Waiting to hear details as to why Al isn't leader so keeping it vague for now. Whoever can join in, just go easy on me, I'm so rusty
Being a leader suited Larkspur. It had always suited him, and before he'd managed to squirm his way into the top rank of Ritter's Ridge, it was all he had wanted. What better feat could you have then to be the one that everyone feared and respected and loved, all in one neat package? Back then, he had flourished as a leader, quickly coming out of his shell and offering his full self. He had stopped being the wolf that lived in the shadow of his brother. In the end, that had gone sour.
Since stepping up in the pack that he'd helped form, Larkspur again came out of his shell. It did suit him, as it always had. He would be there for his pack, he did his best to tone himself back and keep up whatever spark @Sahalie had started Quaking Vale with. He couldn't be her friendly, welcoming face, or her bubbly attitude. Castel wasn't it, either, but he'd swallowed whatever ill feelings he had towards the girl so he could put his duty first.
Today it was pouring, the sky growling at him from above. He didn't mind the rain so much, but something about thunder had always put him on edge. There was always a weird feeling that came with the flashing lights or the rumbling sky. But rain or thunder wouldn't stop him. The older man continued his walk along the borders. Most days he was alone on his walk, a small, almost guaranteed solitude that he could get. Today that felt a little bit different.
