Sex: MaleThere was some hesitation in moving further north towards the Draw. A certain worry that he wouldn't be able to give his family there the answers they deserved. Reiko had been gone a while, more or less to his own wandering soul, but now that he had returned he still didn't have the right words. Even so he wanted to know how they were and what events had transpired. He was sure that things had changed since his departure but he was hopeful that it wouldn't be too much. Reiko loved his family whether he knew them personally or not and would always look to them for comfort but he didn't want to be a disappointment. A worry wart, sick by his own thoughts that family would be upset that he had been gone for much longer. At least in this place where Leotie and him had spent a day searching for a stick for his mother. The memory was blurry but he hoped that the Draw had become more like family for her as she had hoped it would.
He slipped away from the Draw after informing his co-lead @Treyah. She had a right to know when he decided to wander off for a day trip, especially after all the loss she had been through. He did his best to keep her spirits high, though. Even when his seemed to teeter back and forth every other day.
Kerberos knew he would need to get back on track sometime soon, though. Spring was around the corner and he was keen on making sure things went smoothly with no extra children needing to be watched. There would only be one litter. He had promised that back at the start of winter. If they made it through the end without crashing he had every intention of holding up that promise.
But through all of this thinking, a familiar scent caught his attention. He swiftly trotted ahead through the foliage and snow. Pale yellow eyes scanned the area to try and see if it could be true.
There was so much that he felt needed to be done, especially drawing so close to the Draw, yet he couldn't push any further north than he had. The pack ultimately meant that he would have a place to rest and center himself, but that wasn't his intention. Not yet, because he didn't want to devote himself to anyone or anything until he knew himself better. This was a pack that held history to him just as the Bend did, but he was a yearling now with every right to see elsewhere. Certainly didn't meant that he was prepared to be amongst strangers, either.
The distinct scent of the Draw drew closer whilst in the Grove, a smooth pedal backwards as he gazed around to find the source. It was a vague memory, almost as blurry as the one he had with Leotie, of Kerberos assisting him in the capture of a rabbit. A practice that his father had wished for him to exercise so that he could track and hunt on his own. So when the golden-eyed wolf got closer, Reiko seized the moment before he backed down. Long time no see, he swallows and gives an awkward laugh.
"Long time no see,"
He halted his movements as his tail began to wave behind him. A smile broke his features, something warm and genuine. There was a life in Kerberos' eyes that had been lacking for some time. Indeed. He rumbled back warmly as he took a few steps closer. The Rigel had every intention of leaving Reiko with enough room to not feel smothered but he still wished to be close. Close enough to make sure the boy was really here.
It's so terribly good to see you, Reiko. Kerberos felt strange speaking the name out loud. How are you? It was a simple question. The Draw leader was not looking for anything complicated and or in depth even.
The impact he supposedly made on the wolves of the Draw seemed to come full force as Kerberos' began to wave his tail behind him. A moment of subtle pleasure that his return meant something. Even though the man drew rather close, Reiko welcomed it and if he knew how to, he might have asked for the man to move closer but it seemed rather inappropriate.
Yellow eyes still clung to the figure of the man, curious but warm as he tried to gather exactly what it was he was feeling. Anxiety, maybe, but he definitely was happy to see a familiar face after all this time by himself. You too, he responded politely though he likely wouldn't readily admit that Kerberos hadn't been at the forefront of his mind this past year. How's my father? and Treyah? Reiko had assumed that they were well-off and doing well for themselves but it might be better to hear of their accomplishments from someone else before he went headfirst into the family reunion.
