Eek
A recent heat wave has left the forest drier than usual

It was about time for Solstice to be checking in, but as Eek went to yawn she realised just how dry her mouth had become after her early morning sun nap. Silver eyes rolled almost inperceptibly as she pushed herself up on popping and creaking joints. This winter would be a hard one on the woman, so while she wasn't terribly upset about the recent heat, the lack of rain posed other problems, predominantly the introduction of a need to pick her way carefully between unstable boulders and barely dried mud to reach water. Sure it was probably easier to access further downstream, but the woman was a creature of habit, when habit allowed. They had been on the move for some time, at least if they stayed here, @Eirian wouldn't struggle to find them.

Bowing down, she extended her next, lips pulling tight as she extended herself to her furthest reaches. It was tempting to allow her rear legs to fold as she was, but then there was the pesky matter of thirst to contend with. It couldn't be helped.

She wasn't paying as much attention as she should, still struggling to shake the last of sleep from her system. It started with a thin skin of dried mud that gave way to thicker, wetter stuff beneath (not that she'd ever cared much about the state of her coat), but mud came with its own consequences, as her left paw slipped from its secure foothold and slipped between two larger rocks. Reflex had her yanking the limb up, but it was solidly jammed and an unbidden yelp left her chest in a hurry.

Well, this was less that ideal.

Lyanna Tainn

She'd left the confines of the Edge behind early in the day, setting off to patrol for coyotes or find something to hunt down. For a time she'd rimmed the outskirts with her snout to the ground, and after managing to find only weathered traces of coyotes long gone, she'd taken to the bends of this particular stretch of the river. Lyanna hated to fish. Hated the mess and the clamor of the process, nearly as much as she loathed the way their scales sometimes stuck in her teeth. Yet, she was hungry and she was far enough from home that she couldn't catch a lazy meal from the caches; perhaps she'd give it a shot. After her encounter with Aida - the fishing expert - perhaps she could practice some of the things she'd picked up from the intriguing girl.

Paying little mind to anything but mulling over the tips and tricks she'd recently learned, she nearly passed right by the dark furred wolf who'd managed to get her leg jammed up between a couple of mossy boulders. Lyanna nearly skidded to a stop, perking up and quirking her brows as she took in the sight of the woman before looking twice in both directions and seeing that she was not only stuck, but stuck and alone. "You really did a number on yourself there," she commented casually with a flick of her tail, the curiosity in her expression easy to see. The stranger could have been crude or dangerous, but...after living with Askan's grouse of a self, she was basically accustomed to both. "...Want some help?"

Let's keep this to just @Eek, Lyanna, and Pietro for now

Pete was... well, Pete was tired. It wasn't that he didn't enjoy his life - in fact, he rather liked the monotony of getting herbs and putting them in his den and having routines. It was just the scent of these disgusting coyotes everywhere and the fact that he was way too small - and weak - to actually defend against more than one was a slight issue. So Pete was generally very careful and quiet outside the territory. Didn't get into much trouble. Worked hard.

His nose picked up the scent of pack and of a stranger.

A stranger in quite the predicament.

"Lyanna," he greeted his older packmate, looking at the female with her paw caught. "I'd wager she has a sprain or at least a cut from this. Would you mind going to get some arnica from my den?" he requested, then moved to examine the paw. Yep - definitely a sprain. "It's a bright yellow flower with points on its petals," he went on to the pale-furred female.

It'd take a while for her to go get it, but that was fine. It'd get him some time with his patient.

"What's your name?" he asked the older woman as he moved to get a large stick to use as a sort of lever for the rocks.

Nearly as soon as she'd come across the scene, so did Pete.

"Pete," she returned with a sway in her tail. It didn't take long for the Edge's healer to make a speedy assessment of the situation and offer his direction. He would surely be of more help to the stranger with her leg caught up in the rocks than she would. Willing to do what she could to help, something she was much better at than anything related to medicine - running - she nodded her understanding of what he asked of her.

"Sure thing, I'll be back in a flash." Lyanna made her exit, turning on her heels and speeding through the forest to collect the arnica from his den.
