Veho Macieo
Open to one, please.  Set midday.  Overcast and raining, 23F.

It was…all over the place. The scent of pregnancy. Not just Pip now, either.

Veho never considered himself to be a particularly jealous man, but this was a new feeling entirely. Not jealousy. He couldn’t quite put his paw on it – he had not explicitly terrorized his subordinates, for he had thought he not need to. They were all well-mannered adults, after all. He had thought. Pip, perhaps, was his own doing, having never explained to her (or any of the other coming yearlings) just want spring meant. How were new adults supposed to know if no one explained it to them?

But this?

She knew full well – and hadn’t – what? They weren’t mates. But he was still the alpha, Ancestors damn all. The man sat, staring at his borders with an empty expression on his face. All this freedom, just beyond Grizzly Hollow territory. The whole world, welcoming his subordinates, his co-leader, even, and not himself. Once upon a time, he had traveled the forest and met wolves as he went, allowing only the will of his Ancestors to guide him. Had he stayed too long? Perhaps his Ancestors were disappointed in his stasis.

“Perhaps I should ask, instead of wondering,” he groused to no one in particular. Unsurprisingly, the Ancestors said nothing in return.

Tyne Kersey

OOC! Thought he could use someone removed to talk to :)

Despite keeping to himself the large sea wolf still had a general understanding of what was going on within the pack. Oula had been taken but has now since return, which surprisingly relieved the man. Were the hallow wolves growing on him? He also noticed Pip's scent had changed the way his mother's had two seasons ago. It didnt exactly settle well with him but who was he to tell her what she can and can't do? He wasn't a sibling or cousin, he wasn't even blood. He's nothing more than an age-mate from her birth place, a sore reminder of what her life once was. So he kept his mouth shut and would simply continue to watch out for the small omega. There's nothing else for him to do.

So once again as per his usual routine Tyne was out hunting - or trying to at least. A familiar scent crossed his path that was quickly recognized as that of his alpha. Deciding a little friendly conversation wouldn't ever hurt cream limbs reset their course towards Veho. As the sea wolf approached charcoal dusted ears caught the leader say something. Golden eyes scanned the immediate area and saw there was no one else around. "Ask what and of whom?" He asked coming up on the grey mans left. "That is if ya don't mind my aakin'" he added giving the older male a small smile. He didnt want to intrude and if Veho wanted to be alone or was waiting for someone else Tyne would happily depart.

Veho wasn’t expecting an answer. The wolf startled, wondering for a brief moment if the Ancestors actually did deign to answer him today. But the moment passed and he turned, greeting his packmate with a small nod. He gave a small invitation to sit, briefly pondering the man’s question. Did he want to share the problem and burden someone else? He’d never been particularly close with Tyne.

“You are free to ask,” he told the other. That much was true, at least. There was no reason to encourage silence. That was half the reason he was in this much trouble.

The wolf sighed, determining that turning the same problem over and over in his mind was unlikely to yield any novel results. “Just some personal problems, I suppose. The lack of communication in the pack at the moment is a bit…troubling. Too much assumption.” Perhaps some of that was his fault, for he too had made assumptions – assumptions that the members of his pack would come to him not only in times of need, but other points, as well. “I am tired of being last to know, at least.” He hummed again. “But that is not your problem, Tyne. I appreciate the concern.”
