Idris Lockelake

Well, now he was here. Askan had come to greet him and welcome him inside just as he had promised and now he was a part of the crew. The first thing that felt more than necessary was to take a wander and see what was here. Askan hadn't explained in great detail what lay within his pack, but Idris was more comfortable finding out for himself anyways. He didn't need anyone to hold his hand and convince him that all would be alright.

Though as soon as he moved in further he did like what he saw. There were woods, of course, but he was more smitten by the lake within. One that seemed so inviting to him but as most lakes did, held a sense of wonder in the sense that the bottom could not be seen. There was no telling what was in there and the allure was exciting.

More than exploring, though, he hoped to find another member.

Hawthorne Selwyn

She was hot on his trail, wasting no time stalking after him like he was some sort of prey. The almost-yearling could only do that for so long, though. Boredom set in and it was either leave him to his own demises or make her presence known. The former seemed far too risky.

Hawthorne let out a rough bark, making it clear she wanted his attention. Who are ya? She said with the same sharpness of her superiors. She shadowed @Askan most of the time so it was only proper she seemed to have picked up some of his traits. Speaking of, this guy had the same smell as the younger leader. She almost couldn't believe that they had let another yearling in. What had this one said? What had he done?

Luckily, Idris wasn't all that aware that there was someone tailing him as he moved through the Edge. Everything around him was too new to focus on much else so it was easy to feel a little safer and less cautious now. When the bark resounded in his ears, they lifted and he turned his muzzle to look at who he easily presumed to be a stranger before even looking at them.

A girl, young like him but younger, who gave a very clear question as to who he was. An obvious question given that he was a stranger to everyone here now. Idris, he responded without hesitation for he wasn't scared of interrogations, just joined.

It was up to the girl if she wanted to introduce herself but as could be seen from his initial meeting of Askan, he wasn't in a rush to push a name out of anyone. After all, he was the newcomer and he expected folks to be curious about him so he might as well let them get their questions in first.

Pumpkin Eyes was hot on the newcomer’s trail and Sachiel was hot on his friend’s trail. He, too, was curious about the new yearling that had managed to convince Askan into allowing him to join and a little disappointed that she had not sought him out to pester the stranger together. But it did not matter—Sachiel was accompanying her whether she wanted him to or not.

At first, he had been seeking her out to pester her into another adventure, but once he discovered that she was following the scent of fresh meat Sachiel had changed his plans. What if she liked the newcomer better than him? No—that was a stupid thought. They were best friends; he wasn’t that easy to replace… was he? He gave his head a shake as he trailed after her, a frown tugging at his lips. Don’t be an idiot, he thought hastily to himself as he heard Pumpkin question the yearling. The male was quick to answer, giving his name without further prodding. Idris. He committed the name to memory as he sidled up next to his friend, his mismatched gaze sweeping over the newest Edge wolves… until he caught a glimpse of the irises nestled inside his skull. Orange. He blinked, his ears twitching as he lowered his gaze. Another one, he thought grumpily to himself as he remained silent, allowing his friend to do the introductions if she pleased.

She wasn't alone in this man hunt it seemed. The presence of her dear Plant Boy became obvious pretty fast. She bumped his shoulder in a silent greeting that would easily be identified as warm by her closest friend.

Idris, The girl rolled the name around, pretending as though it was important. If this guy was anything like the last yearling that joined then surely she wouldn't need to remember his name in the next week or two. I'm Hawthorne and this is... The girl trailed off as she looked over at her tawny comapnion. Surely he'd want to introduce himself at least once as Hawthorne seemed to have a bad habit of doing it for him. Which she hadn't decided if he minded or not, granted he never seemed to fuss about it.

She eyed the older male with a squinty gaze. So how did you get here?

Just when he thought that the pack was full of professional hiders, he finds that there is yet another who is interested in the fresh meat. Not that he could complain, though. Idris rather liked the attention he got as a newcomer - especially when the two of them were rather taunting. In a good way, though.

The agouti-flavored yearling didn't seem too keen on letting his tongue do the talking and instead made it quite clear that the two of them were pretty good buddies. It only solidified this idea when the dark girl introduced herself then led the other into introducing himself to which Idris' gaze wandered swiftly and gave an opening for his name.

The next question garnered a purse of his lips and a subtle shrug, wandered here, I suppose. Though apparently he had wandered somewhere important to his ancestry that he was trying to escape. Askan found me in the red forest. Talked a little and here I am. He understood that the two were likely going to induce judgment upon him and get a feel for their new freshmen to the group. Idris didn't mind, though. It wasn't like he had anything riding on his stay here.

It felt weird hearing his friend introduce herself as Hawthorne, as he very rarely called her by her birth name. Instead he preferred Pumpkin Eyes, or just Pumpkin, just as she often referred to him as Plant Boy. Which he still thought was odd, for he knew very little about plants—only enough to treat minor injuries and illness’. Unfortunately he hadn’t stuck around his father long enough to learn more, otherwise he'd be better suited for the nickname given to him by his orange-eyed sidekick. M’Sachiel, he chimed in, his tail wagging slowly behind him as he studied the dark yearling. His grayscale friend was quick to ask another question—one that also hesitated on the tip of Sachiel’s tongue. He was thankful that she was doing most of the talking, as Sachiel wasn’t very good at interrogation. He was the brawn (sort of?) and the good looks, while his sidekick was the brains. But he’d never admit that aloud. Not to Hawthorne. He didn’t want to inflate her ego any bigger than it already was.

The yearling answered quickly, mentioning that he had encountered their Edge Lord in the red forest south of the shallows. Talked a little and here I am. Huh. The yearling must’ve said something the grumpy leader liked, as he usually didn’t allow new members to join so easily. Usually they had to prove themselves first. Y’like it so far?

She focused mainly on the newcomer, curious as to his answers. A brow raised softly at the way he got here. Wandered. What was with these wolves just suddenly appearing and setting up camp? That Lenka girl had shown up out of nowhere before deciding to settle her entitled rear here.

Any slackers or moochers would learn quick, though. Hawthorne had been taken care of when she first showed up but in the past few months she had stepped up her game in the following months. Plant Boy made a wonderful addition too and helped her get twice as much work done.

Her ear gave a soft flick at her tawny friend's question. Hawthorne did at least hope this Idris fella liked it here. The Shallows were a glorious place to belong to and anyone would be lucky to call such a spot home.

Sachiel and Hawthorne, he thought to himself to help him remember them better. Idris wasn't the best at putting names to faces but he could easily recognize them if they were in front of him. Though, the conversation became slightly more narrow that Idris would have liked as the female yearling halted her questions and Sachiel decided to pick up the reigns. The dark raven boy could feel the scrutiny though he wasn't sure if he was just imagining it (as that would make the most sense; most of his emotional hunches were usually him being paranoid) or if it were happening. Yeah, I like it. It's been pretty nice so far. Very scenic and cozy. an itch of feeling like they were looking for him to say something in particular. As though they expected him to spill some nasty secret to them in order to gain their trust. How long have you guys lived here? He asked, wondering if they knew much about the Wildwood but it was obvious to him that neither of them were probably old enough to know his dad. Not unless he had come through which was still possible but his father didn't make it a habit to go somewhere more than twice.
