Kalysta Valle
Halloween RE with Kalysta just back from her little vacation!
RE: Was that a wolf flying across the moon? Laughing? Surely not...

Kalysta stood in the familiar planes of home and breathed deep. While she'd been on her adventure she missed home, and now that she was home she missed her adventure. She felt more stifled than ever, trapped and watched and imprisoned. It wasn't entirely the truth and it was a punishment of her own making since she'd run off on her own but it wasn't as though she cared about that. She deserves to go on adventures and see things and have fun too - even if she didn't see things the same way as everyone else.

Kalysta huffed and flicked her ears before dramatically throwing herself to the ground to pout. She had yet to come up with a way to lift her grounding. Not that she had anywhere to go anyway. Maybe she could talk her dad or brother into taking her out.

She thought briefly of her mother. There, when Kal had left, and then gone. Died. Gone forever. It was a strange concept to the young girl, that someone could disappear so suddenly and so completely. Gone the same was as her other elder brother, the one she'd never met, the one who'd left her niece here.

Huffing again, Kal rolled on the cold ground, throwing a small tantrum in the privacy of her mind.

if karma's real, hope it's your turn

Hera had not even been gone for that long, barely five days and she had done it intentionally to try to drum up some extra attention - which she had gotten, but now she also had to pay the piper. Grounded. For some reason she had never considered that could be an outcome from her little journey. A whole moon and a week she was stuck within the territory and her father would be checking in to make sure she was following the rules.

The only saving grace was the news that Kalysta was also grounded for disappearing. She didn’t really know how much different that was for her sister who in the blonde’s eyes received a lot more attention because of her eyes - but that's besides the point right now. Seeking Kaylsta out she smirked at the sound of the huff and the dramatic sigh. Misery loves company after all.

Plopping herself down unannounced she questioned, ”How long did you get? I got 5 weeks.” Her sister would know who she was, unlike all the adults she didn’t see the need to baby her. Sure, her eyes didn’t work, that didn’t make her totally useless.

The sound of footsteps heralded a new arrival and then her litter mate's scent hit her nose. Kal's ears twitched as Hera dropped down beside her and announced her grounding. Kalysta hadn't realized her sister had been gone as well, but she rolled back to her belly and lifted her head to respond, her nose scrunching. "Sixteen weeks," she groused. "I wasn't even gone that long." She was, she knew she was, but she still felt righteously indignant about how long her grounding was. Twice as long as she'd been missing! It wasn't as though she'd entirely done it on purpose!

Kal turned her face toward Hera, barely making out a dark shape she thought might be her. "Where did you even get off to?" Maybe Hera at least had some fun adventures, whereas Kalysta just wandered in circles.  Not that she would admit that. If asked she was ready to fabricate some fanciful tale.

The Valle girl groaned empathetically at Kalysta’s announcement that she had received sixteen weeks of grounding. But, she also grinned at the news - only because she knew her sister couldn’t see it. At least she would get out of her own punishment first, and would have a buddy the whole time she was locked down. The second her restrictions were gone she was going right back to her own self involved nature. She wouldn’t say it - but even she knew that Kalysta had in fact been gone for a long time.

Had she gone anywhere interesting? ”Hardly, I was only gone for five days, so it was just a lot of walking and trees and more walking and trees.” She rolled onto her side and blew a leaf across the frosty earth when it crunched under her muzzle. She piped up, ”I don’t get why everyone is so excited to be a scout - I hated it.” When she was home there was always a fresh meal and a warm body to cozy up to, plus she hadn’t felt very safe being all by herself.

Maybe that was something she needed to work on, ”Did you have to do anything scary?” She had been lucky enough not to, but the thought of it made her skin crawl.
