Thunderstorms RE
you rollin with us or you gettin' rolled over

The warm full was gone. A huff left the grey girls lips as she continued to frown into the open, the vast wet green beyond the shelter of the den hardly of interest to the girl without the full one in sight. The lighter circles around her eyes only accentuated her pout, a glance thrown toward her brother before her mind was made. If the big dark wouldn't come to them with the full, well she was just gonna have to go chase her back.

What the young princess hadn't anticipated was the slight slope just beyond the entrance, or how slick it would be with rain falling from the sky and thunder rolling overhead. The sound echoed the noise that left her chest as she tumbled down the incline, and had it not been so well timed she might not have dwelled on it. Instead she stopped, sprawled in the mud with her brows pinched in thought... wondering. A sharp bark left her lips, and a few moments later, a sharp flash of light streaked across the sky followed by a resounding boom. Well that was interesting...

Vareth Archer-Lyall
Eating, and sleeping were two things he was rather good at. Two things that didn't require much effort. For the most part took up a great deal of his life. It was when he opened his eyes trouble seem to begin. This time it was looking right at him. Or at least as he squinted he had thought the silver ball of fur,he'd never been without, was starting to get an idea. His inky brow scrunched further. But, he did not have to wonder why very long. There was no warmth and no food. Suddenly no sister either.

Well not one to be left behind, specially if it was time to eat, he stretched his toes, and pushed himself up. Toddling on after Sedna. A loud noise rumbled outside, and he wasn't quite moving forward any more. That had never happened before, and he wasn't sure if he should be afraid or just cautious. Then nothing else happened, and the sound of his sister pushed him forward. Right to the lip of the den in time to see the strange flash his eyes quickly glued too.  Another grumble from the sky, he shrunk closer to the ground.

Sedna sensed more than saw the movement at the entrance of the den. Every inch had been explored, so she already knew there was no back way in and her brother had been the only one left behind. It was when he cowered that she started to take the arial display personally. Nobody picked on Var 'cept her. Her rolling growls escalated to sharp barks, small paws lifting off the ground as she clicked new teeth in warning. Whoever it was that was spookin' her brother had better get their butts down here to face her! Or she'd find a way to chase them down herself and give them what for!

It's in the eyes I can tell you will always be danger

The Lyall didn't mind a good thunderstorm. He liked to think it was just one of the gods hanging closer to them. Nourishing the earth, and putting on a good show. With a slim rabbit in his teeth, he trotted onward to the den. Unbothered as the rain fell on him. It was just enough to make him damp, and another flash of lightning lit up their small world. Making it take on an entire different appearance. In a way enchanted by the strange light, and the overhead rumbling.

Those silly thoughts took a back seat as he was 99.9 percent sure he heard a young bark. He had a good inkling who it belonged to. Soon enough more followed, and his gold eyes fell to the outline of a silver form. Quickening his stride, he let out a muffled woof. But he didn't stop until he reached them. His face contorted with puzzlement as he gentle set down the small meal. Apparently they had woken from their nap not too long ago. "What's the matter?"

Vareth Archer-Lyall
His limbs stiff, he only dared move his eyes. They skirted with unease along the great sky. But, other then a some wet drops not much happened. Except Sedna, who at the sight of him, began to chew the sky or someone out. His tail gave a feeble wag in thanks, a sheepish smile pushing up his cheeks. He had yet to be as bold as her. Wait...There was something moving in the distance that brought his head up. It was father!

Now he felt odd being on the ground. If he shouldn't be, and it gave a bad impression. As if he hadn't been in the dirt he pushed himself up, and let out a yip. His wary eyes went to Sedna as a question was asked. If somehow she could answer with ease. It didn't' seem right to expect everything of her. A soft whine, he squirmed to his dad's long legs, and nudged them. Pointing up, as another clap of thunder sounded. Flinching in surprise, his wide eyes began searching, wondering.

you rollin with us or you gettin' rolled over

Sedna was so focused on the mean sky-foes that her father's words barely got more than a glance and a wave of her tail. As if to back chat him though, the sky roared and the girl frowned again. The only person that back-chatted her dad was her ma, so was ma hiding up there in the darkness? Was this a game? But no, that didn't make sense. Her puzzlement was growing clearer by the minute, her barking reduced to a rolling growl at the back of her throat. "Bad noise!" She finally managed to answer her father. "Make Var sad. Na make go-way." Or at least she was trying. Maybe dad would have to make the bad noise go away.

Vareth rose quickly, finding place beneath him. Indicating the sky was the issue as budding questions rose in his eyes. The thunder was closer than Ren liked, but they best get use to it now. It was nice to have a change from the heat. He tried to fight a smile as Sedna explained. But he was amazed how already Sedna looked after her brother. Would that change? He hoped he was around to find out.

"We call it thunder, and the only thing that can make it go away is the sun," he informed them with a gentle smile. One that seemed reserved especially for them. "It's probably just a few gods, sparring like you two do at times. It makes quite a noise though doesn't it?"

Vareth Archer-Lyall
Tentatively Vareth wagged his tail as @Sedna left little to interpretation. Immediately wanting their father to make it stop. Yes, he thought. Did it have to continue? He didn't see the point. There was a lot of things like this, and as his father explained, the boy inched out from beneath him. A little less scared because now he had questions to distract him. "Wuh odds?" He was sure some had been mentioned. He was not at the age to keep them straight or hold on to a lot of information that wasn't immediately useful. He really wanted to know who was responsible for this...

Not a yes, sir

If the only thing that could make the thunder go away was the sun, then why didn't da make the sun come? It all seemed simple enough to the girl, he had the answer, therefore, he must have the solution. "Make sun da!" It wasn't a question so much as it was a demand. Already the girl expected her commands to be followed, and made her displeasure known when they weren't.

Although, she quickly realised with his further explanation that there was more to it than just making the sun appear. Her cheeks puffed as she inhaled and held a breath, looking crossly at the sky. "STOP FIGHTIN' YA' DODS!" Her following angry sigh was met with another roll of thunder, and darkly muttered, "Dods bad.

"If I could I would sweetheart," he offered with a sad smile for sorts. Humored by her demand, and yet hoping it was the stage she was at. He looked his boy in the eye. How did he explain this one? "Well there strong spirits we don't get to see. But they have great power over all of nature." He felt like he might have to break that down, or Vareth would simply accept it. Having a faint understanding till he got a little older and wiser.

Sedna with all her strength demanded they stop. The father had to fight the smile that wanted to rise. With a thin breath, he put on a more stoic expression. "They can be. But rain is good Sedna. It helps the plants grow, and in turn the animals we eat." He wasn't sure that would appease her, but maybe something else would. "Come on, I"ll show you the best thing about it." A little further, where the ground was uneven there was a decent size puddle. He eased on over, being sure to wait for his audience when he leaped into it. Sending the water every where, his tail wagging rapidly behind him. "Your turn," he gestured to Sedna while he stepped back to give her room.
