RE: Winter makes a comeback! A cold snap drops a dusting of snow across Relic Lore, killing early
Kieron, after having taken a short rest after being escorted over the borders of Shallows Edge, was busy preparing for her night vigil. She had taken care of her immediate needs - emptied her bladder, filled her stomach (on some old bones she had unearthed near the lake), taken a dip in the shallows to wake herself up further and wash the sleep from her eyes - and was presently taking inventory. Here and there along the borders, she counted the scents of those potentially nearby. Including the two men in charge, she had taken notice of a handful of yearlings, a female or two, and no cubs.
How peculiar.
A thoughtful smile laced its way onto her masked face, ultimately relieved to be spared cub-watching duties. She had done quite a bit of that in her days leading up to her departure from her homelands, and younglings were not particularly her favorite. While she had suspected that she might only have a heart for those born of her own bloodline, she found she couldn't decide upon that for sure. She liked her work and very much preferred she put her responsibilities first.
After a good stroll and a good stretch, she glanced up to the sky, only slightly aware of the chill through her thinned summer coat. It might have been cool out tonight, but it certainly was too cold for the flowers that had only just blossomed in the wake of summer. The light wash of pinks and oranges in the clouds that had gathered was long gone and the skies were turning from light blue to dark blue at a steady rate. It would be dark - and time to get to work - before she knew it.
