Birtie Parlow-Tallis
@Bastet || Morning, Mostly Cloudy, -3°F (-19°C)

Her stance was strong and unwavering. Birtie was feeling the same thing she had felt back at the Coast. Perhaps this was why she had been avoiding sticking around back home. There was a part of the large female that craved power. She may not have wanted to lead (at the moment) but that didn't mean she didn't want to be close to the position.

She tipped back her head, calling for the female ranked above her. Surely others would hear the call if they were around but Birtie had no interest in collecting a group of onlookers. It was why she kept her call short and to the point.

So there she stood, a neutral area between the heart of the territory and the borders. Birtie would give the woman a chance to submit or even to talk it out (something she wasn't particularly good out) before she outright made a move for the rank.

Bastet Akhenaten
It seemed that each time she turned toward her den for a nap there was something or someone waiting for her to do something. She was tired but the feeling was forgotten the moment she realized that someone was calling for her and for a moment she searched her memory for who in the hell this wolf was. It dawned on her that the leaders had accepted some new faces recently and she figured that one of those wolves were demanding her appearance-- it was urgent and foreign on her ears but she didn't dare ignore it in case it was important. Her thick paws moved with calculated speed, coming to the clearing and eyeing the cream colored wolf with scrutiny. Now she remembered, this wolf was their third in command and if Bastet still had any wit about her she would conclude that this wolf demanded her position. "So soon? This doesn't look good on you..." she spoke, brows furling on her face. She supposed the wolf had no regard for politics and was purely seeking advancement, she would have a fight on her hands before the dark woman considered giving up her rank.

Birtie Parlow-Tallis
Fight post 1/5

Birtie did not care about the woman's words. They meant nothing to the large female. She held little regard for the time she was supposed to wait before moving on because if she waited too long the opportunity would slip away.

The large female briefly pulled back before launching forward with jaws wide open. Her teeth would meet nothing but the air with a sharp clack. The sound would be a stern physical warning to the dark woman that Birtie was not joking about this. She was serious and ready to use any means necessary to make the other female submit.

She pulled away to put space between the two of them again. Grungy yellow eyes narrowed into fine slits as her gaze stayed locked on the older Cove wolf.

I hope you don't mind where Bastet is intending to bite :D

Bastet Akhenaten

Birtie didn't respond but Bastet didn't notice, not when the large woman was barreling toward her, teeth bared with a intimidating snap of her jaws at the air. It was a display of dominance, a show of her size and strength and without hesitation the older woman moved to make a display of her own, this one was in the form of her teeth attempting to latch onto the cheek of her adversary. If her teeth were to meet flesh she would bite down harder, locking her jaws and shaking at the folds of skin as hard and swift as her neck muscles would allow. If the pale woman wanted to be this close she would feel the strength of Bastet's jaws, and though she didn't intend to shed blood just yet she wanted to lend a reminder to the woman that she was a force and wasn't afraid to use it. She wouldn't go easy on Birtie even despite her youth--in fact her foes youth was fuel for the aging woman, a reminder  that age came with experience.

It's fine! <3 || Fight post 3/5

The woman seemed to not mind her warning and instead latched onto her cheek. Birtie had not been expecting it, if anything she figured a muzzle grab or even neck grab was something to be expected. Even if she opened her jaws her cheek flesh was still firmly between the woman's teeth. Birtie let out a growl as she attempted to pull back from the dark female, even if it meant tugging at her own face.

If she managed to get free she'd back up and reposition herself to have a more squared stance, neck aligned with her back as her tail stayed in a dominant position. Birtie was persistent and was not willing to give up just yet. The contrasting duo had just gotten started after all. Now was the time to both brace herself for another possible cheek grab and try to find the weakest point of her opponent.

A successful hit made her bite down harder, attempting to make the woman squeal with discomfort as she rose onto her hindlegs, placing her forearms along the shoulders of her opponent, and switched her bite from the delicate skin of her cheek toward the even softer cartilage of her ears. In between bites she could feel her throat vibrate from the sound of vicious snarls and growls, a warning that she wouldn't stop until something or someone made her. She moved with the swiftness of a bullet, using her weight to push the woman around and also force her dominance in attempt to make her submit. She didn't want to harm the woman, in fact she could feel her energy sapping but that didn't stop her from wanting to gain some kind of sound from the younger woman. It hadn't occurred to Bastet that Birtie hadn't fought back yet, instead she was too focused on making the woman regret ever attempting to take her position as second.

Birtie is submitting || Fight post 5/5 (?)

Birtie was convinced that perhaps the older woman was slightly out of her mind. The Parlow knew rank challenges to typically be swift. Most moves she had ever made or had made on her were revolving around the muzzle and neck. This lady seemed to be going for stranger spots like her cheek and ears. Sure they were tender and made Birtie rumble with uncomfortableness but how was that dominate?

The woman was now on her shoulders and Birtie had no option but to lower herself. Her body sunk down towards the earth. The woman didn't play by Birtie's usual rules which threw her off all the more. Her tail drooped down in hopes that would be enough of a signal for the dark second to get off her back.

Her bite to the ear had been a success and for a moment she shook as vigorously as her neck would allow until she felt the weight below her fall toward the ground and knew that Birtie was submitting. She growled, adrenaline still pumping, but when she realized that Birtie had no fight left in her she gathered herself and pushed off of the female, her hair returning to a smooth appearance along her back. Her fighting tactics were different, she was aware of that, but a fight for rank and a fight in the wild were very different and her bites were not intended to break the skin, merely harm the woman long enough until she was ready to submit. Her tail rose high over back, a display of her dominance over the woman who had so quickly sought to fight her way through the ranks, before she spoke. "What is your name?" she asked, having reserved the questions for later.

Birtie Parlow-Tallis

She was quick to move away from the dark female once she was off of her. Birtie's eyes narrowed sharply, displeased with the woman and the outcome. Coward the dark female was to not grab her opponent by the muzzle or the neck - at least in Birtie's mind she was.

The large female was going to dismiss herself but the other had the audacity to ask a question. Didn't matter to you before. What's it now? There wasn't venom in her voice, this time it was almost real curiosity. The stranger could have asked before Birtie lunged but she hadn't. Why ask now? After everything? Did she plan on tattling or gossiping about the incident? The large Parlow had to hold back a laugh at the idea.

Maybe she was a bit viler - inwardly - than she intended to be but she couldn't help that. Some things just seemed to fester beneath the surface out of view of others.
