Eirian Asurn
Broken clouds - 78° | @Eek @Solstice

A fiery silhouette traversed through the dry underbrush with determination in each step, nostrils flaring in disgust at the familiar stench that continued to cling to these lands after all this time while a narrowed citrus gaze; typically cold and emotionless, was cast over the top of an ebony dusted shoulder. "Keep up. I wasn't aware I was raising a snail." The words fell harsh and frigid like ice, but this was how an Asurn spoke. How he was training her to speak, to be. Hardening the counterproductive softness her mother instilled within.

Had he thought the odor of the impure was bad, it dulled in comparison to the foulness and intensity of their mongrel cousins that burned with each breath he brought into his lungs since stepping paw back into the realm of the lore. No amount of snorting rid such smells from his nose, but eventually the copper male accepted that nothing could be done. He had bigger, better things to worry about.

Memories of a time long ago surged forward to torment the forefront of Eirian's mind as his paws stepped past the threshold of the forest to walk along the pebbly shoreline of the swift flowing river. Citrus gaze imagining the slate and russet accented silhouette of @Nalda flailing in the rapids one second and gone the next by time he blinked. "We rest here." It was doubtful anyone was smart enough to realize the potential these rapids held in their rocky crevices to harbor a meal untrained paws couldn't reach.

Solstice Asurn
The girl could feel her mother's smirk without needing to turn around to see it and she answered her father's words with a silent scowl, the tip of a tooth peeking out from under her lip. Her bob tail might have thrashed if it had the length to it, except her mother had seen to that appendage long ago.

Soul was not a snail. It was true she was more bulk than speed, but then again, so was he. Who was he to call her slow anyway? She could keep ignoring the throb in her paws that had hardly left since the family decided to relocate, especially with new areas to explore... like these rapids. Moving closer to the waters edge, the girl balanced on scattered boulders to keep her paws out of the water. She was a strong enough swimmer, but it did seem to moving at quite a rate, and honestly, she could do with a break.

Eek
It was true that Eek was smirking, though when her daughter didn't fire back, settling on a scowl and exploration instead, the Lieris quickly filled the silence for her. "You're one to be talking about speed." Sarcasm dripped heavily from her words, but ghost grey eyes stayed glued to the hide of the yearling in their company. Her retaliation would probably earn her teeth but she wasn't above snapping back if he tried it. If anything, the living, breathing miracle that was Solstice had bolstered the small wolf's confidence and she was fiercly protective of the young warrior.

When the childs eyes had finally faded from blue to silver, she knew it was meant to be, and now he was stuck with her. A good thing too, given the heavy stink of coyotes in the air. She snorted to try and dislodge the scent but it lingered still. "This place well and truely went to the vermin, didn't it?"

Eirian Asurn

Although wise that young mouths were kept quiet, the same could not be said for that of the ebony woman once their rendezvous point for the time being was reached. Sarcasm hung heavy on every word she muttered and much like the expression his daughter had chosen to hold, a scowl of annoyance creased his handsome features before glancing away from the frothy water to grant Eek the massive eye roll she so happily earned with her comment. "Hilarious, Eek. Really." He scoffed, letting his gaze wander back to the earthy silhouette of his daughter as she explored the scattered boulders just outside the watery domain.

"Be careful, Soul." Eirian warned before a russet ear flicked off to the side in response to his stub tailed companion's statement, letting her know her words didnt go unheard as he let silence reign once more for a few minutes. "Indeed it has. Filth is everywhere now like a plague, it's disgusting." So much so the Asurn spat at his paws, tail twitching in agitation upon realizing just how much more work he would need to put in in order to continue his mission. The internal destruction of Broken Timber Pines was but a blip. More needed to fall. More needed to be abolished.

An ache in his gut had the scowl returning to his facial features, citrus gaze once more settling on the watery hell that once tried to snuff him out. The sun could not be extinguished, nor could Eirian. The thought almost had him laughing while padding over to leap upon a larger boulder beside that of Solstice, peering into the rapids. "Find anything good?"
