Armand Gerau
Quote:hmmm. A crow seems to be under the impression that you understand what it's saying.

Stretched out in the sun with his eyes barely cracked open, the boy was enjoying the way the warmth radiated back from the rocks and into his flank. A sleepy yawn curled his tongue and toes bent back in an attempted stretch as he rolled his body over, belly exposed to the clouds overhead. He didn’t have the worries or the sadness the bigger wolves seemed to have. He had his siblings, and he was fed. There was little to rain on his parade.

An ear flicked at the sound of rustling feathers. Armand had figured out already there wasn’t much point to chasing after the birbs because they would just fly away from him, but the clicking of small nails scraping against the rocky expanse was somewhat more unexpected. He opened his muddy eyes, the puppy blue starting to change to something more earthy, and rolled the top of his skull against the rocky slab to try and catch sight of his new companion.

The black bird’s head tilted to try and match his own and the boy rolled quickly to protect his delicate belly and rest up on his elbows. His tail gave an uncertain wave as a worried sound left his chest, caught somewhere between a whine and a growl. The (very large) bird hopped towards him and the boy scooted back, a worried bark warning the birb to stay back! but didn’t seem interested at all.

Adora Macieo
Adora had been occupying herself with a particularly tasty stick, the end of it practically pulp at this point. Her yellowing eyes were closed with contentment as she worked the wood between her sharp puppy fangs, until the sound of her sibling's concern registered. Shooting to her paws, the little girl swiftly assessed the situation unfolding. Something big and winged was after her smallest brother!

Growling as fiercely as a child so young could manage, she charged forward and after the intimidating bird. She didn't like anything about it, from those big curved talons to it's black, void-like eyes. Recklessly, Adora threw herself at it and attempted to take a bite.

With a flap of wings and a hop to the side the bird seemed just as unphased by his sister as it was of him. Again its dark head tilted, intelligence shining from behind beady eyes that the boy couldn’t quite comprehend. Another low rawk was offered and the boy’s face scrunched in confusion. What was it trying to say?! “I-dun speak birb!” the small boy shouted back, lifting his front paw and bringing it down against the warm rock to emphasise his point. With another tilt of its head and a flap of its wings, the large crow took flight, landing in a nearby branch and ruffling its feathers.

Rawk.

He wasn’t too keen on following the strange bird on his own, but with his sister here… “Les’follow!” he didn’t wait for an answer before toddling towards the tree was perched in, keeping his steps going as it retreated further into the forest.

Adora Macieo
It escaped her with ease, earning a serious of derisive, sneeze-like snorts from the whelp. Her oversized, graying paws stomped the ground as though she could demand it into her grasp. Ah well, at least Armie was safe. He loudly proclaimed that they couldn't understand its squawking and she stuck out her tongue and blew a raspberry to emphasize her siblings' point.

Yeah. Dumb thing.

It seemed to get the hint, and Adora would have been more than happy to return to the stick she'd flung to the side moments ago. Her brother had a different idea, however, and there was no way the young girl would let him take off without her. She charged after them both, ears up and eyes wide. Maybe Armand was on to something, maybe this would be fun!

"Where's'it goin'?!" she asked no one in particular, leaping now and then as though she might reach it all the way up in the air.

"Caw, caw!"
