Midday, Warm, Sunny, 61°F, 16°C, Private for @Risaela
At the edge of the territory, sprawled out beneath a warm ray of sunshine which broke through the canopy of sequoia trees, the healer enjoyed a moment to himself. With everything that had happened over the past few days, Lorcan had been so busy taking care of everybody else that he had forgotten to make time for his own needs.

The male had woken that morning to aching limbs, tired paws and a growling hunger inside his gut. It pained him to admit it but his brother had been right, he needed time for food and rest. So, later that day after spending some time with @Inna, he had gone off to retrieve a fresh-smelling rabbit from the pack cache and slunk away with it to a quiet spot within the territory.

Satisfied growls and grunts filled the quiet around him, disturbing a small bird which had been resting on a nearby branch, as he slowly devoured his meal. He took his time pulling brown and silver fur away from flesh, creating a pelt with the discards. Blood began to stain his muzzle, cheeks and chest as he then tore ravenously at the carcass, breaking through the flesh to chew on the slimy viscera, enjoying the texture of the entrails against his tongue.

Risaela ???
Thanks for starting this! @Lorcan

Her talk with Aytigin the day before had helped her to feel a little bit better, but only enough to where she realized how hungry she was. Not eating for a handful of days really did take its toll on the child, and almost every bit of energy she had in her was sapped out. The silver-tawny pup made her way carefully through the forest, eyes on her paws instead of the world around her for the first time in her life. She wasn't feeling specifically adventurous since Kisla's death.

The scent of blood was both nauseating and tantalizing. After all, she was fairly starving at this point, but she also had only just gotten the last of her mother's blood off of her. It was an odd combination of sensations, but she understood that, without food, she would die. So she followed the smell, her stomach past the point of growling and instead just feeling hollow.

She crawled underneath a bush to reach the clearing where the scent of food was the strongest, and her eyes grew wide at the scene before her. Because instead of just seeing a wolf eating a rabbit, the fur colors and the overwhelming crimson of the vision shoved the memory of the monster looming over her mother's dead body, its face and chest dripping with Kisla's blood. She had to swallow a few times to ward off the nausea, and her tail made her way between her legs as she crouched, trying to rid her mind of the memory.

Despite his satisfied grunts filling the air, his ears twitched towards a faint rustle which sounded in the underbrush nearby. At first Lorcan ignored it, presuming it to be some small bird or rodent, nothing that he should bother with considering the tasty meal he currently had clutched between his paws – but then he caught a glimpse of something out of the corner of his eye and the healer soon realised it was no woodland creature, but one of Kisla’s pups.

Brows furrowed with concern as he glanced across at @Risaela, instantly picking up on her fearful body language as he crouched there in the clearing where he was lounging. “Risaela?” He asked calmly, hoping to get the young pup’s attention. “Ris?” He repeated more softly, before he slowly clambered up to his feet and licked the blood clean from his face before he began to approach her.

“What are you doing all the way out here?” He asked, his frown being replaced with a warm smile, before he glanced back at the rabbit carcass he had been eating. “Did you want some? Are you hungry?” Moving calmly towards her, he made sure to keep his head low and his tail swaying neutrally behind him – not wanting to appear too big and intimidating to the scared pup.

Risaela ???
The girl stared for a few more moments before she realized that the tawny creature covered in blood was actually just Lorcan - a packmate that hung out with Inna sometimes. She didn't think they'd ever formally spoken before, but that wasn't really all that important for he moment. Her tired brain liked to bring irrelevant thoughts to the forefront of her mind these past couple of days.

It took a moment longer for her to realize that he had asked her a question and was approaching her. Which was fine, because she wasn't afraid of him at all. She would have preferred someone she knew better to run into, but it was nice to meet a new person, anyway. Or, at least, it would have been, under normal circumstances. But it would have been super rude to run off or just ignore the man, so the child swallowed a couple of times as she tried to recall what it was he had asked her. Unfortunately, for the life of her, she just couldn't recall what he'd said.

Fortunately, her stomach decided to answer for her. It rumbled in a high-pitched tone and she looked down at the rabbit behind him, her mouth watering slightly in spite of the slight nausea she felt at just the sight of blood.
