Elyan Myrddin

The gray agouti boy could be impatient at times wanting all of the answers that his father could give him all at once. He didn't understand why the pale man wouldn't but instead just gave him tidbits here and there for him to go on. Despite his impatience at not having all of the answers he had managed to figure out what they were tracking and he had kept them in the trail. He had also figured out that they were getting closer to their prey and now he was getting a little anxious with the anticipation of what was to come next. He looked up at his father as thoughts of failing and disappointing Emrys went through his head. The last thing he wanted to do was mess everything up and for a short moment he wasn't sure he wanted to continue on.

His father did confirm that they were getting close and told him they would have to be careful as they continued. The boy nodded before starting to follow the trail once more. This time he was careful with his steps, each paw placed carefully so he didn't make a sound. He wondered how much longer it would be and what they would have to do once they found the rabbits. A glance at his father behind him was met with an encouraging smile. Elyan continued on before stopping once more, “I think they are very close by,” he told his father before waiting to see what he thought.

Spending this time with his son, teaching him about hunting rabbits was both happy and bittersweet at the same time. He wished he could be doing this with both his son’s but that wouldn't ever be possible. Little Milon would never have the worries that Elyan would have at some point in his life. All Emrys could do was hope that his living children would not have to suffer through losing a child of their own. He had to shake thoughts of his stillborn son from his mind for the time being but made a promise to visit after Elyan had finished his hunt.

He gave his boy as much direction as he was willing so that Elyan could figure out the rest, think for himself. It was very important. A smile crossed his maw at his son's words, “What do you think we should do next?” He asked keeping his voice low. He was furious what Elyan thought the next step would be. The pale leader found he rather enjoyed teaching and hoped that maybe he would he able to teach his son about his own passion.

They were getting closer he just knew it even if he hadn't been doing this long. The Agouti boy was excited for what was to come and determined to catch the rabbit. He wanted to make his father proud of him and show him that he knew what he was doing. Elyan scanned the area with his matched gaze for any sign of the rabbit they had been following.

It wasn't until his father spoke that he turned his gaze up to look at his father. He gave the question a moment's thought before answering. “We have to determine where exactly our prey is and we have to do it without letting it know we are here?” He said it as more of a question since he wasn't exactly sure.

Step by step he took his son through what he needed to do while he was hunting. He hoped that by doing it this way it would make it easier for him to remember the things that needed to be done. They were to the last step before Elyan would have to try and catch his first rabbit.

The pale leader was probably just as excited as his son seemed to be. For weeks he'd been.waiting for this day and more than anything in that moment he hoped that Elyan would catch the rabbit. He still knew that deep down his son probably wouldn't. Hunting was something that required practice and Elyan hadn't had very much of it. “Very good. Why don't you lead the way and I will stay quiet behind you. Watch where you put your feet Elyan, you don't want to scare the creature away.”
