Orren Baranski
This will be Orren's last post, though assume he'll have stuck around, trying to help/console as best he can

He didn't know how long they sat there, all huddled together. No one spoke, Orren wasn't even sure he could, it was like his voice had dried up. So had all his questions, all his thoughts, no his head was just empty, dark. At some point Kisla loosened herself to go find the girls, a lump formed in the brother's through as he thought of the message she would have to rely. His eyes rested on the lifeless body, with every passing second it felt less and less like his father. There was no stoic look in sharp, green eyes, no proudly straightened back, no elusive smile on the cold, dark lips. Everything that had made him Maksim Baranski was gone, this was a corpse, a husk, no different from the prey they brought down to survive.

Eventually Inna showed up, her usually energetic form appearing cold and wrong as she moved quietly, so still while she stood against the body. Orren's eyes moved to her, chest tightening even further at the sight of her broken like that. When she came to his side, he lowered his head to hers, stroking his muzzle along her shoulder softly, then burying her in his embrace, clutching her as tight as he could, desperate to console her, though he knew he couldn't.

Later he would help clear a length of the purple flowers, digging a hole big and deep enough for his father to be put to rest. He started to feel hollow around that point, empty, just like the body they lowered into the ground. While he would hug his mom and Inna, doing all he could to help them, he shed no more tears of his own as they worked. Those would come later, when he was alone.

Lachesis "XIX" Stark
Lachesis' last post <3

I want to bury him. It didn’t feel real — none of this felt real. How could Maksim just leave them… he had so much time left, so much life in him. He had a family, a pack, wolves to take care of… Lachesis was not fit for the job. He could not fill the massive hole the green-eyed king left behind. He nodded, sharply, in agreement to Kisla’s statement after a pregnant pause. However, just as he was about to move forward, Inna arrived and Lachesis, once more, felt like an intruder. He stepped to the side, instead, and folded his hindquarters against the ground as the inky Baranski approached her father’s body. When the Baranski’s were ready Lachesis would help move Maksim’s body and dig a proper grave; there was no need to rush.

~

The ghost had never dug a grave before — and he never wanted to again. It was a peculiar feeling, pulling apart the dirt only to put it back together again… except with the remains of a comrade among the dirt this time. His brows were knitted together as they replaced the dirt on Maksim’s body, as a lump formed in his throat, gradually increasing in size with each pile of dirt that fell onto the fallen king. When the dreadful task was complete Lachesis dipped his head to the Baranski’s and turned away, leaving the Ethos temporarily. He would let the family grieve together before returning to mourn his own loss. For now, he needed to walk … walk until his paws grew numb and carried him back home …

Exit.

Kisla Baranski
Last for me.

Her children grieve – to watch their reactions and see their heartbreak only continued to open the wounds even further for the tawny she-wolf. There was no way to protect them from this – she could not lessen their pain, though she would have given anything to endure it for them. Blankly, she would look to each of them, aching to hold them, and yet she kept herself busy, for it felt the closest to sanity – her paws becoming muddied as she dug a grave that her husband would rest in.

A task she had never thought she would need to do.

She became even more numb as they covered him – each paying their last goodbyes. She had to remind herself over and over that the body she had placed within the ground was only the shell of what had been left behind --  Maksim was gone, and there was no possible way to bring him back. Even when the others finally left, and the sun began to settle on the horizon, the widowed Baranski would sit by his freshly-dug grave, unmoving. She could not bring herself to leave his side – not yet. Had they not promised one another forever?

This is my last

It was all so very wrong, her father not being with them anymore but there was nothing to be done about it now except to say goodbye. When she moved to seek comfort and share in the loss of her father Inna felt the stoking of Orren’s muzzle against her shoulder before he brought her against him. The tightness with which he held her did console her some but the void that her father’s leaving was still there, she feared it always would be.

When it was time to lay her father to rest forever she stayed back unable to help dig the hole that would be her father’s grave. She hated that she couldn’t help with this, this thing that was so final in life. When his body had been placed in it’s final resting place Inna dropped a bunch of the purple flowers that surrounded on his body as her final goodbye to her father and her hero.
