While most young pups were often plagued by boredom, the tawny child never seemed to grow bored of endless silence. There was something about the wind and nature's growl that soothed him. The screeching of an eagle nearby enough to make him fearful yet intrigued at the same time. He hung back, covered by brush and vine, but he could see in the vast expanse of land westward the bird's silhouette. It's wingspan wide and proud as it soared with confidence and ease. Brothers nowhere to be found and his parents likely nearby, he was sure they'd be along shortly to tell him it was dangerous. Yet, he couldn't stop staring at it... wondering what it must be like... to have a beak.

He had long ago decided Revon wasn't bad in the least. But, he was wondering if it would be the same for the three boys Greer and Kyna had been blessed it. He knew too well what boys were capable of. But more so how important it was to attempt to keep them from trouble. They were little, and just like all small things tended to be looked upon as prey.

Damn coyotes any way. He really wished they could possibly ally with the Ridge. Maybe have a big hunting party to end it all? What could bond them better than killing an enemy? He huffed, crinkling his snout in annoyance. It was something his father had done. Or at least he'd been told. But screw him. This was an entirely different circumstance andhe didn't know why he had thought it in the first place.

Half wanting to slip past the borders, and the other half wanting a drink he plodded along not quite committing to either thought. The call of an eagle brought his head to the sky. Unlike the young boy in the brush Summit didn't find it interesting. Then again he wasn't in the greatest of mood. "Yeah, yeah have your fun," he spat.

The little guy wasn't even truly aware that there were others in the pack aside from his parents and siblings. That there could even be anyone else at all. So as the eagle majestically flew over top the trees here and there, he hadn't sensed that someone else was nearby. Not until he heard something and like a painful twist his head moved to look at who it was. A stranger but built on his own scent much like his parents. Shh, it'll hear you. Lance murmured from his brush, concealed somewhat overhead though certainly not by his face. It was enough cover to not be picked up by the eagle but was easily spotted otherwise. Lance simply wanted to see this wonderful thing from afar and didn't want to grab its attention. He was far too small and fragile to be a playmate to that large bird.

He was unprepared for a reply, and flinched at the voice. A few long hairs along his shoulders raised with his gray-black tail. "What the hell.." He mumbled under his breath. Knowing it was not the eagle, and he certainly he hadn't had anything to question his sanity. With narrowed eyes they began picking among the bush until he saw the child. Hiding. Little bugger. Worried the other ones were here as well, he took a second to check. There was only Lance, and him. Well that wasn't all bad. Except why was he here alone?

"You think I would scare it away?" He questioned, though he purposely left his voice soft. Easing just a little closer to the bird watcher's spot. Did he realize the eagle was dangerous? Or was that part of the reason he was hiding. "What makes you want to watch it?"

A hard swallow, barely hearing the fellow's proclamation of hell, eventually realizing that the adult had finally seen him hiding away within the bush. It wasn't too thick of a bush but it would be harder for the bird to see or get to him in here. It would likely end up getting tangled within the thick branches. No scare just... well, he didn't have a reason. A part of didn't want to admit that he was scared of the bird for no reason other than it had a pointed beak and scary talons, its wingspan was a little too intimidating for his taste to see what it was like in person. Bird is big. Too big for me but I like it. Not scary, clearly not intimidating... just big and big was beautiful. Was this adult friends with the big bird? There was something oddly enchanting about the majestic bird that flew within the valley off to the side of the Heights. Yet, Lance was sure that there was a reason it was still gliding around over there.

Sorry. With AH poof wasn't sure what to do. Now I figure they may met again so should finish it. <3 @Lance
You can't even slow me down

Understanding softened his dark mask. "It is something isn't it..." How did something like that soar? How could they pose a threat, and then one day you just had to be sure they didn't steal your lunch. "You're pretty smart. Got a good spot to watch it." Stay safe but he didn't dare add that. Maybe the child understood that already. There was no need putting fear in him. Lance seemed a bit more cautious than his brothers.

"It's called an eagle or what my grandmother would call a wamblee. She would say when you see one its trying to give you the freedom and courage to look ahead." Something he wanted to believe himself, but was still reluctant about. The thought made him a little homesick for those who had to be missing him. He didn't like being reminded. "What do you think it means? Something or it just sees something to eat its trying to catch?"

Sorry for the wait! :C And sure, yes! They can meet again~

There was a timid smile that formed on his cheeks that encouraged the idea that the compliment was well-taken. He was smart; something that he hadn't been told by anyone other than his own parents. Even that was few and far between but he didn't hold it against them. They had a million other words they used, as well as a few other kids to corral. Wamblee? he asked, his lip hitching itself upward in a rather confused and disgusted situation. Though the advice given to him about what a wamblee might symbolize made his attention move back to the creature. Envisioning what freedom felt like and courage, staring at it - waiting to feel brave and fearless though not really familiar with what it was supposed to feel like. Umm.. maybe it's trying to find its nest? he swallowed, not wanting to think about it trying to find something to eat and kill. It was recognized that that was how creatures survived but he didn't want to think that he was small enough for those talons to grapple onto.
