Pack meeting, second round will start no later than 24th April. If you don't get a post in it will be assumed your character is present but has nothing to add so no pressure to get in here.

Naira

Oh how she hated these things, the formality of it all, but it had to be done. Maera was showing clear signs of pregnancy, as was she and she could only imagine the chaos it might cause if like her first year she had four and Maera did too. The cubs would outnumber the adults and if they continued to allow outsiders to swan in and out as they wished the pack would find themselves on the backfoot in a bad way indeed. It was all well and good to be nice with everyone but it was time for boundaries to be clearly laid out. She would protect what was hers with her very last breath if it came to it.

At least by being the one to call the meeting she wouldn't have to worry about whether she'd imagined it or not, a bitter chuckle meeting the air with that thought. Spotted Triell and gestured with a tilt of her head that now was as good a time as any before tipping her head skyward and calling for her packmates to join them. They all worked hard, she would never deny that and she did hate to drag them away from their duties for something so close to ear chewing as a meeting, but these things had to be done every now and then, no matter how they rankled her.

Leotie Rhys

Leotie had just placed a small squirrel in the cache that she'd managed to catch.  She'd been spending more time trying to improve her skills with catching them.  She couldn't just rely on rabbits all of the time and granted she'd never been particularly fond of squirrels bit they were food.  Naira's call for a pack meeting reached her ears, Leotie wasn't new to pack meetings but it had been so long since she'd been to one.  In the draw they had never had one so she worried that something might be really wrong that needed their attention.

Quickly she made her way to where the call had originated from so as to make sure she was there on time.  Even in the bend Leotie had never liked being late for a meeting and just because she was in a new place with a new pack didn't mean this had to be any different.  When she arrived on the scene she found Naira of course and Triell but the it seemed she was the only other to arrive.  She gave them each a nod of greeting before taking up a place a short distance away but close enough she would be able to hear what was said. Then began the wait for the others to arrive.

Zerxes Zamora

What Zerxes enjoyed most about this pack so far was the overall lack of everyone being up each others' asses. At the very least, the majority avoided him save for the pup at his side. Not that he minded. @Treyah was welcome company with her impressionable youth and hero worship. If only she knew... Z was the farthest thing from a hero and that wasn't just him being modest. By now, tales of the boar had spread - not without his own flair, of course - and he seemed the part more than ever. But the annoyance he felt at being called along with the rest of the pack could hardly be hidden on his face.

"Only just got to the good part," he grumbled to the pup, pausing in his story telling. It seemed she was the only one who cared at all for his stories and 'myths of old'. Really, it was just bullshit he made up on the fly, but she ate it all up. "Better go see what your mama wants, eh?"

The masked male heaved himself to his paws and trotted with an easy pace to heed @Naira's call. "What do you think she wants to discuss?" he asked the girl out of curiosity. Treyah had become his own little vault of insider secrets. She always seemed to know what was going on at any given moment and he had used her knowledge to his advantage more than once, though not in some obvious, devious manner. At least, not yet.

By the time they arrived, he dipped his head respectfully to the Alphas - no matter how much it rankled inwardly - and grinned at @Leotie with a companionable wag of his tail. He flopped down near his fellow hunter and glanced back to Treyah to motion towards the empty space at his side for her to join.

Maera Slayer

Old habits die hard, and her antisocial personality seemed to harbor more isolation now. It always had been pretty bad but even with the joyful news of the success they found, she found herself reluctant to talk to others… part of her was afraid of royally fucking it up. She’d tried to maintain the fact that she was a mensch but at this point, the lines were kind of blurry and she was stuck in a very grey area. The call ran out as she was settling down for a nap – she’d been taking quite a few of those, not that she’d ever say she let it take away from her productivity as a member of this pack.

She forced herself up onto her paws with a soft yawn and a light shake of her swarthy Slayer coat before starting her approach. She used the short time it took to get to the meeting to compose her features into a mask of nothingness, polite and respectful as she always pushed herself to be with those she trusted… and begrudgingly those she didn’t who still called this place home. Really, she had no reason to distrust any of her pack mates, just sometimes their behavior, or more of who they hung out with, put her on edge in a bad way, and that was all on her.

She dipped her head softly in greeting as she arrived, gently setting herself on the ground as her tail brushed against the ground to rest curled around her form, waiting for the meeting to start and for her husband to arrive. Where was Kerb, anyway? She would have thought for sure that he would have beat her here…

Treyah Tainn
won't you light my lonely way back home?
Treyah Tainn

The girl had always been partial to stories, whether it was her father speaking of years gone by or the more fanciful ones her mother might weave she always found herself getting wrapped up in the telling. @Zerxes stories were no different and as they walked together and he regaled his own tall tales she listened with visible rapture, eyes wide and expression changing with each twist and turn the story took. Just as things were getting interesting, her mother's call cut through the charred trees and her face fell, a short roll of her eyes and a sigh offered as her companion suggested they should go see what her mother wanted.

When he asked what she thought her mother might want, she shrugged, she knew very well the gripes her mother had had over the previous months, "Probably finally got sick of that willow guy hanging around, their pack did kill her mate before dad, I'm surprised she didn't run him down and rip off his head yet. Maybe we're going to war?" She teased, fully aware that with two pregnant women in the pack any attempt at battle would be a rag-tag effort involving three wolves and two not-yet yearlings. "Or it could be about that idiot at the borders." But they had arrived now, and there was little point continuing to guess when her parents were right there poised to get this over with.

She moved to greet her parents with a nudge to each chin then settled herself by Zerxes flank, ears perked high and ready to get this over with.

Kerberos Rigel
He knew he was going to be tardy to the call. The second had been far enough out to not be first while still being close enough to perhaps not be last. He quickened his pace to not keep the others waiting. Yellow eyes scanned the area to see if he might bump into any members or children on his way there. It'd be best to round those up who were goofing off instead of going to the meeting.

The further he got the more he realized he might actually be the last one. He felt guilty so he quietly entered the scene as he took a place next to Maera. His nose gently brushing over her crown as he looked about the area. No Reiko still. He supposed the son was out on a patrol or hunting. Surely he would show up soon.

He dipped his head in a silent greeting towards those around him. To no surprise, Zerxes and Treyah were connected at the hip, as long as no harm came to the young girl he supposed he couldn't be mad. Leotie was present too, his rank mate. She had made it through the heat season without conceiving it seemed. While he wouldn't mind small Leotie's in the future (obviously with a father other than him), he assumed it was for the best that they waited. Besides, it had been mated pairs who tried and succeeded. As far as the tawny Rigel knew she had no love interest.

With those thoughts put aside, he let his gaze settle upon the lead female and male. He was positive they would have something interesting to say or bring up for discussion. They always did.

Reiko Tainn

Reiko knew something had been different, but it had seemed so short he had paid it little mind. No one had pointed anything out, and he had other things to occupy his mind. The season was changing, and he could go a lot further now without the snow impeding him. There was a rocky outcrop he liked to climb. Over in the grove, a river he liked to frequent. So he only grew more eager to watch all the snow disappear. He hoped in time he could visit Lunette's family, and see the Cove for himself. He was pretty sure Kerb had mentioned there were plenty of packs on this side. He wished to see those for himself as well. But, for the most part it was simply nice to be out in the sunshine. Feel its warmth, instead of winter's huffing breath.

With himself for company he had taken to exploring a different part of the Draw hoping to find some medicinal things when his mother's voice called for everyone. Okay. It seemed an odd time of day for a hunt, and he wondered what could this be? Feeling it wasn't drastically important he did not move in haste.Humming to himself, he trotted to reach the gathered group. But, his ears tipped sideways as he realized he was the last to show. Great. Since Trey was occupied with Zerxes, again with a lowered head, and slow beating tail he took a seat on the other side of Kerberos. Eventually, lifting his chin enough to make eye contact with his parents. Sorry. Next time he would try to arrive in a more timely fashion. He was now more interested to hear what this was all about. Briefly, he tried to meet Kerb's stare from the corner of his eye. Did he know?

Triell Tainn
I'll be the bright, and black, that's making you run

It was clear there would be two litters to come. At least now there were two fathers to care for them. But, it was still a little nerve wracking. Especially, considering the Draw was not what the Bend had been when three litters had arrived. There was no Serach, Spieden, Alastair, Sahalie, Drift, or Darrah. Something he could not erase from his thoughts. Nor how he still felt off  every to and again. The Tainn adapted, and the Draw would do the same.

As he waited for others to turn up, he took a seat beside Naira, his fiery eyes were watching for them in the distance. Maybe, Reiko and Treyah noticed something had been different. Either way they would soon know. Though it had helped greatly that Naira had been in agreement with letting Kerberos and Maera have their own. But, it did not surprise him at all they had been of the same mind about it. For all the pair had done for their family, the least they could do was let them have their own. Both Reiko and Treyah had grown in strides, and on this side of the mountain they had to learn to overcome.

Leotie came first, which did not surprise him. She was committed to this pack, and seemed to thrive in the west as well. He offered her a warm smile. Zerxes was brought in tow with Treyah. What they were doing today he could only wonder. He greeted her in turn with a nose brushed against her ear, and quiet rumble. Maera arrived without Kerb, but it wasn't unusual. He assumed he was with Reiko. He arrived shortly after without his son. Triell could not help but, frown. Worried.  Soon enough he joined them, and the Tainn gave him a simple nod in turn. Going to hold him to his word. His eyes drew to his mate, as he was leaving it to her unless she would need his input.

Sorry guys life got crazy. Will aim to start final round on 19th May.

Naira

Leotie was the first to arrive, followed by Zerxes and Treyah, Maera made herself comfortable and Kerberos wasn't far behind. It was only Reiko that made them wait, a small smirk adorning her face at his sheepish approach. "I hate these things as much as anyone so lets keep it short. We're expecting two litters this year, which might make things a bit difficult, but I'm sure if we all work together, it will all be fine." She had an easy smile on her face breaking the good news, children were a blessing to any pack and with her mate to support her the strain on the rest of them should be minimal. "That being said, don't waste my time if pregnant loners turn up on our doorstep. Their children are not our burden to bare." In the past she had taken in orphans and foundlings, but now she was too old to deal with the drama they inflicted. It wouldn't be happening again this year.

"We need to start stocking the caches, and being a bit less lenient about who we let across the border. This extends to the Willow wolves, I know they are friendly but we simply do not have the resources to spare, and it won't look well to others if we're seen to let anyone and everyone into our home. We will have children to protect before we know it. It is best the boundaries are clearly established before that time." Oh but she was getting wordy. "Anyone have anything to add?" Now was the time for questions or comments. If they were done, then perhaps they would consider a hunt while they were all gathered once the meeting was done.
