business was none of their concern.

Sterling was quickly painting a picture that Morganna had foreseen and she rolled her eyes and sighed. "Well obviously they do or yer wouldn' be callin' 'em pesky now would yer?" As far as she could tell everything was still attached so there was little for her to be concerned about. She could only hope Bojay would join his brother shortly so she could make sure nothing was out of place on him either and add her own roughing to whatever he deserved elsewhere.

Her attention turned back to the shadow, a hint of a smile at the edge of her lips now that he had chosen to find his voice, "An' do they have a name? We've just moved 'ere recently, they might be one o' mine. Could save yer some wonderin'?"
