Lorcán Artemieva
It had been as the sun had begun to set, casting a beautiful array of deep red, pink and orange across the clear dusk sky that Lorcan finally struck lucky. The agouti male had managed to track down a small gathering of caribou and after carefully stalking his way closer, he had managed to chase down and isolate a young bull calf. The mother had protested, charging him on more than one occasion, but with its young too exhausted to escape Lorcan had dealt a deadly bite to its throat.

After dragging the dead caribou calf away from the small herd of adults, the agouti male had concealed himself and his fresh kill amongst the cover of the tall grasses which dominated the tundra. Aside from a few ravens which spied him from the sky Lorcan had managed to keep his meal well-hidden, until now, when beneath the dim light of the evening, he began to haul his kill back through the lowlands in the direction of the forests which surrounded Kingsfall.

Even beneath the cool evening shade, hauling the fresh carcass along the uneven terrain was a gruelling task. Chest heaved and his nostrils flared as he trudged slowly through the tundra. The caribou calf hung lifelessly by its neck from his tightly clenched jaws as he moved. A heavy exhale was pushed up from his lungs as he sighed, his golden eyes peering onward through the fading light. Lorcan could already tell this was going to be a long night.

Saradathia Kethian
The white huntress stepped out into the lowlands, with the sun setting, her daily ritual complete, she sought to clear her head in the lands around her. Kicking up dust as she took off into a loping gait, eating up the distance between their home and the Lowlands around, that served as their realm of hunting. Eventually, she paused, the landscape became more windswept grass and rocky outcrops, she took a minute, inhaling deeply, the scents causing her blood to stir, the call of a raven overhead caught her attention, silver gaze upward, she looked out curiously, after a few more seconds, Saradatha took off in the direction of the birds, wondering what had drawn their attention, had it been a kill? If so, she wanted to know about it, this close to her pack’s territory.

As she progressed through the fields, she eventually found the kill site, she paused, her nose twitched at the scent, a scowl formed along her face Lorcan She thought for a moment, with a pup in the pack, her protectiveness increased, though they weren’t within the Mondonck’s hunting grounds, it was a bit too close for her comfort, combined with the fact that she hadn’t seen her former packmate since he had left, it gave her more motive to investigate, she followed the scent and blood trail, off after Lorcan.

There he is she thought to herself as the trail became fresher and fresher, unburdened by a kill, she was able to catch up fairly easily, the male’s earthy colored coat coming into view, she paused a ways off, perched atop a rock, letting out a quick yip of greeting, she didn’t want to scare the healer.
