Private for @Lachesis . Set after this thread, though keeping details vague as uncertain of what will happen. It would be safe to say she would smell lightly of OTB/Ice though. :) LOL @ the potential awkwardness of this entire thread.

Also, RE! Kisla, a pile of snow falls upon you.

Morning had come and she had slipped away from the lake. She could not stray from home for long – especially with her two youngest daughters coming in to their first season, she aimed to keep them safe from any straying male eyes. Inna had yet to return from her scouting trip, and the tawny woman felt a sense of irritability at this notion as she crossed the borders of her home once more. What had Inna been thinking, traveling in to this time of year? Had she not recalled what had occurred with Karina, when her eldest daughter had come home pregnant?

But Inna’s head was on her shoulders more squarely than her naïve eldest daughter, and she tried to lessen her worry as she loped toward the river the territory had been named after. The tall trees above remained snow-kissed from the season, despite the warming of the weather. Soon, the snow would melt and spring would fully blossom in to their lands – soon, she would have been widowed for one year.

The thought stilled her heart in her chest, but it was with surprise that with a sudden rushing sound and a harsh phlump sound, a pile of snow had fallen from the thickest branches above, covering her and knocking her feet out from under her with the weight. Crunching forward in the snow, Kisla Baranski completely face planted, sparse bits of honeyed fur sticking out from the mess of white.

And for a stolen moment, she simply lay there, wondering if she was indeed being punished by some higher being for the first time in her life.

Lachesis "XIX" Stark
@Kisla <3

It was difficult to keep track of the Hearthwood females as they passed over the borders, the arrival of spring keeping them on their toes. Lachesis gave them as much space as they needed, staying out of their way and allowing them to come and go as they pleased. When they were outside the borders, he was inside and vice versa. They wandering paws wasn’t necessarily a bad thing, as it was possible that they could return with potential recruits. So, Lachesis kept himself occupied. If he wasn’t keeping a watchful eye on the blue-eyed sparrow, who appeared to be just as confused about spring as he was, XIX was busy collecting herbs. He did not know if Hearthwood would have a litter this year but he wanted to be prepared with the appropriate plants.

With the arrival of warm weather the snow was beginning to melt from the trees, often falling off in clumps, which made maneuvering through Kingsfall hazardous. It appeared that Kisla had experienced that firsthand.

XIX had come across her trail unexpectedly and realized that it was too late to try to avoid it. While her scent lingered, heavily, in the area, it took a moment for the alabaster healer to find his co-lead. Snow dusted her tawny fur and she lay, looking defeated. He couldn’t stop the grin from rolling onto his dark lips, his head falling to the right as he studied her for a moment. “Looks comfortable,” he chuckled, his apple-green eyes shining with amusement.

I'm the worst!

As she lay there, contemplating the shit pot her life had become, her ivory co-lead came upon her. His amusement was clear, and blinking her own bright green eyes, she cast them upon him for a thoughtful moment. Consideration was upon her slender features – Lachesis was a handsome, single (or so she mistakenly thought) male – and was the leader beside her. Would it not have made the most sense for them to both breed? Even before a witty and flirtatious response could be spoken, it died quickly within her throat – for whatever made logical sense in the sense of hierarchy, it would never be.

Lachesis was Maksim’s closest and most trusted friend. That alone made the thought entirely wrong – that, and the ivory wolf was also one of her own trusted friends.. and the spark, even with her heat, could never ignite in that sense. Lachesis was what Kisla held closest to a best friend herself now that Naia was dead.. and the thought seemed almost bleak, given the two only discussed matters of the pack.

She allowed a gentle smile, though it was slightly forced. She did not attempt to move yet – the snow would shield her heat scent, and for now, she desired his companionship in the sense of thoughtful conversation. Could she think clearly, otherwise? Ice’s presence had proven very clearly she couldn’t. “Seems fitting, doesn’t it? This is my life.” As good natured as her tone was, the words hinted to her sorrow – Kisla Baranski, widow to Maksim Baranski. The depressed downer of the pack.

He had only meant to laugh once, a small chuckle to be dismissed by an offer to help the snow-covered agouti. The offer, however, never made it to the tip of his tongue for it got drowned out by another bout of laughter. He was quick to silence, his expression quickly shifting to a look of concern. She wore the same defeated look that the Stark often wore himself. They were both in similar situations, for they had both lost wolves close to them. It was because of their fierce loyalty and devotion to Hearthwood that they persevered, despite the gaping holes in their chest where the wolves they lost used to be.

With a cooked grin rolling effortlessly onto his pale features the Stark flopped down onto the snow, an exasperated sigh breaking his stoic features. “And mine,” he responded as his forelegs stretched out in front of him, his toes wiggling in the snow to make himself more comfortable. Lachesis had been purposely trying to avoid the women of Hearthwood, yet for some reason he kept stumbling upon them… first Lekalta, then Lilya, and now Kisla. He knew there was no way of avoiding the raven Baranski, either, for they were always crossing paths. The thought alone was exhausting; perhaps this unexpected encounter with his co-lead would diffuse his thoughts. He could do without pack talk for one day. Sometimes it was nice forgetting who he was and the responsibilities he wore.
