Luca Denahi
The stars are unusually bright tonight. Maybe because it's also unusually cold.. brr.

The night sky above was dotted in thousands of thousands of stars that reflected off the snow. A bitter wind parted the thick strands of his grey pelt sending a shiver down his spine. Luca trudged forward with his head pointed down, ears flattened. The snow crunched underneath his paw pads, spreading his toes apart as he walked. Pieces caked to the fur on his webbing in an uncomfortable fashion. The wolf grumbled beneath his breath, pausing his stride to nibble at the nuisance. After a moment of standing there just grooming himself he gazed out to the distant horizon. The tundra seemed to stretch on and on without an end in sight. It was familiar to him, in likeness to a frequent migration route his pack followed every year.

He could almost smell the musk of the caribou herds and hear the deep commanding voice of his father leading them on the hunt. Luca's mouth watered with the memory of the savory taste of a fresh kill. He licked his lips, black nostrils flaring as he sniffed the air. The stale scent of a bull bison graced him, it smelled that of an older induvial, and interestingly enough alone. He found himself unsure on tracking it, the trail was at least a day if not two old. Knowing he had mouths to feed the young wolf decided to follow it, disregarding the concept of looking for a fresher scent or that of a less formidable prey.

Flair Smoke-Athesila

Her restlessness grew ever stronger, but winter maintained its grip on Relic Lore, and though their group had found shelter by the falls, their pack had yet to become stable. All in all, it was far too precarious to do any real travelling just yet – she would have to settle for trips into the Lowlands, tracking the herds as an excuse to work out her wanderlust.

It was a poor excuse for where she really wanted to be going, and mostly did nothing to quell her irritation, but at least she could grumble alone without accidentally taking it out on anyone else. Except, as it turns out, she wasn’t alone on the tundra today. Disinterestedly following the trail of a lone bison, she suddenly came upon a much fresher scent, that of wolf.

Heaving a heavy sigh, Flair picked up her pace, trying to put a positive spin on her gloomy thoughts. In all likelihood, she’d found another wanderer, perhaps someone lonely and looking for a place to stay. That was the hope she tried to hold herself to as she caught sight of the grey shape up ahead. But still, there was an edge anxiety in her heart, an eternally pessimistic side preparing for a fight, even as she called out: “Y’ really plannin’ on takin’ ‘im on alone?”

Luca marched onwards, the thought of feeding those whom he cared about driving him. He was so lost in his determination he'd almost missed the approaching footsteps. The sound caused the man to tense up, freezing where he was. His hackles prickled at the thought of the bull. Had it found him somehow? It didn't seem logical for that to be the case. The man's nerves instantly sizzled out at the sound of a feminine voice, his fur smoothing. He turned to look at her his head in line with his spine, tail wagging slowly, ears off to the side but not tucked. He was neutral, but not submissive. The corners of his lips pulled up into a slight smile, "Hello"

What was his plan? His brothers were too far behind to help him. A bison was not an animal to play around with alone or not. At last he sighed, "You have a good point there."
