Triell Tainn

Triell had no intention to go north, but as he had begun his day it was where he found his paws taking him. He felt it would be good to stretch his limits, and see what else he had been missing. So through the familiar fields, and top a hill he had not crested in some years was where he currently found himself.

But this particular hill brought a memory of his own youth to the front of his mind. The first time he had laid eyes upon @Volkan. A friend he would never forget, and whose name made up the great list of wolves he forever missed. He faintly smirked, how they had believed they would have their own pack at bramble falls. How different things always turned out. But, he was not here to reminisce. He had tracked a lone, cow elk here, hoping she would be worth hunting, or she could lead him to something that was.

As his legs took up more ground, he could feel the throb in his old wounds. Despite wishing to deny himself any rest, it was on this look out he stopped. What good would he be if he got sick again? Absolutely nothing. Settling down to his haunches, his body panting sharply, he took the moment. It wasn't like the cow wasn't already ahead of him, and he couldn't  find her easily enough. At least he could be grateful his aged body wasn't failing him completely.

Jessie Tainn
Requesting that this take place after Askan, Cottongrass, and Reyes leave.

The monochrome woman felt like she was drowning within the borders of Wild Rye Fields. All three of them left: Askan, Cottongrass, and Reyes. And she certainly felt as if it were all her fault. After ensuring that her children were safe and that the caches would be stocked for a few days in time, the woman ran. Despite the ache in her bones, the release was welcome. While the Tainn was not a fan of running away from her problems, a part of her just yearned for that freedom. A part of her never wanted to join a pack and wanted to remain alone for her whole existence; another yearned for the companionship that Drestig offered her. But now, with three of her loyalist members gone, Jessie found herself wondering what the difference really was between Oak Tree Bend and Wild Rye Field. Really, her heart was just being torn between two homes with the same story, but different names.

The Rye Queen’s paws took her as far as Blackberry Fields. Emerald green eyes were shut tight against the world when she finally came to a stop, her sense of smell and sight finally returning to her. The repetitive slam of her paws against the earth had been enough to calm her from the enigma that clouded her thoughts. It was on an outlook that a figure caught her eye. In her anxiety, she hardly took the time to survey her surroundings. When she inhaled she could distinctly identify the scent of the retreating cow but the dark figure was upwind from her position. None the less, something about it struck a chord of familiarity with her. She approached and as the distance closed between them, the figure cleared into one she should have recognized, even from so far away. Perhaps the fates were trying to tell her something. When she spoke, her voice cracked, “Triell…” And then there was no hesitancy in closing the distance between them.

Triell Tainn
Works for me :3

Thoroughly resting, he had let his eyes slip shut, relying on his ears and nose to alert him.  Eventually his breath settled, and he was ready to push on. Blinking, he swore he heard his name, and rapidly swept his gaze across the fields, picking out the silver wolf closing in on him. But, despite how far her home was from here, he didn't doubt who it was. His memory, rather it was a blessing or curse did not fail him in this manner. Though he couldn't recall how long it had been since she had found him in the woods.

There she was, swiftly making her way to him why he picked over their last meeting. He finally mused, it was almost an entire year ago since they had seen each other . He let out a woof as his dark tail beat the air above him. But, even as a smile formed upon his lips, he couldn't help question why she was down this far. Were the northern lands feeling the force of winter already?

Without speaking he nuzzled his nose along her nape, and brushed against her shoulder. As he pulled back, meeting her green eyes he could tell something was not right. "Jessie?" He murmured, concern evident in his dark facade.

Jessie Tainn
His touch further calmed her and Jessie took the moment to inhale his scent deeply, making up for the year they were parted. Jessie’s heart would always return to family and Triell had been a part of that for years. There was no other happiness or life that could ever erase the memories they had together. Looking at him now, it almost made her wish that she could go back to that time, especially with what was currently happening in Wild Rye Fields. But that would make her an awful leader if she ran away from what was happening - even though that was what she was basically doing - and an even worse mother. Since Hotei’s death, a part of her had always felt hollow but often days now it felt worse than usual.

Emerald eyes made contact with familiar Tainn eyes once they pulled away. This was her friend, her brother - it only made sense that she would feel a sense of comfort around him. The widowed Tainn offered him a strained smile, a heavy sigh leaving her lips. For a moment, she avoided eye contact before she looked back towards him, ”Some of our wolves left and...I’m pretty positive it was my fault.” Grey ears flattened on her head. Jessie had never been one to appreciate her failure and she had often tried again in the face of it. But with those who had left, how could she try again if they were no longer home? She felt as if she had failed them - which she had - and that she had failed the pack as a leader.
