Kajika Tallis
RE: Fallen Tree Cove, a frostbitten bull moose stumbles into your territory.

@Moonshadow @Bastet @Birtie @Roland @Solas @Tulip @Lunette

As his amber gaze settled on the bull in the early morning hours during his patrol Kajika couldn't believe the luck that had fallen on the cove. The bull moose stumbled through the trees of fallen tree cove calling out every so often. That was what had drawn him to the creature that was clearly in a bad way. With the way their numbers had swelled in the past months he was sure they could bring this gift down easily. It would provide plenty of meat for all of them to last through the rest of winter or at least a good portion of it.

The dark alpha had watched the bull for some time trying to figure out what was wrong with it and finally deciding that it had some sort of Injury. By mid morning he’d decided it was time to call the pack to help bring it down. Raising his muzzle into the air he sent the call and when he'd finished he settled a safe distance from the bull moose but he was still able to keep. Close eye on it while he waited for the others to arrive.

Birtie Parlow-Tallis
She was quick to enter the scene, long strides to reach the side of Kajika. Birtie had been hearing the calls of the moose on and off but thought nothing of it. The large female had figured that the others would tend to the creature or that it would find its own way out soon enough. If that had been the case though surely the lead male would not have called for them.

"What do you want to do?" Her voice was barely above a whispered as she examined the moose. There was something wrong with the creature. They seemed uncomfortable and perhaps in pain but Birtie was no prime hunter or healer. She could not give an answer to what was bothering the musky odored creature.

Her tail gave a few brief lashes behind her. It would be ideal to solve this little problem swiftly since it didn't seem to be going away anytime soon.

I'm drowning in the waters of myself

How much longer could she run?

Not much.

She wasn't good enough. (For him. For anyone.) She was a waste of breath and bones. Useless. (Filth.) She achieved nothing. Amounted to nothing. Did nothing. She was a black hole, swallowing up every effort, every kindness, every ounce of joy and happiness until there was nothing left but darkness, and then, not even that. Just something bleak and endless stretched limply from horizon to horizon.

The call roused her from uneasy sleep by the lakeside, his voice like a sword through her skull, her body, her heart; she jolted awake, up on four shaky limbs, her mind fogging, torn between a dream's illusion of it being for her and the more real memory of it being for them. (And, for better or for worse, you're part of them again—time to start acting it.) Her breath smoked white in the chilly morning air. It took a few seconds for her heart to settle. For her mind to settle. For her legs to start moving, picking the way to where Kajika stood—she couldn't look at him in the morning light, he was a shadow, her eyes sliding off his form every time—with a female Lunette hadn't bothered introducing herself to before. She was a pale thing, cream and silver, and on principle, Lunette hated her.

Lunette hated mostly everyone. She especially hated you if you were female, and not Moonshadow, a recent development that only served to make her even more furious with herself and the world.

She wanted to do as she always had—step up next to Kajika, press her flank against his in greeting, hide her muzzle in the fold between his neck and jaw, but the sunlight had her paralyzed, or maybe it was just her monster. Maybe it was just her, being wrong, bad, broken. Her tail hung limp, her eyes, averted, her ears back. She studied the shadow of the bull moose in the distance, knowing what was to come, wishing she could simply descend into the mind of the hunter, give up every inhibition and scrap of sense and self-preservation—she wanted to rush the damn thing and kill it and be killed by it.

Bastet Akhenaten
She roused awake from her deep slumber, her head turning toward the sound of the noisy bull but she hesitated to react on the ground that she wasn't hungry and doubted that they had the numbers to bring the crazed bull down. She knew that in due time it would pass and she could return to her slumber--another loud call sent her ear backward in concern. She knew that call from anywhere, the male was a prominent figure in the pack and had proved himself worthy of the leadership position from his persistence alone, she was pleased that he had found the bull wandering aimlessly around in the pack and was eager to share the gift with the rest of the members, she only wished she wasn't so tired. With a yawn she lifted to all fours, performed a much needed stretch and started off to where the call had come, standing in wait were two other wolves lingering near the dark male lead; females. Bastet had never been the jealous type but she knew that with breeding season came the competition to find a mate and breed and the idea of competing for the attention of Kajika, the only male likely to produce a litter, made her stomach churn with uncertainty. She was no sure how she felt about the male, and was happy to have a distraction in the form of a raging moose, "I'm ready for whatever." she acknowledged the group, waiting for whatever came next.

Moonshadow Eastfall
I think I need help, cuz I'm drowning in myself

After their chat Moonshadow had gone to find her small shadow but hadnt when Kajika sent his call up. She had heard the bull moose bellow but paid no mind thinking it would make its way through on its own. It seemed like her best friend had another idea. She liked it and made her way to where he was. She took her time as she looked for any sign of Tulip on her way. Mercury orbs looked over each form and a smile formed on her maw as Lunettes silver form was there. She walked to the yearling her silver dusted tail wagging behind her. "Its good to see ya Lunette" She offered with a warm smile. It had been awhile since the onyx woman had seen the youngest Vuesian. After greeting the silver girl she gave a smile and nod to the rest of her pack mates. "Have a plan?" She asked her co-lead. If he didnt then maybe they could all come up with one together.

Tulip DayHeart
The girl was still in distraught after her confrontation with Basset. The yearling followed the howl to the location of her pack mates, not truly paying fair attention to the individuals themselves. The girl sought out her comfort, found the woman, and slinked up beside at Moonshadow. Her tail wagged at the alpha briefly before her attention turned to the purpose of this meeting.

A massive "oose" as the girl called them had garnished the pack's attention. Tulip's belly churned a bit nervously, she had participated in many raids in her life at the Peak. They were frequent thieves. However, she had never been one of the hunters. She had killed coyotes and wolves alike though, with a group. Surely their tactics for hunting were similar. This would be no challenge too large. Reassured in herself the girl looked to Kajika and awaited his command.

Tulip has a speech impairment that causes her to talk with a severe lisp and has selective mutism. I will not be writing her words to reflect this (outside of going mute), but ask those who roleplay with her to understand it's implied.

Solas ColdHeart
The call had found him on the edge of the border. Solas had wanted to do a brief border patrol before he went out hunting but that was quick to change when Kajika's voice rose into the air. Turning himself the stormy male went towards the direction of the call and found that most of the others had gathered already. He was late to the party.

He glanced at the moose and figured that it was probably the reason for the call. A trickle of anticipation went through him as a short grin stretched his lips. It would fill their caches quite nicely. He glanced to Kajika and Moon. Had they already figured out a plan or were they discussing it yet? He wanted to go ahead and figure out exactly how bad the frostbite was on the moose but he didn't want to mess everything up, especially in front of everyone.
