Niles Archer Lyall
Larkspur made it clear that laziness, not picking up one's own slack in regards to keeping everyone fed and healthy, deemed them - both Niles and Castel - stupid, idiotic, and useless in his eyes. Niles shrugged in return but clearly obeyed, particularly after the man said to go on... He would show him. The boy's muzzle remained smooth and gave a quiet nod before backing away. Once there had been a good amount of space between them, he turned around and to crept from the guard's sight. He even kept his tail tucked.

He had work to do. Even if the cold snap wouldn't release its grip on Relic Lore just yet, he had to soldier on... make an effort. Be present. Do something good. After some time, he straightened up and glanced back to where he had come from. He would leave Larkspur alone to do whatever work he needed to tend to, all right, and he would do as he was told.

A quick but longing glance was given to the stormy skies; and, as he bowed his head, he offered a silent prayer to an Old God who saw to the winds. Never mind the snow, he just needed just enough stillness to use his nose and find something worthy of the two wolves he was to befriend. For a moment, the storm grew still, adorning him with a temporary snowflake crown before picking up as he fell into step at a randomly chosen direction. Just like that, Niles was gone. He would return the the borders by the morning.

Larkspur Ritter
Larkspur stood tall, impatiently waiting for the younger boy to skitter on off. His orange gaze remained trained on the boy's retreating frame, and lingered still a few moments after he was gone. When the boy had finally gone off to find one of Quaking Vale's alphas, Larkspur turned. It always felt odd how distinctly different Sahalie and he thought things should run. It was an adjustment, but in a way it'd be an adjustment for everyone. The pale man liked to believe that the world revolved around him, and bent to his own will, and coming to terms that it wouldn't work that way anymore would take a little bit of time. If he could stop and try just a little harder, if he could get along... he let a long sigh escape him. He couldn't expect to act any differently than he was, and anyone else that thought that magically Larkspur was going to be sunshine and rainbows was insane. The man looked up and shivered, shaking some of the freshly fallen snow off of his pelt. Niles would find his place in Quaking Vale eventually, as would he, and even Castel would find her place. Not that any of it meant that Lark had to like anyone.
